I have stayed here many times. Modern clean and well located serviced rooms / apartments. The 1 and 2 bed apartments are roomy enough and have everything you need for a short stay. The only issue might be the road noise on the rooms very close to the road, if you are a very light sleeper. I stayed with 3 others and none of us had trouble sleeping. Request a room away from the road if you think it might be an issue
Great apartment and friendly crew! Felt very at home. Stayed here for 5 weeks and not a single disgruntle (except the bed was too comfortable!) Thank you to the staff you have definitely made me feel very welcome! See you in November!
This hotel was good. Stayed in a Studio, and the check in receptionist was able to give me an 11:30am check out. Was in the area for a party, hence staying here. Handy to the big (and eternally busy) Westfield across the road, and a 7Eleven handy too. Appreciated that the rooms have balconies, great for fresh air.
would not recommend this property although it is conveniently located near the mall due to the unpleasant service level experienced. the staff who attended to us on check in were grouchy and unfriendly. After I discovered 2 items missing after check out, the 2 staff who attended to my call made it very apparent that I was inconveniencing them to look for it and were defensive on the phone. we stayed in several places in our 1 week stay in melbourne and this experience ranks punthill as the worst.
We stayed here with a group of basketballers (high school) and these apartments were fantastic! Very roomy, classy and clean, with full kitchens and bathroom with laundry. We stayed on the ground floor and had a lovely leafy outdoor area. Even though it is close to a large intersection it is surprisingly quiet. Staff were excellent. Has small gym and pool which was great for kids cool down sessions. Large dining area which was great for a large group. Could not fault this place, we will definitely be back.
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was really nice. The location is good if you have an event in the eastern Melbourne suburbs. It is very close to a large shopping centre and really nice restaurants. We drove from interstate so free parking was one of the reasons we chose this accommodation. There are the basic kitchen items if you want to cook (as well as a microwave), a TV in the living room and one in the bedroom. The bed is a huge king; enough hanging space, though the wardrobe does not have enough hanging length for a dress (even a short one); it is nice to have a drawer next to the bed. The bathroom is huge and boasts a spa bath (with shower over); having a washing machine and dryer is great, there is the usual shampoo and condition but you need to bring body lotion/hand cream (I forgot). The balcony is nice for morning coffee. Our room was along the side overlooking the car park so not noisy. I would book a room at the back if those on the main road do not have double glazed windows.
Stayed here for nigh on a couple of weeks in December for work - somewhat isolated location (around 40km out of the city centre), and there isn't a huge amount to do in the local area (bar a Westfield shopping centre), but the property is clean, well-maintained and the mini-apartments are comfortable and contain all necessary mod-cons if you are over in Melbourne for any lengthy period of time. Staff are also helpful most of the time, if a little surly looking at certain times of the day! One major gripe though - the wifi is pay, and is not cheap! Bear this in mind before looking at the total price of any stay of more than a few days.
5th time we have stayed here and still very happy with this property and its features. Room clean, comfortable, quiet, free parking and so close to Westfield Knox for all our crissy shopping and. Thanks to Barry & Judy, will be back again in 2017.
The beds at Punt Hill Knox are the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Free on site parking. If you are a light sleeper, definitely ask for a room at the back of the property.
I have stayed here twice recently, first in a studio & in a 1 bedroom apartment. The rooms facing stud road are VERY noisy but obviously can't be helped, If possible stay I'd suggest to stay in one of the side or back rooms, private & quiet. Rooms are modern, clean & very comfortable, the 1 bedroom apartment was fantastic. Location is great, Knox city shopping centre directly across the road & the freeway only a minute drive away. The management however were very rude on both occasions, the first time was fine as I only had to deal with them during check in (difficult check in) & check out. Last weekend though my card didn't work to get into the building (you require card access after 8pm, & obviously also for lift & room access) after calling the manager who rejected my calls I called the head office number to explain the situation, they were lovely & said they would call the night manger to let me in, after waiting half hour in the cold & rain I called head office again & they explained the manager should of come out straight away & they would call them again. Lucky for me at this point a friendly couple let me into the building so I could wait in warm foyer. Another 15 mins later I called head office again as the manager was STILL not there & started to make arrangements for alternate accommodation as I assumed I wouldn't be getting into my room that night. Finally the manager appeared frustrated & rude, when I explained my card wasn't working & I had been stuck outside for so long she argued that she was in the office 10 mins earlier & I wasn't there or outside, when I showed here my call log she became very defensive & dismissive, gave me my new card & told me to make sure it doesn't happen again (not sure how it was my fault their card wasn't working) no apologies or concern that I was paying for a room I couldn't access. After speaking with a few people that have stayed here they have all said they've had issues with cards not working & the management being very rude in general. If they had people working there that had some idea of customer service or general consideration of people I would rate it 5 & stay there again very happily, But I would rather spend my money elsewhere.
