La Copa Hotel

Recent guest reviews

The most important feature for me it was that as I was traveling with my toddler, there is a huge grass area in which my child loved to play.

My first room, the bathroom light wouldnt work, so I was reloacted. Second room was clean, but there were still many things that needed repaired. The hotel itself is clean and in a great location, but they need to invest a little time and money to fix some things.

We enjoyed the pool. It should have free snacks at certain hours. It has a great location and excellent breakfast area.

First, it is the first time I do a review but I sure need to mention these points. [...]The hotel was very old which I have no porblem with it, but the attitude from the people. I have always booked using [...] and I felt this person do not appreciate [...] business at all. I just wanted to share this bad experience with you. I still had a blast in McAllen, by the way they woke me up at 8:30 am telling me that check out time is at 11. Bye, Santiago

great location, but news remoduling in bathrooms

I did not appreciate the early 8am wake up by the cleaning crew.Too bad there were no do not disturb signs for the door. We could hear them coming three doors away. I'm sure other guests complained.

The rooms are in bad condition. The mattresses were soft. The bathrooms were in disrepair. The included continental breakfast was awful.

THE STAFF WAS GREAT VERY COURTEOUS AND KIND. THE BATHROOM WAS SMALL AND THE TILE HAD MILDEW. THERE WAS A RESTAURANT NEXT DOOR THAT HAD A DJ THAT PLAYED TO THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING. THE PARKING LOT WAS THE REAR ENTRANCE OF THE RESTAURANT SO THERE WERE FOUL OLD SMELLS THAT LINGERED FROM THE TRASH OF THESE BUSINESS.THE ROOM SAID NO SMOKING BUT IT HAD A FUNNY ODOR OF A SMOKERS ROOM. THE POOL WAS NICE AND CLEAN, ONE OF THE CLEANEST I HAVE SEEN AT A HOTEL.BUT OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE WAS NOT BAD, THE HOTEL DID PROVIDE THE MINIMUM ACCOMMODATIONS FOR A TRAVELER. THERE WAS A RESTAURANT DOWN THE STREET "COUNTRY COOKING" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THIS PLACE HAD A GOOD BUFFET ON SUNDAY MORNING AND THE MENUDO WAS GREAT THERE!

Ceiling was falling in. Shower had all sorts of mildew. Room had been smoked in before. Construction going on 8' away from side of hotel they stuck us in.

The Copa Hotel McAllen was an excellent option, however the room was shorter than I expected, or shorter in copare with other hotel near of it. The location inside the mall was the best.

All the services are good

U read al the previous reviews and was a bit shy of staying here. Wow, was I impressed! Rooms were very clean, swimming pool was great, the free breakfast. There was a weight room, and a computer room and they had just opened the bar/lounge. When I checked in they gave me two tickets for free drinks during happy hours. Bed was very comfortable, each had 4 pillows. My room had a fridge, micro wave, a safe and all the shampoo I needed. Walked out the door right to the mall to shop before walking across the parkinglot to the airport. I would go back here everytime I come to McAllen for sure.
