We had a three day stay here and it is a lovely old hotel, traditional and authentic. The staff are so helpful, the room no.3 is big and looks down onto the pool. We had a pleasant stay here, it is well located near santa Lucia square. There was a power cut on our last night, the air con and all electricity failed so it made for a very hot and uncomfortable night but the staff were so helpful and apologetic to the extent of rustling up fried eggs and bacon from a hotel nearby that wasn't affected by the power cut (which was caused by a building nearby collapsing onto power lines).
Nice building and garden and pool area, but very dark rooms (mine was at the back of the property and smelt a little damp) Erratic wifi Very nice reception person, help with luggage Very good location close to a super fun cantina
Room was special at end of pool on first floor; service from front desk to restaurant to room was some of the best we have ever had in our 30 years of visiting Mexico. A great find and would highly recommend . Really cared about treating guests as special.
This is a quaint hotel just a few blocks away from the town square. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our time here. Hotel is real classic. The room we had was very old and quaint, bed was comfortable, room was very clean and we had Hugh bathroom and could open the door onto the swimming pool area and private patio with 2 large hammocks you could relax in. Breakfast was freshly cooked and staff all polite and friendly. The hotel does not have a Restuarant, they only serve breakfast.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was a lovely restored colonial with just 8 rooms. Upon check-in, we were given an upgrade that gave us a great view overlooking the pool. The staff was extremely attentive and the grounds kept immaculate. The pool was refreshing after a hot day. The masseuse was amazing and it was one of the services available that added a nice extra touch. The breakfast, while not included, was a very good value for the price and I highly recommend it. The location was perfect for our needs and the area was safe and quiet. So why only four stars? We tipped as we went along, not wanting any surprises to pop up. When we checked out, the bill was about what we expected, except they had only charged for one massage which they corrected when I pointed out that it was actually two. Four days after we checked out, a mysterious $38 plus charge appeared on our bill. When I called to query it, no one knew what it was for. Since we had tipped all along ,had caused no damages, and it wasn't charged until four days after our checkout, well...it was either an honest mistake (which I prefer to believe) or someone hoping to get a bit more. In the end, the charge disappeared after a week. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would also stay here again.
As other reviews have already said, this is a great little oasis in the heart of Merida with nice rooms, well air conditioned, extremely helpful staff, very cool pool and a great breakfast (Mexican option was best) - all within easy walking distance of the historic centre and Plaza Grande. I would have breakfast before heading out with a guide to places like Uxmal or the Celestun, then back by 3 to lounge by the pool, then evening in the centre of Merida and e.g. the free Thurs eve concert in the Sta. Lucia park. Loved it. I guess the two rooms by the pool are the best ones but the ones at the back (where I was) were cool, secluded and well appointed.
We fled the overwhelming tourist crowds of Playa del Carmen and other tourist destinations of Quintana Roo to enjoy some of our last few days on a one month Mexico journey. Have loved the charm of Merida on a previous trip and booked a three day stay at Hotel Hacienda Merida. The hotel, near town center, is very charming, the staff highly accommodating. Our room, above the pool with a balcony, was spacious and truly old Mexico with wooden floors and a huge bed. Bathroom and shower roomy and artistically designed. The guys at the reception are a marvel as is the waiter Jesus. The Hacienda does not have a full service restaurant. However, many restaurants within walking distance. Their is a choice of breakfast which is served on the patio near the pool. Truly relaxing place!
Hands down the best hotel in Merida. The pool is so so dreamy, the breakfast is OK (we'd suggest going next door for breakfast as far better options and price). They don't have a fully stocked bar but they do try hard to give you everything you need. Just stay here, trust me you won't regret it. Ask for one of the two rooms by the pool.
Such a great find in Merida - it really is a peaceful oasis away from the city. The staff were cheerful and helpful and made our stay special. The pool area really does look as beautiful as the photos. It was very quiet when we were there and a perfect place to relax. Breakfast was delicious - either continental and Mexican option. Our room was probably their 'worst' room as it was at the back and didn't have a balcony and hammock but actually it was the perfect retreat from the hot sun and the air con worked well. Would definitely stay here if we came to Merida again and would even consider coming back to Merida just for this hotel. Thank you for such a great stay!
Hacienda Mérida was the best hotel here in Mexico where I have been to. The service is amazing, the rooms are amazing, the huge pool is amazing, the people who work there are really nice. This is a place that I would highly recommend for travelers. Overall I would give it a 9.7/10!
