Lovely, helpful staff. No payment was requested on arrival. We were showed to our room. When our keycard didn't work we were given a key to use instead. Room was clean and very comfortable.Hotel is around the corner from menara mall and about 20 mins walk from the square/kasbah/koutoubia mosque. Breakfast is good, consisting of juices, yogurt, eggs , pastries etc. Really enjoyable. Would stay here again as nice and quiet.
We all know Morroco is different - with adventures leaking at every corner of the street, unless you travel with a group. Coming from the airport, our "booking.com" reservation could not be found; it took 20min to register us; on our last night (coming back from the South) we got a 20% reduction without anyone mentioning it. Our car organised by the hotel was cheap (but really old). AC working but not adjustable in terms of temperature etc. Pool refreshing with water quality down in the afternoon. Breakfast best when you are early - avoiding the jam of numerous families queuing up at the buffet. In essence, rather 3.5 stars than 4 - but relatively quiet, and a perfect start base for people heading to the medina (20min footwalk or 35DRH for taxi).
Don't go to this place, you will have bad experience in Marrakech. I asked to go to the pool, the front desk viciously replied if I see you there, I will call the cops on you. That immediately made me think, what kind of clients these people are used to? The front dest is mean, unprofessional and very rude. If you don't show signs that you are a Guf prince, or someone careless with his money, they will not bother serving you. I once tried to go to the dance club downstairs, they didn't let me stay there long enough. They will force you to buy drinks or they will kick you out despite the fact that I already had enough drinks in the restaurant section of the club, and also I was the only customer that night there, and also the club was vacant. No-one there, except me and the servers. Nothing is maintained there, the pool table was broken. The staff didn't bother apologising they just said well that's how it is, they didn't even bother refunding our coins...
Pros: -easy in and out of the city -walkable to Medina -free parking (not a lot of spots though) -english-speaking concierge (as of the time of writing) -big pool -kiddie pool -big breakfast Cons: -we reserved and paid for four people but it was like pulling teeth to get a bath towel for each of us. Weirdly, after asking for more towels 4 times, the porter went to another unreserved room to grab the extra towels for us! -pool good but freezing and the walkways need to be retiled -pool towel deposit was 100 Dh, if they even had any left by noon -our sheets were clean but needed to be delinted a bit -ask for a floor above floor 1 if possible, or else you're sleeping over the loud nightclub music
Stayed from Friday March 17th til Monday 20th March 2017. The hotel was nice but by no means luxurious. I was with friends and therefore had very limited input in choosing the hotel, I would have probably chosen a higher star hotel. This hotel would definitely have got a 5 star rating but for the terrible food. For 3 nights I paid £85 half board, this was very good because I had my own room. The breakfast had a very limited choice, same as the evening meal, a real shame considering the fact that the hotel was very good value for money. You could tell that the el andalous hotel has had its day ( probably in the 80s and early 90s ) everything was dated and the hotel could do with a good refurb. Having said that the rooms were clean, well serviced and of a generous size ( I had 2 double beds in my room ). The hotel is situated in a middle class area about 15 minutes from the airport and very close, 5 minutes walk , from the local shopping mall ( menara mall ). There's not a lot to see or do around the area so it's very quite. If you're getting this hotel at a good price then fine, if not I wouldn't bother. Oh yeah, and bring your own food.
Pros: - Staff are friendly and even let us print our boarding passes - Vast selection for buffet dinner (salads, three types of pasta, potatoes and chicken) and breakfast (cereal, rice pudding, soup, eggs scrambled or omelette, juices, potatoes and bread) - Night bar is open till late with music and drinks - Minutes away by walk to Menara Mall Cons: - Did not give a 4-star rating because upon arrival we were given check in keys which led us to rooms belonging to other people with their belongings. This made me feel uneasy and hoped that we would not have anyone walking into our room - Needs some refurbishment in rooms
I made a reservation on the hotel pages in November and got a booking confirmation from hotel but few days before the trip hotel emailed me with cancellation what made me huge organisational problems.
The Hotel El Andalous is a good basic hotel with good accomadations and value for the price. We had the breakfast plan which made it even better. Its and old hotel but good enough for visiting Marrakech and staying away from the hussle bussle of the old city. Close to a shopping center and super market as well as restaurants. Staff were helpfull Stayed twice at this hotel during the first and second leg of our visit to Morroco. Only problem I had was that the shower head was loose and got the whole bathroom wet. I found the cleaning staff on the floor and they promptly cleaned up. A good place to stay if you don´t want to pay alot.
Nice hotel friendly staff in need of modernisation though chef in canteen was very nice very friendly amd nice people nice pool outside would recommend to other people wanting to stay very close to menar mall
The hotel is pitched at 4 star, but I suspect it wouldn't compare to a 4 star in the UK. It is however well situated, just a short walk away from west edge of the walled city. The hotel is quite pleasant and the staff are friendly and helpful. We waited a couple of hours for our room service to arrive, but when it did, it was nice. The pool area is very nice and was quiet in February, but likely to be very busy in hotter months, given the number of rooms. The hotel is L shaped and one wing has a nightclub on the ground floor and basement. We were on the 5th floor and could still hear the music, although it didn't go on too late. We felt that tea and coffee making facilities in the room or a communal area within the hotel would have been a nice touch. It was pain (and expensive) to keep popping down to the bar to grab a coffee.
