Melville Vacation Packages

I'll start with my biggest complaint. When I checked in the desk told me that they don't do daily housekeeping. if I wanted housekeeping i would have to stop at the desk and request it each day. Then he told me if I ran out of towels I would need to bring him my used towels to the desk and he would give me new ones that I could bring back to my room! Since when is it acceptable for hotels to expect their GUESTS to do their housekeeping? Isn't that part of the"hotel" experience to not have to do that stuff everyday? The lobby is very nice and it was clean. They are doing some renovations so I'm hoping some of observations will be addressed. One of the elevator doors is absolutely grimy and had drip marks going down it. The inside want much better. The floor tiles were nailed into the floor. The room was fine. Nothing fancy. The TV must have been in the way out because it was very pixilated and freezing the two days I was there. The lighting in the room was VERY old and the shades on the sconces had holes in them. The bathtub had a big rust stain near the drain. The air conditioner stopped working. Because if a screaming child at 9:00 at night I asked to change rooms which they did but they made me in my pajamas return my old key to the front desk. I couldn't just leave then in the room. Another example of their guests doing their work. I would not recommend this hotel to others.
