We enjoyed a delicious dinner which had been bought as a present for us. The venue is special in itself and the window table was an added bonus. The menu offered a variety of dishes to tempt us and the food was high quality and beautifully presented. Whilst the Lowry provides 5 star surroundings the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The staff made our visit so enjoyable with their friendly and welcoming attitude, but it was our waiter, Daniel, who stole the show. He took time to advise us of our menu choices in a cheerful and humorous manner. What a pleasant change to be served by staff who seem to really take pride in and enjoy their work. A wonderful treat and we look forward to returning.
A fabulous meal at your Hotel today. Great service by everyone we met. Especially Danial who was our waiter. Such a caring and efficient man. My wife’s food allergy was catered for with the upmost concern.. Looking forward to our return visit..
I am slightly late in compiling this review but I feel it is still valuable to complete. I stayed at The Lowry with my elderly mother in November on the occasion of her moving out of Manchester and travelling down to Dorset to be nearer myself and my husband. She had spent her entire life (84 years) in Manchester so this was quite a difficult move for her. However the staff at The Lowry went above and beyond to make her stay comfortable and special. Her health and mobility needs were well managed, with a change of room provided to accommodate these and attentive service in the restaurant. She was also provided with a complimentary cocktail and a room delivery of patisserie and a card to mark the occasion. Thank you so much to everyone there who made her stay memorable for all the correct reasons, from the cocktail bar staff and the restaurant team to housekeeping and front desk. A special mention must go to Sharon ( I think) the manager on duty during check in and when we left who reassured my Mum and treated her like a VIP. Thank you all so much. You deserve your high ratings.
We stayed with family for the weekend and will definitely return. The reception staff were absolutely lovely, always greeting us each time we returned to the hotel. Unknown to us, the Manchester United football team were staying the same time as us ahead of their Saturday game. My son was absolutely thrilled to watch them arrive and meet a few of them, and Rodrigo on Reception went above and beyond to arrange for tickets to the match for my husband and son. The concierge team were also wonderful, the best and friendliest we have ever experienced. Our rooms were extremely large and comfortable, and the location perfect, quiet, yet a five minute walk to Deansgate and shopping. Recommend Rosso restaurant for a lovely meal (very accommodating with children) and the Science and Industry museum. The only niggle was the breakfast was highly disorganised, with over half the tables requiring clearing and nowhere for us to sit and eat. So we gave up and went out to breakfast instead, which was a pity. Would return to this hotel whenever in Manchester, for the excellent and personal service from the reception and concierge team which made us feel so welcome.
I was taken, by my daughter, for afternoon tea. When we got there, the booking had been mixed up and they were not expecting us. But they made quite heavy work of doing this and made us feel a bit uncomfortable. After we ordered drinks, no one came to take our food order, but when they did they were very kind and friendly. The scones were delicious, but the cream and jam did not come with serving spoons, and no cake forks!!!!! The sandwiches were lovely and the staff, especially Tomas, were delightful. However the restaurant could do with a little tweak before I would award it 5/5.
Stayed here over the Easter weekend. Superb hotel with good size rooms and really great service. Other than a little hiccup over breakfast which drove us to find somewhere else to have breakfast I can’t praise this hotel enough. Concierge service was first class including finding a couple of tickets for MU v Swansea to the delight of my grandson. Shame the MU players weren’t quite so accommodating to their young fans when they arrived at the hotel the night before the match! Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good hotel in a good location in Manchester.
We came to Manchester from down south for a couple of days rest and relaxation. Superb hotel in great location for shopping and eating. lovely rooms and nice breakfast. Bar team were great especially George and faith who looked after us on both evenings. Great hospitality from the team here at the Lowry and wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Thank you for a great two days.
The Lowry is probably the best luxury property in the area and a solid choice for business or leisure. Great pre-arrival communication from the staff, who exude Northern charm while remaining helpful and professional. Had a standard room which was huge and well appointed with modern furniture and fittings. Particularly liked the chaise longue next to the large windows, although the view isn't particuarly inspiring. Only things missing are a Nespresso machine- commonplace at hotels of this standard now- and plug sockets next to the bed, which should be retrofitted immediately. The bathroom was of pretty standard hotel ilk. Not very stylish and not very big when compared to the large bedroom. No rainfall style shower. Perfectly clean however and good quality towels and Aromatherapy Associated bath products supplied. Didn't sample the breakfast but had a lovely room service lunch which was quick and delicious. The Lowry will remain my go-to Manchester hotel but I hope it stays on top of things as several luxury boutique hotels have opened across the city in the past year.
Stayed here on a business trip but took my father with me too. We loved breakfast and the evening meal . The only problem was Christian Dior was having some sort of staff party and we could not sit in the bar , because it was ridiculously loud . There was no where else to sit , and we had to take the friend that was meeting us to one of the rooms . Very nice rooms however , and lovely service . Would stay again
Booked a night in The Lowry for our anniversary. We have stayed here several times and yet again we were not disappointed. This hotel is lovely, luxurious and spotless. From checking in to checking out our stay was perfect. The staff are extremely professional and courteous. We had told the hotel we were visiting for an anniversary and after an hour of checking in there was a knock on the door and we were presented with two of the most exquisite cakes we have ever tasted. What a lovely and unexpected treat. I cannot wait to stay again!!
