This hotel is very convenient to the train station in Manchester, and if you're in town for an overnight business stay I'd say it would suffice. For vacation or romance, I would say it falls far short. I was having a sleepover with a friend who lives up north so I spent extra for a 1 bedroom suite, hoping for a bit more luxury at that price point. it was pretty much just a larger version of a stale, business traveler room. Could not find a thermostat in the room so it made for a bit of a cold night. Additionally, I had a handicapped bathroom, so the entire layout of the bathroom was just a bit off- putting as I did not need that type of layout. The morning I checked out the hotel had a heating system failure in the lobby and it felt like a freezer in the lobby - that was an odd send off.

This hotel was comfortable and convenient for a quick visit to Etihad Stadium.

First of all, the cookies!! The hotel is basically across the street from the Picadilly train station, which is excellent...you can even avoid steps and street crossings altogether if you take the right path. The hotel is modern and pretty, with aesthetically appealing sitting areas and restaurants. The view out our 6th floor room was quite nice - just buildings, but still pretty. The room doesn't have a TV but has a large Mac computer. If you aren't comfortable with them, I could see this being a negative, but I love them and enjoyed being able to watch Netflix on it in addition to regular TV channels. The remote is a little finicky, but you get used to it. Our room was a twin and the two twins could be pushed together, which was great when he was napping and I wasn't. The honor bar is empty which was nice because we used it as a fridge. The bathroom sink collected and dripped water, and the faucet was sort of high, but those were the only minor negatives - great shower (no tub). Interesting but pricey room service (of course), but tons of eating opportunities in the very nearby shopping area. A few minutes from Picadilly Gardens, the Canal (gay-friendly area), the Arndale Center (a HUGE mall), and the City Centre/Printworks building and upscale King Street were maybe a 10 minute walk. Easily the nicest & most comfortable hotel on our 3 week trip through the British Isles, and we got a great deal on it!

Check-in was easy and efficient. Hotel was just a block or so of the middle of a very active downtown Manchester. No need for taxis to get around. Room was clean and well-appointed. If I had any quibble I'd note that the in-room tv was not more than about 18' or so. Reception was quite good but a bit hard to see when lying on the bed halfway across the room. Didn't use it much so not really a big deal. Water main (for sewage) broke the night I was there and could not use the shower or flush the toilet for about 4 hours. Again, not a huge hassle given that it was squared away by the time we awoke and needed to use the facilities. All in all I'd recommend.

Friendly staff, very helpful, room was great, so convenient for those travelling by train! The Apple Mac was very useful. We love the Macs! If you are shopping, don't forget to use the free city bus.

The location of this hotel was fabulous, immediately across the street from the train station. The staff were very friendly and professional, and the rooms were clean and had a modern feel.

in manchester for a charity meeting. putting a two night stay around it let us eat superbly in chinatown and in print works and see new film 'the kings speech'. this plus quality of room breakfast and lounge bar made it a great winter mini-break and we will be back and/or at other hotels in the group later in the year.

Very nice. Modern, room & bath room were very clean, bed was comfortable, staff was helpful, City Café restaurant very good. Very conveniently located, near Picadilly station with metro connection. Will definitely stay there on return to Manchester.

The hotel is within a very small distance to the Manchester Piccadily train station, which is very handy. The room was very functional and the internet connection was very good. The service was very good. Will defnitily return.

Clean modern room and bathroom, comfortable bed, convenient to Picadilly metro station.

The best hotel I have stayed at in England! Fantastic value for the price we paid - great rooms, lots of space, unbeatable location, nice breakfast, top-class staff and as an extra bonus even free internet services and cable-TV! I hope to stay here every time I visit Manchester.
