Hi we anchored off Malolo Island resort and enquired about using the facilities. The resort were very accomodating allowing us to us the pool following making a diner reservation. Both the resort and dinner were fantastic. The dinner was especially good and supprising for a resort was of fine dining quality, with excellent choice, presentation and taste including complementary amuse bouche and pallette clenser. The staff were very friendly and attentive and overall the price was reasonable. A wlecome change.

What a great atmosphere as we arrived and met by a charming man who took us up to the amazing Treetops restaurant overlooking the gardens and bay. The food was sublime, service spot on and reasonably priced too! We did not stay unfortunately!

All the good things they say about this place are true. We stayed 6 nights with a food package and everything was great. The kids club staff were excellent, with a wide range of activities every day and it was open until 9pm at night. They also take the kids to the restaurant for dinner too! It was lovely listening to live music at lunch and dinner, with the staff singing their beautiful traditional songs. The food was extremely high quality. We at our way through the menu at the beach bar and the restaurants and everything was delicious. The pizzas, burgers, steaks, seafood, curries, and salads were all delicious and used quality ingredients. The rooms were really nice, we had bure 29 with amazing views of the sunset every day and snorkeling right outside our front door. The beds were really good, and the couches/setees have a cover on them during the day for sitting on, and they come off at night to be beds for the kids. The rooms have good quality tea and coffee facilities, fans, and air-conditioning. There are no TVs in the rooms but there is a lounge with a TV, not that I wanted a TV whilst there. The staff were all very polite and helpful, and learned our names very quickly. It was great chatting to them and getting to know them during our stay. This is an amazing place to stay, with great staff, food, activities, and accommodation. It is very popular with families during school holidays, so if you want to avoid kids maybe book outside school holidays, but there are spaces and restaurants were kids aren't allowed so it isn't a big drama if you ask me.

In a way i feel bad about not giving a better score as the resort was great, the staff were fantastic - in fact the best i have seen anywhere. The service was great, rooms were cleaned well, we were very well looked after during mealtimes. The kid's club was fantastic , my 4 y.o old normally doesn't like to go to kids club but he did every day at Malolo. The accomodation was fantastic as well, the Bure we had was perfect for three of us. Everything was well maintained and in good condition, we had an issue with the bathroom but it was sorted out quickly. The food was fantastic , most of the dishes we had were very good. The only thing is that after a week the food options start getting repetitive as there is only the bar and grill and the two treetop restaurants - the latter have the same menu but one is adults only and the other one isn't. The thing that didn't make it 5/5 for me was that the beach wasn't that great. You can snorkel off the beach but the good bit isn't very big, a lot of it is rocky and you def need reef shoes. It's not that its bad but not the picture perfect white sandy beach that we were hoping for. This was a bit disappointing as i experienced better beaches at coral coast resorts which are half the price. However if the beach isn't a huge factor then its not a big deal. I'm sure im in the minority but i enjoyed the larger resorts in coral coast more as there is more to do as well and you also have the option of getting out of the resort if you want a change of scenery, also better beach and pretty much half the cost.

Fantastic location, rooms, food but above all the warm, kind hospitable staff. Small and intimate feel. Such a great a memorable holiday with young family. Kids had a ball and we had time to relax and have some parents time. Already rebooked.

The resort was just beautiful. The staff were so warm and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing! The drinks we received upon arrival were so good and refreshing. We had full use of the paddle boards and kayaks. The water was beautiful all around. Would go back for sure!

Welcoming, ever-smiling and engaging staff make this resort one of the better ones we have been to in the recent past. Lots of fun activities organised by staff, good food, happy hour at the beach bar is a popular time. Don’t miss a visit to Monuriki island and snorkel over the reef there.

Really lovely grounds, clean and modern rooms. We had a wonderful time here, especially enjoyed snorkeling and kayaking. I would not recommend if you don’t have kids. We were overwhelmed by how many little kids were there, felt a bit like Disneyland. They do have adults areas but you can still hear screaming 😂. The staff was really nice, food was just okay but the setting made it a real treat for us.

