Heard so much about this beautiful city and its access to cultural and culinary offerings and we chose to stay in Rodeway Inn for 2 nights. The hotel was well located and easy to get to as it is in the city. Our room was clean well maintained and this was the first bathroom we had found to be well lit after so many years of traveling in this part of the country. The staff especially the maid were friendly and efficient and we found our room to be nicely made up with cleans towels on our return each evening. Breakfast was not included in the room rate but the owners throw in pots of coffee fruits and Danish pastries and these were available in the Lobby. I found this to be a nice gesture and they even replenished the coffee pots when they were exhausted.
Stayed here for work and loved it. Rooms were very clean ,comfortable and quiet. The parking was a little tricky for bigger vehicles . But the front desk lady helped us out. We also enjoyed the restaurant and lounge which is in the same parking lot. We will definitely stay again.
I choose hotels for our trip based on TA reviews. I think this Rodeway deserves 4 stars because of the class it is in, one shouldn't be too harsh in their expectations as it was a good value. I stay in this type of hotel after a real long drive and don't want to worry about my "road weary" appearance or having to walk through a hotel lobby with all the luggage for just a quick over night stay. The most important thing to mention is how kind, courteous, and accommodating the gentleman who checked us in was. We drove straight through from south of Sacramento so didn't arrive until after 10:30pm. I chose this hotel because you can park right outside your room which makes it easier to load and off load vehicle. To rate these are the Pros: 1. Clean!!!! 2. Great Staff 3. Easy off and on freeway 4. Gas station in same p/l as hotel 5. Newer remodel with very clean shower which was great. Cons: 1a. No fault of hotel but in same parking lot as Bar/Grill. It might be fine if you know area but to a traveler who is unfamiliar in this location, it created a sense of not being safe. This is only mentioned for the female traveler who has anxiety being alone in a room at night. 1b. When I woke up the next morning, there were several cars parked with people next to hotel and gas station, just outside my door, which reinforced not being sure of the area's safety. This is again just for a female who travels alone kind of information. 2. Though bar right next door to our downstairs room, they weren't that noisy but had potential of people drinking being close to where you are parked. 3. Our room smelled like old smoke which is not fault of hotel as they clearly have marked on door, "no smoking". I could see they make every effort to keep room clean.
Quick overnight stay on a long road trip. Room was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of places to eat near by. Continental breakfast was disappointing. Choice of cereals was Fruit Loops or Raisin Bran.
Traveling alone with my dog between Seattle and San Francisco. Ashland was a good stop before heading over the pass. Rates very reasonable, pet fee $15. Room very basic and clean. Near grocery store and several restaurants.
We stopped in here on the way down to California as there was a blizzard going on. This is our third visit here and it's always been a great place to stay because the restaurants and coffee shops close by. Very affordable for Ashland. Located right off the freeway. Very clean and comfortable. For those of you with Pets they do take pets also.
They Missed one star just because beds are a bit hard, but parking was easy, staff is very friendly, and rooms are spotlessly clean. Bathroom seems new with granite countertop and shower walls. Cozy and simple; I'd definitely stay again!
Excellent lodging, value, service, breakfast was great. Felt very welcomed, great staff.... best hotel bed I've slept in... well in a long, long time. It's only about five short minutes from downtown but the value and location make it well worth the stay.
Old motel, not updated recently but still clean. Not luxurious by any standard. Barely passable. Avoid rooms near the restaurant bar next door as loud bar noise late. Rooms in single story area we stayed in and were quiet. I doubt we would return as for the price. $80 I think can do better.
It's not within walking distance of downtown, but it's only a short drive. This is a nice, clean option for those of us that are only in town for a day or two to see a play and don't want to pay a lot for a place to stay.
