Never stayed in the Docklands before but enjoyed our time at the Sebel. Can get busy at the weekends, but quieter during the week. The rooms are better that the reception (don't be put off), and some have good views. Recently completed and done up to a high standard. Convenient for rather empty restaurants in this slightly strange neighbourhood - which gives every impression of waiting for an economic boom that never quite happened! Well worth checking out, nothing to complain about, and we stay in these kind of hotels and above 30+ times a year.
Checking out a different location every weekend we need to be in Melbourne at present, great supermarket opposite, handy to Docklands & good coffee first thing down stairs. Hefty deposit which I think is over the top $200 for 1 night when the room was less, think the office of fair trading need to reign in this deposit practice. Locks up funds that don’t return for 5 or so days. Depending on your bank Great size room, pool & gym. Parking extra. Easy access to city, taxi or stroll, not a bad little spot. After a week away & sleep over in Melbourne for the night the washing machine/dryer came in handy to catch up before heading home.
We stayed in a 2 bdr apartment with our 2 kids for 3nights. Great value for the size, location and facilities. Next door to the Docklands waterfront restaurants, the district shopping and Melbourne eye observation wheel. Easy access to trams and skybus. The hotel is nice and modern, with an indoor pool and rooftop tennis court. Staff are nice, and the restaurant is also quite good. Great base to explore Melbourne, just out of the city.
This was a great location close to tram and Marvel stadium Beautiful Harbour views, on request. Comfortable, clean, well presented. Beautiful towels. We were not happy with check in as I had requested early check in with flight times from Perth but we could not get our room until 2.00pm. We left our luggage there and was told we would get a call as soon as a room was available. After walking the streets of Melbourne for over 6 hours after not having any sleep over night due to flying we went back to the hotel and thankfully our room was ready. However, we had not had a call to say the room was ready as promised. Very disappointing. We found the front desk staff not as pleasant and helpful as expected.
Great property, in good location easy access to airport by taxi/uber/car and free trams to the city and Southbank. Friendly and helpful staff in all areas. Only reason for not giving "excellent" is the restaurant isn't open every night and the menu is very limited.
We booked a deal through Luxury Escapes for a nice long weekend. Whilst all the inclusions were not provided, our stay was still enjoyable and would recommend this hotel. With breakfast included at the onsite restaurant, it was a nice relaxing weekend. Located in Docklands, this hotel is easy to find and is quiet - perhaps eerily so when we checked in on the Friday afternoon. We were welcomed to the hotel and checked in quickly by the front desk team. Our room was located on the 6th floor and was spacious with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen which made it very comfortable. With an onsite gym, any avid gym goer or exercise aficionado would be impressed, especially with the glass wall of water providing privacy to the pool. A well equipped hotel with friendly staff and good amenities, I would happily recommend this hotel, especially with a skybus stop close by! Just make sure you research the area first as there isn't much around and you would need to do a nice walk into the city.
Hotel was very modern and clean. Great location for exploring the Docklands and with plenty of nearby public transport to get you elsewhere. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Close to a great variety of restaurants/cafes. Bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning in each room.
When we go back to Melbourne this hotel will not be our choice. First, walking into the rooms they smelled like someone had dumped a bottle of cheap cologne on the carpet. We had to open all the windows and doors to air it out. The rooms were dated and the place just gave an aura of 1970's and not in a good way. The price we paid for 2 rooms was substantial and the service was just ok. The rooms we had were 2 bedroom suites but in the bedrooms there was not enough room to place your suitcase on the floor or on the provided stand to either hang clothes or to use the suitcase. The temperature control units were finicky at best and did not warm the rooms when asked. The beds were comfortable, This location is close to the tram and some decent restaurants but I am sure there are better places to stay for the money we were charged. A 3 day stay was north of $1700AUD
Never had such a terrible experience in a hotel that is supposed to be of a high standard. Let’s start with the so called High Speed WiFi they advertise, you were lucky if you got 2Mbps download speed - I get better in rural New Zealand! Secondly, room service - or lack thereof.. breakfast is a small selection of four items. Dinner, doesn’t exist! Arriving on the first night I discover the restaurant doesn’t even open until Thursday, wasn’t any help to me on the Sunday. I opted out of House Keeping on first two days because you get a voucher for each day - only got one voucher. Put the sign up to have my room cleaned on the third - no sign of house keeping at all that day. Luckily they serviced the room on the forth - by then the bins were full! The only thing going for this place is the location and cheap rates - certainly not the color palate or the stench in the room upon first entering. Air conditioning in bedroom also didn’t work! Thankfully it’s a small hotel room and doesn’t need two units to warm or cool the place. Not impressed - this place brings a bad name to the Accor Group which I usually love.
I had to pay $788 for 2 nights get very bad service no breakfast only pancakes when asked for refund first ignored then when came back with booking.com agreed for refund and claimed it is only $12 bet person Please book with out breakfast and for the location ignore the service