This is a lovely resort featuring spacious well appointed bures, two separate restaurants as well as a beach bar for snacks and light meals plus a swim-up pool bar, and separate adults’ and kids’ pools. The resort is low-rise and set amid pretty tropical gardens with a picturesque mountain backdrop. It’s especially popular with families as it has a lively kids club. The staff are lovely and the service is generally great. The only thing we found disappointing was the food, which is ok but not of the same standard as everything else.

Pros: * Snorkeling trip to honeymoon island was incredible. $65 Fijian pp for 2 hours. Pristine white sand, crystal clear water and some of the most incredible snorkeling my husband and I have ever done just a few metres off the shore! Book a babysitter and do it! * Fantastic service at all restaurants and interactions with all staff is extremely friendly & hospitable. They were also wonderful towards our toddler and baby. Particular standouts for us were Suzanna, Luci, Leba, Milika, Sailiosi, Siti, Ben, Koto, Mana and many others whos names we cannot remember but were just wonderful. * Snorkeling from the beach particularly under the wharf was great! We saw lots of fish. * Babysitters always turned up on time and were reliable and friendly with our kids. * Food at all restaurants was outstanding! It was absolutely delicious! * We loved having child free dinners at the adults only restaurant. The live music was fun and the service was fantastic! Again the food was absolutely wonderful. * The rooms were lovely and they were cleaned very well by housekeeping. We loved our housekeepers Luci and Saililosi who both did a wonderful job and were very friendly. Turndown service is offered too which was great. * Loved that you got your own good quality snorkel, flippers and bag for the week from the beach shack. * Loved the daily piece of paper which listed activities, high and low tide etc delivered to the room. * We spent an hour at the adults only pool. It was lovely and the bartender made us delicious cocktails. Love the idea of adult only areas. * Our 2 year old ate free for all meals. The kids buffet was great! Lots of variety but all the things he loves too (fruit, chips, rice, meat, bread). Cons: * Our room (villa 4) was a deluxe oceanview Bure. It was right behind the boat/watersports shack and the path to one side of our Bure was a pathway for staff and guests. It was not as I imagined in terms of having a useable, empty sandy beach just out the front of our room (as shown on the website’s picture of this room), as half of the beach had the boathouse on it and the rest had yachts, kayaks etc parked there. There were only 4 chairs for 4 villas (at least 8 adults) which always had towels on them to reserve them and a drain pipe was there which smelt bad. We did not use this beach out the front of our room because of these reasons, instead walking to the beach on the other side of the jetty where our room was well out of sight. This was very disappointing as we had a newborn baby and a toddler and we booked the room imagining that we could swim or sunbake just outside the front of our room while keeping our eye on the room while our kids slept or the baby stayed inside out of the sun. The room was also noisy as lots of staff and guests walked past using the path to the left side of our villa. I felt when I breastfed I had to shut the curtains as so many people walked past at the front and side, plus there were lots of men working at the boat shed which was straight in front of our room. At the resort we had been to before Malolo (Plantation island) I could breastfeed sitting on the chairs at the front of our rooms with lots of privacy. We also couldn’t open the side windows to let any natural light in as there were people walking past all day and they would see straight into our bedroom. The first day the kids were both woken from their day sleeps by people walking past and talking noisily and one morning I was woken at 5.30am by someone singing loudly as they walked passed. We requested to be moved on our first evening and again the next day but there were no deluxe oceanview rooms available. We were offered the family suite but had to pay the difference but it was over $1000 Fijian a day difference which was well above our budget for the 3 nights it was available. This was quite a disappointing aspect for us. I would recommend bures number 10 or higher to get absolute uninterrupted beach frontage and more privacy. * The beach (particularly that outside our room) had a smelly drain pipe, not many chairs, lots of boats, kayaks etc on the sand, lots of rocks on the sand and just wasn’t a beautiful sandy beach like we were expecting. We had been previously at Plantation island and their beach was beautiful and oceanfront/beach front bures were exactly that. * The paths, particularly that around our villa and towards the beach in front of our villa had lots of rocks in them. Our toddler tripped or kicked his toes quite a few times so we always had to carry him or use the pram (which was also very hard to steer). * Lots of mosquitoes. Found repellant and air spray for bugs under the sink on the day we checked out. Would have been great to know this was there earlier as we all got bitten lots including inside the room.
