There is no doubt that the location of this hotel is great, an easy walk to all the places you want to be in Merida. The outdoor area of the hotel is tranquil and a lovely place to swim and relax after a day of sightseeing. Our room (1) had a lovely veranda with chairs and hammocks leading to the pool. However, we found the ( Executive) room to be " charming " rather than comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious , but the bedroom was small with no shelves or drawers and very few surfaces to put anything on/ in. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable we have slept in - extremely firm / hard. The breakfast was very basic and never varied . The staff were all friendly and helpful.

A perfect hotel situated right in the centre of town. Hotel is split into two areas with two front doors each with a reception - one side are the standard bedrooms and the other side are the executive rooms (4 big rooms). Each side has their own gorgeous pool and sunbathing/relaxing area and an area for breakfast and drinks. We arrived at the standard area - when I say standard let me be clear - i'd have been more than happy to stay here as the area is gorgeous! - and we were upgraded to an executive room which was totally lovely. Huge room with big bed, huge bathroom and view out to the gorgeous hotel. The hotel was immaculate - beautiful colours, gardens, pool area, lounging areas and the staff were lovely - helped with trips, making sure we were OK, drinks, checking we were relaxing etc. Breakfast was amazing too - you had a choice of several different options - american breakfast, mexican breakfast, local eggs etc and all came with fresh rolls, fruit, local honey and jam and a fresh pot of coffee which is a rarity! Totally loved it. A must stay for Merida which is an amazing town too. Loved, loved, loved it!

Delightful old house converted to a small hotel with good pool and grassed courtyard. Excellent location within easy walking distance of the town centre and restaurants. Friendly manager and staff. Breakfast freshly prepared to order but rather limited, and orange juice was the “from concentrate”type. The hotel bar makes excellent cocktails.

We spent 3 wonderful days and nights at this delightful small Hacienda in February , 2018. Our room (# 1) overlooked the charming, refreshing pool, that was a treat to use on the sunny and warm afternoons, after enjoyable sightseeing. Our room was very quiet; only the happy , morning sounds of beautiful birds, broke the silence. The lovely breakfasts were a perfect way to start each day The location was perfect--just a few blocks from the sounds of one of the very active main plazas. The staff was very thoughtful and helpful, particularly Albert, the concierge. In addition to giving us suggestions for places to see and restaurants to eat in, he was most helpful in getting my lost backpack back to us. Prior to our arrival in Merida, we made arrangements to pick up a rental car at the Merida airport, after our three day stay in the city. Albert made arrangements to have a taxi drive us out to the car rental office around noon. The driver dropped us off at that location. After filling out the car rental documents, we put our luggage in the rental car and noticed that my small backpack was missing. I quickly realized that I had left it in the Taxi. Not having the phone number or name of the driver, I called Albert and explained what had happened. He told me not to worry and that he would locate the driver and have him bring the backpack to us. A few minutes later he called and said he located the driver and that he would be there in about a half an hour. Less than 30 minutes later, the driver arrived with my backpack; everything was still in the backpack, including our guidebook which we wanted to use as we drove off to visit Uxmal and the other fascinating Ruins, Cenotes, and charming small villages. Thanks again Albert

We had a wonderful week here in Feb 2018. The rooms feel very authentic but also classic and super comfortable, with an elegant decor. We loved the pool and main hacienda courtyard where we could sit with a drink and also had breakfast. But the main thing here was the staff who were so nice and super helpful!

Along one of Merida's gritty and traffic-heavy but picturesque main avenues, the Hotel Hacienda Merida is a bastion of calm and tranquility. Its centerpiece is the courtyard - green and palm-lined, with a modest-sized pool and often a gentle breeze blowing through. An on-staff bartender can make you a drink in the afternoon as you relax on a lounge chairs. The breakfast options (80-100 pesos) included warm croissants and a nice selection of fruit. I found the rooms fell just slightly short of the courtyard's perfection. They've been recently repainted and I believe there's new furniture as well. They're attractive and clean but the bed was a tad hard and the air-conditioner blows directly on you as you sleep (by the second night I figured out an appropriate temperature setting to compensate). The shower takes a while to warm up, too. But these are fairly minor complaints and I appreciated the friendly staff, always there to help with any questions you have. If you're a jogger, the tree-lined Paseo de Montejo is a good option, about 5 minutes away. Also worth visiting is Mercado 60, a great market with lots of nice small restaurants a block away. I'd certainly return on future visits to Merida.

Hotel Hacienda Merida is very well situated in the center-hip area of Merida. The room was big and comfortable with a huge bathroom. The swimming pool in the courtyard is really beautiful. We did not use other common facilities as it is so easy and more fun to go out for breakfast or drinks. We stayed only for 1 night in Merida and this hotel was just perfect for our needs.

A wonderful hotel which has been designed beautifully to reflect its history. The rooms were wonderful and the staff could not have been more helpful. The pool was an added bonus too. A definite recommendation.

I reserved a room for two nights over the New Year's Holiday several months in advance. Upon arrival, there was some confusion, and the management eventually admitted that although they had confirmed my reservation and charged me, my reservation was not actually "entered" as a reservation. So at this point, it's 6 PM on a holiday in a popular destination...and the hotel doesn't have a room for me. The staff are doing their best to manage the situation--they gave me some juice and fruit while I waited for them to confirm that yes, I have a paid and confirmed reservation, but not an actual room to stay in. During this debacle, I sat in the lobby looking at a lovely courtyard, in which I would not be able to stay. This part really sucked, as the place does look lovely, and I was really excited to staying there, and at this point, I know I can't. And they also let it slip that the last room was booked yesterday (December 30), I've put together that this error has gone undetected for *months* without remedy. To his credit, the owner arrived to deal with the situation, and was also distressed at the state of affairs. He found us another room at a similar hotel, and paid for our stay. That was what he could do about the problem, and I appreciated that he made the error his problem instead of ours--I really had no idea what we were going to do to find a place to stay on a very busy holiday. It was the right thing to do to assist us, but truly, the error should never have been made to begin with, and they had ample time to detect and correct it before I'm sitting in the lobby, marooned and frankly, panicking. The stress of the situation and the disappointment of not being able to stay where I planned were awful. I would have been much happier actually staying where I wanted, and not having a part of our vacation become a stressful problem instead of a relaxing, fun exploration of a beautiful city. This hotel needs to upgrade their reservation process to a system that is reliable. It would be a perfect place to stay if you were sure you actually had a room!

Location: in the centre of town, a few block away from the lovely Plaza Santa Lucia Premises: in part refurbished and in part newly built. Parking: not on site but easily available a block away Service: staff is very helpful Breakfast: a bit poor for its price (and charged extra), it can get better value for money in town Room: spacious, clean and nicely decorated; the bathroom was enormous and with everything in working order. WiFi: reliable and fast in the room and all common places Overall: not cheap for local standards, but worth the price as you get an oasis of tranquillity in return
