Nice Staff Hotel needs Upgrades

The hotel staff is great, the breakfast bar is great, the hotel however has limited parking spaces. The rooms are out dated no night stands, no digital alarm clock, no extra chair in the room. I did not like it felt I was staying in a crappy place. The staff on the other had, they were Excellent

Second Time was the Worst

This was my second time staying at the Plaza Rosa, I would never stay there again. The hotel was trying to get us for "extras" since our 1st day. A friend and I booked a room with two beds, they read us the fine print that said this was just a preference. An extra $10 a night. We had a friend over for a few hours one night, they charged us an extra $40 (a lot in Colombian pesos, almost a full night's stay) and embarrassed our friend into having to show her ID. I've been to Medellín and Colombia several times now, have many friends there and understand there are issues with "pre-paid services." But local hotel staff know very well who is and who isn't "pre-paid." On top of this the Internet is horrendous. The hotel and rooms are very dim/gloomy and it needs a major upgrade. Pay a few extra $$$ and stay at Art Hotel, Dietz, LePark or elsewhere. At least until Plaza Rosa has a major renovation of both interior structure and staff.

Horrible hotel with Horrible management

As we checked in, the front desk refused to give 2 keys, even though it was 2 people staying in one room. She very rudely said it was the hotel policy since they did not have too many key cards. Later the manager arrived who was a pure idiot and should not have been given this job. When we arrived in the room, it was stinky and smelly. The air contioner was a single unit a/c unit which was very old and made too much noise, so we could not sleep very well. The bed mattress was cheap and hard like in old hotels. The bathroom was very tiny with no fan. Not enough towels. Overall, it is the most horrible hotel I have been to. I no longer trust Expedia's star rating system and because of this experience, I will no longer use Expedia webpage in the future.

Good hotel

The hotel is situated in a good neighborhood and the staff is very friendly. The only problem was the noise from the street below. Other than that, we had a fantastic time. Would recommend this hotel.

Near to good restaurants and Parque LLeras.

Near to good restaurants and Parque Lleras. Very old furniture and towels. Staff not that pleasant. It used to be a nice hotel. Stayed there before and enjoy the hotel. Not anymore.

Guess

If you have a guess that ether wants to use the bathroom or have some drinks at the room, you need to pay for them to come up there, so I believe its not right as you already paid for the hotel, the guess will not stay over night nor eat free breakfast, so why is that any guess needs to pay very ridicules.

Good location

Rooms are clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Main desk attendants speak English. Breakfast is ok, and plentiful. However, the cleaning personnel make way too much noise outside of the rooms in the morning.

Terrible noisy, dirty hotel without helpful staff.

About rooms: Dirty rooms, one without AC, not enough towels, chains to lock hanging by on screw on very damaged frame, paint damaged by water around bathroom. They made the bed without removing hairs (body and head) from my previous night. Hotel staff did not support any requests (they don't care), tried to charge me taxes twice, very noisy room. I normally spend around 80 nights on hotels per year, this is my first complaint in 3 years.

Medellin Hotel nice NY style type of stay.

I was given a room in the corner. It was not so pleasing in the corner I wanted a better room but was tired and just accepted it. I told Expedia to add a guest they did not so they charged me when a friend came just to come to my room to get some xmas gifts. I had the print out requesting a second guest but they did not honer it. The breakfast was great and had a banquet style layout. If you do not know how to eat Colombian food ask or watch others make a plate that's what i did. The lobby was great had vending machines and fresh OJ machine computers and wi fi so it was nice to hang out. Next door to a 24 hour spa get pedi mani or a massage pretty awesome.

Average hotel for average price

Nice hotel in great location. Most of the staff in the front desk speak English but a couple of times there is awas a lady by herself and I had trouble communicating. I was having issues with my safe in my room and it was very frustrating. Breakfast was nice organized and the staff was friendly there. Room service was efficient except one night they put a single sheet on my queen bed and it messed with my night sleep. Once I had a Do Not Disturb sign on my door and I was sleeping in the evening and someone entered my room which was annoying.

Good for the price, great location, good breakfast Buffett. I stayed again because it was worth the bargain. The check-in was very busy and took longer than it should have. People who arrived after I did got checked-in to their room before me.

Business

I didn't like the experience in this hotel, specially because the low quality in the rooms, AC make terrible noise I couldn't rest, they only left a little bit of toilet paper the two nights I stayed, the TV didn't work the second night. The only thing valuable is the attention, everybody very helpful and nice!

Hotel and Medellin

Very convenient location for El Poblado - Parque Llqueras - reasonably safe area - as everywhere in Colombia - keep your eyes open, glance behind you routinely - and keep your money low in a front pocket or on a safety belt (remember the average wage in Colombia - for those lucky enough to have a job is around 500-600 US dollars month) Hotel rooms very nice - beds hard as nails - same as everywhere Colombia - good breakfast - you will need Google Translate app on your phone. Avoid downtown late at night- Medellin is a beautiful city
