Clean, comfortable hotel within walking distance to the historic center of Merida. Air conditioning was enjoyed as Merida is a HOT city. Plenty of sitting areas to sit and enjoy the morning or evening "coolness." Breakfast was fantastic and cooked fresh every morning. Each of the 5 mornings we spent here, we were served a different breakfast, cooked especially for us. Guests may use the kitchen after breakfast hours if desired. I enjoyed practicing my Spanish on my travels in the Yucatan, but I must say it was nice that the staff here are English speaking. I was able to get far more insight and recommendations than I would have with my Spanish, which still needs some practice! Staff was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great recommendations for things to do and where to eat!
Our seven night stay was fantastic! The room was clean and a nice size, the hotel is on a quiet street yet close to some nice squares (Santa Ana and Santa Lucia). The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us some recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. The breakfast was also really good -- fresh fruit, toast, and a different main dish each day. It is served in the quaint courtyard. They also have water available from a jug so you don't have to keep buying bottles. There is also a guest fridge where you can keep a few things if needed. The Wi-Fi was generally decent (we had a few times where we got disconnected). The only down side was that there is not on-site parking; however, we did not have any problems with our rental car being parked on the street.
We really enjoyed our time here. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast was always delicious. The location of the hotel is also great - the street itself is quiet and just a short walk from all the action.
I've spent 5 days stay here, and feel comfortable just like home.the people here are very friendly and helpful.and location is good. they provide very nice breakfast.I'll choose to stay here if I'm back to Merida!
After several flight delays resulting in a late arrival and fatigue, nothing could have been finer than to be greeted with a warm welcome to this charming hotel. The lobby is furnished in bright painted furniture - our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. There is a lovely, open terrace on the second floor. The breakfast was a tasty, plentiful treat. Town center is close and the walk to town interesting. Thank you for the perfect start to our Mexican vacation.
This was a enjoyable place to stay, on a quiet street within easy walking distance of the centre of Merida. I was impressed with the helpfulness of the reception staff and the breakfast - a daily special cooked to order. The room was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the effort that had gone into the towel swans - I'd seen these elsewhere, but this was the only place to use self-adhesive eyes to remarkably life-like effect. Tremendous.
In late April we were 5 persons to stay in this hotel for 3 nights with 2 rooms! Each room was with 3 beds, 2 single & 1 double! The room & bathroom were clean and spacious! The breakfast was changed every day and we can re-order if not full! The quality & quantity was good! For the staff of hotel, they were helpful with sincere! They can speak English and it was very important to us, being non Spanish speaker! Also we booked a day tour in hotel coz the Mayan Ecotour was in this hotel! It was so convenient! Being not in central of downtown , it was so noisy to wake up us in morning but we just took around 5-10 mins to downtown! Also we took a taxi from Merida airport to it, which was easy, cheap and comfortable! Just $280 peso for a big taxi (5 persons) and credit card was accepted coz there was no money exchange shop in Merida airport!
It was literally a last munute decision to visit Merida-which im so glad i did with its beaurifully narrow alleyways lovely friendly people and great sights... Many Thanks to TripAdvisor reviews as always i chose Hotel Del Peregrino and it turned out to be everything i wanted. Both David and Granco were so friendly and great to talk to as well as patient and helpful with suggestions & directions to places and the many other questions i had. The hotel was so quaint and cosy wirh a huge comfortable room and bathroom very spuc and span...as a lady alone i felt so safe at all times in the hotel...even on the streets of Merida. Breakfast was perfect and the free filtered water a great help I highly reccomend Hotel Del Peregrino on your trip to Merida...perfect location too to all the main attractions in town. Mucha Gracias David Franco & Everyone at Hotel DP !
The Hotel is a small, nice, quiet and very clean place not far from the city center. The employees were very friendly and helped us with every question. We had everything we needed and more! We would come again.
We had the most fantastic time at the Hotel del Peregrino! This place is sooooo charming! Built in the early 1900's - staying here is like going back in time. So much character...the architecture is lovely. The lay out is so cool. It's so wild how the center of the building is open air! You can see the beautiful sky above while eating breakfast. The whole place is very clean, homey & welcoming. As awesome as the building & rooms are - the staff is even better! I must agree with several of the other comments i've read - the staff really does make this hotel excel!! They really are TOP NOTCH here! David & Franco were SO helpful & kind. They were such a great help with booking tours, taxi cabs, giving us directions around the city & giving us helpful tips + advice for the best places to eat and must see's around the city. No matter how busy ....they always took the time to greet us & make us feel welcomed. The ladies cooking our delicious breakfast each day were a joy too. Speaking of which - the breakfast was so yummy!!! What a treat it was trying out the different Mexican breakfast foods each morning. Toast with delicious raspberry jelly....yummy fruit with yogurt + granola....coffee/juice & the daily special! What a great way to start the day! Although i never saw the cleaning staff - they certainly do a nice job. Each day we would return from exploring the city or come back from a tour we had booked to find our room clean as a whistle with fresh linens on the beds and a cool 'towel sculpture' to greet us from the bed! Swans, a lobster and even a puppy dog LOL How cool is that!!??!! We truly loved the place & enjoyed our stay very much. Unfortunately we just weren't able to fit into our schedule all the amazing Mayan ruins & cenotes we wanted to see....Nor could we fit in all the shopping & eating we wanted to do! 6 days were not enough!! We are definitely going to have to come back.... and when we do - the Hotel del Peregrino is without a doubt where we will be staying!!! Thank you guys sooo much for everything 😘
