Location: in the centre of town, a few block away from the lovely Plaza Santa Lucia Premises: in part refurbished and in part newly built. Parking: not on site but easily available a block away Service: staff is very helpful Breakfast: a bit poor for its price (and charged extra), it can get better value for money in town Room: spacious, clean and nicely decorated; the bathroom was enormous and with everything in working order. WiFi: reliable and fast in the room and all common places Overall: not cheap for local standards, but worth the price as you get an oasis of tranquillity in return
The hacienda is a small 6or 8 room place. The rooms are spacious well maintained. The bathrooms have a rustic flavor. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast served is good. Also located well within the center of Merida city.
This is a small but beautiful hotel right in the heart of the old centre of Merida. The rooms are simply and tastefully furnished and very comfortable. There is a small garden with pool and a convenient bar service. Staff are friendly and helpful.
I booked this hotel via Booking.com 3 weeks after they contact me to inform that they made a mistake (surprising to realise this 3 weeks after). They offer that I cancel or they find another hotel for me. I found another hotel and ask them to cancel by themselves, as I want it visible from the booking site that they are the one cancelling so that they can notice the practices of that hotel. Instead they declare to the reservation site that they couldn’t debit my credit card ! This is really bad faith. Incredible ! They are doing overbooking and they don’t want to bear the responsibility. If you want to have a secured reservation, don’t take the risk to book with that hotel. They can cancel at any time.
We stayed 2 nights at the Hacienda while visiting Merida. The hotel is very well located. Mercado 60, plaza Santa Lucia, la Negrita... all at walking distance. The personel is lovely and the owner, Alexandre is very nice too. I loved the atmosphere and the hotel is truly beautiful, very well decorated and true to the pictures. Breakfast is served next to the pool area and costs roughly 150 pesos per person. The room is the only reason why I did not give them 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, room is beautiful and spacious, although there is only 1 switch for the entire bedroom which means someone needs to get out of the bed to turn the lights off, no bath tub, no slippers. Appreciate nothing dramatic here. Overall, I really loved my stay and would strongly recommend
This hacienda was one of the best hotels on our 2 weeks’ trip through Yucatán and Quintana Roo! We had a nice room with a comfortable bed, a huge shower and water and coffee for free. Also the breakfast served was great (for only 100 Pesos) and they have a free parking close by!
They had me at the picture of the pool. I wanted a sanctuary in the middle of the magical city of Merida, and that is exactly what we got, and more. We started our ten days as tired, pale North Americans and ended rejuvenated, tanned and happy. First of all, however many days you have planned to stay in Merida, add a few so you really get to enjoy this property, in a location that can't be beat. Every morning, as the rest of the guests were rushing through a delicious breakfast served under the portico, on their way to see the Mayan ruins or the nature reserve at Celestun, we had the chance to linger and relax. There were some days when we only travelled a few steps from the breakfast table to the chairs and lounges around the pool, where we happily never budged for the rest of the day. This place is just gorgeous. Rooms are just the right size, with comfortable beds, and the shower alone is worth the very reasonable price. Staff is professional and friendly and charming, not to mention the very charming owner, Alex, and they all have great suggestions for dinner or lunch or sightseeing. Since there are only eight rooms, a perfect size, the only advice I have left is to book this fast and hope there are rooms available!
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour of Mexico. Given the central location there is a tranquil feel to the place. Slept well & undisturbed by any noise. The room was large, with 2 large beds, a separate walk in wardrobe area & a large bathroom with shower & honey & oat toiletries. We did have a few ants/mosquitos but this is a tropical area of the country. There is also a safe/air con/iPod dock & tv, complimentary water daily. Staff are very helpful & did their best to accommodate our vegan requirements, though this is still limited; fruit and sliced tomato on toast. There is also a small spa hut - I had a contradiction massage from Lupita, approx £25/hour, which was blissful. We could walk to all of the main sights, the road stayed in Merida is easy to navigate. We also discovered a number of vegan restaurants.
We had a three day stay here and it is a lovely old hotel, traditional and authentic. The staff are so helpful, the room no.3 is big and looks down onto the pool. We had a pleasant stay here, it is well located near santa Lucia square. There was a power cut on our last night, the air con and all electricity failed so it made for a very hot and uncomfortable night but the staff were so helpful and apologetic to the extent of rustling up fried eggs and bacon from a hotel nearby that wasn't affected by the power cut (which was caused by a building nearby collapsing onto power lines).
Nice building and garden and pool area, but very dark rooms (mine was at the back of the property and smelt a little damp) Erratic wifi Very nice reception person, help with luggage Very good location close to a super fun cantina
