Very small , clean ish. Tried to cover odours with a heavily perfumed air freshener. Suited the purpose of an overnight visit to family in hospital. Directly on tram lines to city and walking distance to hospital.
We stayed on the 4th floor, the room had a single bed and a queen bed. The room had a well equipped.kitchenette. however the room.was little.compact but was comfortable. The room had a heater cum aircon which also saved us from the outside cold.the hotel is just 5min walk to queen Victoria market. The room comes with basic toiletries and found the bathroom little small if you are well built.the reception was friendly. You can just drop of the keys at the Dropbox if u are checking out early as the reception is open.from 9.am to 6.pm.would definitely stay here next time when I come to Melbourne.
If you don't mind accommodation aimed more at the student and budget traveller market then this is certainly one to check out. Situated within a few hundred metres of Queen Victoria Markets with a tram stop outside the door and/or a 15 minute walk downtown or to Carlton's Lygon Street restaurant strip: the rooms as small for an apartment hotel but clean, the bed comfortable, the pillows plentiful and the staff helpful. The reception closes at 6pm so if you're a late arrival make sure you contact them beforehand. Only real complaint was that the ironing board was broken so made for a challenge. Little street noise evident as premises located in a quieter section of town. Unless you are staying for more than a week and qualify for a free room clean you're up for a $15 room refresher charge. A bit steep particular when it means you have to use the same towels for that time. Wifi was barely functional which is a common issue for most hotels (and a source of constant annoyance). They should be quite upfront with this saying that your chances of good wifi is equal to winning Lotto. Beware that level 1 is below street level and if you wind up here and have a door to the outside (which I had) check that it is locked. Mine wasn't and I didn't notice this for several days! Overall if you're prepared to accept some minor issues for the sake of saving cash for spending on the trip then take a look at this one.
You can't expect much for $110 a night, and we were just expecting a comfortable bed and a nights rest. We stayed in room 507 which had a giant stain on the carpet. We found a long black hair in the bed which was clearly not ours. It was cold so I dragged the blanket out of the cupboard and it had white stains on it! The bed was hard and lump and hurt both my husband and my backs. And we woke covered in bites both nights. we suspect this room may have Bed Bugs! yuck.
We had a small room, but it was clean and quiet so that is really all that mattered. It had a table and chairs, Double bed and a small kitchenette. The bathroom was extremely small and did lack some space to put your bathroom items on, but it is manageable for a few days. The location is fantastic with a tram outside and a short walk to the Queen Victoria Markets. There is a vending machine and laundry in the basement if you need a drink or snack. The price was reasonable for what it was and the location.
Super close to hospitals, husband was in royal melbourne was a 5 minute walk. Value for money just needed somewhere to sleep and shower and was comfotable enough for that, was equipt for a longer stay with kitchen facilities too though.
As the others have said it is small....very small. A normal hotel room layout except it is at least a metre short everywhere. I dunno how a fatty would even fit in the shower. There is a balcony that holds the noisy A/C unit, just, but it is taking up desperately needed space. The wardrobe was hard to find as it was a cupboard added onto the kitchenette. The cupboard was a waste of space as well as it was so short you couldn't even hang shirts up in it. The bed was only just a double size and there was only 1 bedside table. The TV was hung on a wall at 90 degrees to the bed making it difficult to see comfortably and all the ABC channels and occasionally SBS kept pixilating. Even the clock radio wouldn't pick up the ABC!! all you could get was crap rap.
Yep you get what you pay for a tiny noisy room and uncomfortable bed poor reception doing her best but to top this off if you choose secure parking its 5 mins walk down dark streets to a parking area where I was unable to get out and had to wait an hour for assistance. I will never ever return.
Tiny but clean rooms. The rooms include a well equiped kitchenette which can be handy. The double bed is very small and therefore uncomfortable. The bathroom is also small but is efficient and with a good shower. The motel is located at a 30 minute walk from the city centre and close to public transport. The wifi is okay. The reception ours are very limited. The motel lacks atmosphere but is a good choice if you dont wanna spend to much money.
As a family of 8 adults we booked 4 double rooms. The rooms are very clean and modern but small. The bed is comfy but TV in some rooms is in an awkward position sideways to the bed. There is microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. Bathroom small with no bench space but there is a hair dryer. There is a communal lounge on one,of the floors with a drinks machine. Staff are friendly and helpful. Situated on the Northern fringe of the city it is on a tram route. Walking distance to the Victoria markets and plenty of restaurants and cafes. It is quiet even though it is in a busy street.
