The hotel had great views (if willing to pay for it), and was walkable to all the bars and restaurants in St. Julian's. The wifi was horrible! Even worse were the beds, which were likely from the 90's. They were old box spring mattresses that squeak, and were very uncomfortable. The hotel needs to invest in new beds. Otherwise, the breakfast was decent and offered nice views of the sea. Also to consider, the spa does offer a decent pool (strangely the hot tub was cold and the pool was warm), but they charge to use the sauna! Due to the lackluster condition of much of the hotel, they should not charge for amenities that would make up for where they are lacking... Overall, it was a nice hotel, but I think it has a long way to go to impress potential business travelers. For the 20-30s crowd, it would be highly recommended for a fun weekend on the island due to its proximity to the nightlife (and things such as good mattresses likely wouldn't matter).
Don't get me wrong, its a fairly nice hotel and the staff tried hard but we had some issues. I booked a junior suite with a sea view, upon check in and receiving our first one, we did not receive what I reserved. When we went o change the room, thinking it was as honest mistake, we were informed by the manager that our reserved room was unavailable. They had a suite available but it wasn't a sea view, it over looked the city and was extremely loud at night. It was also on the side of the hotel that had yet to be renovated and was not at all what was pictured. They did however move us to our correct suite the next day which was nicer, but not perfect. The manage on duty who was there for our stay, tried very hard to make up for the inconviences. Complimentary dinner from the hotel restaurant was offered, each night a bottle of wine was sent to our room complimentary. They tried, yes. And it almost made up for the first night room....
This hotel was perfect. It was located right by the city ceter and just a quick walk from the beach. The staff was very helpful and the rooftop pool had awsome views of the sea. Can't wait to come back and enjoy another time.
