What a little gem of a find. I found this lovely place on Expedia after looking at loads of Riads. From the moment we walked into the courtyard I knew we'd pick the right one. Our room was spotless and everything is provided even down to the complimentary Moroccan slippers. The food is superb we had lovely breakfast and a fab evening meal. Nothing is to much trouble every member of their team is kind and very friendly. I can normally find a negative about most places we stay around the world but this one I'm struggling. Would I go back 100% yes!
We booked this Riad from the recommendation of our Moroccan guide and stayed there for 2 nights (too short though). We absolutely agree with all the reviews. This beautiful place is located in a best location in Medina. Staff, namely Manager Karine, Breakfastman Oma, Bellboy Abdul, and others, they were all great. They paid attention to details to provide great service to all customers, despite some minor problems with the drainage in the shower and noise from the air-conditioner. We each even got a pair of Moroccan leather slippers as a Souvenir. Although they look exotic and I love them, they unfortunately stinks and my husband had to wrap it away. Now after 2 weeks at home, they smell better already :-) Riad Idra is the most beautiful hotel with the best service we have ever experienced and we totally love it. We'll definitely be back !!!
This place is just wonderful. The staff is great. And in particular, the manager, Karine is over the top. Only 7 rooms, which makes this a special place, great location and whatever services one needs, the staff responds with real pleasure and satisfaction. The rooms and entire place is decorated in beautiful Moroccan style. Clean and up to date with all amenities necessary. Highly recommended. Robert, Arizona USA
A very beautiful and peaceful environment, designed to give a relaxing and memorable stay. The courtyard is the place to come back to, sit and unwind , whilst enjoying a refreshing mint tea amongst the palms and the gentle sounds of running water. The African room and library are both good rooms to enjoy moments of solitude and read or simply cool down after a day in the heat of the summer. It is worth indulging in a Hamman scrub in the Riads Spa. The rooms are exceptional, clean, cool & comfortable, decorated to a very high standard. Best of all about this Riad are its people. Warm & friendly, giving an outstanding & very professional service. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome and spoilt by the staff's attentive hospitality. The service was better than some 5 star hotels. The culinary experience here was to die for, though breakfast on the roof terrace was a highlight of the day. Everything about the Riad Idra is perfect. Would struggle to find one fault, thanks to the team for making our stay so special. We loved staying here. Its a real gem. Kerry & Evan
The riad is absolutely beautiful! Everything is detailed to perfection. We arrived late at night and had someone from the Riad pick us up at the airport. Upon arriving we were shown our rooms and given mint tea and sweets! The following morning we had a beautifully detailed and delicious breakfast on the rooftop. We made appts in the riad for the hammam; which we loved! What made our stay even more relaxing and comforting was the kind and helpful staff! I highly recommend this Riad when staying in Marrakech!
Stayed here based in TA reviews and was not disappointed. This is one excellent hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. I can't say enough good things about the hotel staff and how accommodating they were. The room was really very nice and exceeded my expectations. The food at dinner and breakfast was quite good and prepared very well. All I all and excellent hotel in Marrakech and one I can recommend. The hotel has a very good airport shuttle service which you can book in advance.
Cannot express in so few words how amazing this place is. We spent 4nights here on our first time in Marrakesh and it was the highlight of our visit. We were waited on hand and foot by the loveliest people. Nothing is too much trouble. The room was sheer luxury with unexpected extras not advertised. Soft leather slippers, fresh roses, toiletries, fruit and nuts..the list goes on. The beds and linen were of the highest quality and every part of the riad was spotlessly cleaned at all times. I would recommend booking a meal on the first night before you get yr bearings as the food is fabulous and served by the wonderful Mr. Omar. On arrival Amine or Karine will talk through a map of the area with lots of advice. Ten minutes of invaluable info! The lovely girls who see to your room twice a day also give the best hammam in Marrakesh and the massage is to die for...definitely book it on arrival it will set you up for a week! We travel twice a year and rarely visit the same place twice but we will return to Riad Idra again and encourage our friends to visit too. Thank you to you all at the Idra for giving us the best time xx
The Guardian travel section is frequently my go to first resource for unique travel experiences. The riad arranged our hotel transfer (thankfully.... But no one told me that the drivers are outside of the airport building in one area about 100 metres away)... No issue.... We found our ground. The lovely hotel worker was waiting for us at the drop off spot. The service was absolutely impeccable all of the time. Karine, the manager, was spot on fantastic for everything. Eating was a pleasure because they don't allow outside guests inside to keep the serenity of the space. The suite was very "designer-designer" polished. Not being an interior designer, I admire fantastic details in a world where generic dreadfulness is the norm. We tend to steer away from major chains where the same concept is boringly repeated across the globe. Riad Idra is intimate and very comfortably sophisticated.
Read the reviews get on your computer and book. The place and staff are divine and the breakfast and dinners on the rooftop are some of the best meals we have had especially the lamb dinner. Being dropped off where the cars have to stop we were met by a lovely young guy who organised a guy with a cart to take our bags. You need to tip between 2_5 euro or carry them yourself. Was starting to think coming here might be out of my comfort zone but after a short walk and down an ally - which I would not walk down at night at home - we arrived. Omg what an oasis awaited behind that door. Karine is the manager and she and her team are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. From recommendations for guides, dinners, money changers just about everything. We stayed in the Ilya room and as an interior designer I loved it. So soft and serene. Have visions of transforming my bedroom when we get home. But husband had a heart attack - and it really wouldn't suit! Every tiny detail has been thought out and the little touches are lovely. The beauty of this place is when you sit and have a drink Dinner or breakfast on the terrace you can't hear anything except the calling to prayer and the birds singing which all the Madness of the Medina carried on minutes from your door The place is a true gem and we will be coming back asap. We Loved it.
I went to the riad in April and had lunch there with my cousin. We went to the riad and were warmly welcomed by the riad owner Karine. She told us some things about the riad and let us meet the chef and showed us the riad. I felt very welcome! We had a delicious lunch and the service was absolutely perfect! After lunch we stayed a little in the riad because it was soo beautiful! Everything was perfect, the service, the food, the riad itself of course! An absolute must if you go to Marrakesh!
