Scandic Kramer4.0 out of 5.0

It is a functioning hotel, nice big rooms and in a great location but just that does not cut the mustard in this cut throat world. Breakfast is great, standard scandic with a great mix of friendly staff, it does not change at all day to day but it is enough of a mix that you can find variety to last at least a week. Room cleaning is a bit below what I would expect in such a place. But, lets be fair I am being a bit picky and I stay in a lot of much better hotels. Administration is a total fail, internet does not work and staff cannot assist to solve. I accept that, but at least there should be a help desk to assist. Internet is just so important these days that not having it means seriously considering moving hotels. I used my iphone with it turned to hotspot but this consumed a lot of my monthly allowance of downloadables. Zero out of ten. Taking the whole amount for the stay in advance, ok we can deal with that as it is a corporate card but no other scandic does it so why do you?? Then check out a day early it takes twenty to thirty minutes to get a refund on the room. several staff members to try and understand the system and even the duty manager not knowing how to do it. Lots of angry customers behind me as I held up the line for ages on a simple transaction. again zero out of ten. On the whole if you have the money try the other chains, Clarian has a huge modern hotel nearby and Radisson is also close. It might be just this Scandic that is broken and there are lots of them in Malmo to also choose from.
Excellent location within walking distance to the central train station and the historic center. Very picturesque and charming building. Depending on your bath versus shower preferences, this hotel is problematic. Not all rooms have showers. Those that don't, have a deep, old fashioned tub with hand shower on the tub deck but no curtain or glass enclosure of any kind. Even noting that we wanted a room with a shower in our reservation notes, the first room we were given had the tub only type bathroom. No individual heating control in the room. Outdated electrical as far as plugs for electronics. There was a backup at the front desk during check-in and no one came to assist the one person working the desk who was very good and competent. Everything clean and comfortable otherwise. Have a walk around the block for lots of food and drink options. The attached cafe and bar are not good value for money.
But this old Hotel, must upgrade and renovate to better standard. The Light and toalet did't work. Good breakfast and service, but breakfast room was cold and windy. It is higher the standard in the rooms.
The hotel is in walking distance to the touristic area. It has an old fashion chic style that is weary pleasant with everything you need for your breakfast, Swedish and international. Clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff, really helpful. We will choose the same hotel again without hesitation.
The hotel is in a really good location, both near the railway station and the city centre. Our room was nice and very clean and we had a very good price for two nights. The stairway is lovely, so don't use the elevator! The breakfast was good, but is not very well organised and it was even hard to get a table for four. In the afternoon you can have a beer or a glass of wine in the sun outside the hotel. (It´s about 5 € for a beer, and that's a good price in this area of Malmö. If you want to eat and drink at better prices dont go to "Lilla Torg" nearby, but take a walk to Möllevången.)
Good location and a very nice hotel. Staff was helpful and always there for us Parking was not so easy to fined but regarding to the hotel here is one not to far away from the hotel. We gladly come back to this hotel!
Very clean and nice room. Kids loved it. Comfortable to be able to take the pram up with you in the elevator. Great location in the middle of the city, close to station. Lot's of restaurants in the neighborhood. Liked the breakfast, and lunch was also ok.
Super friendly and service minded staff. Room was fantastic and our children thought we stayed at a castle. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but the hotel was happy to help out with breakfast to go. Overall a very good place to stay when in Malmö.
The hotel was established by Anna and Fritz Kramer in 1878. The interiors have still the old-time charm left, especially in the lobby and in the staircase. The hotel is located by Stortorget Square, only a 5-minute walk from Malmö Central Station. Our Presidential or Anna Kramer Suite was located on the top 4th floor. It is a 70 square meter suite with a large living room. The bedroom is located in one of the towers with a nice view to the square. Also the bathroom is extra spacious with separate shower and bathtub. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which is combined to the old-style bar. The food was quite tasty and it was nice to sit in the glass veranda. The breakfast is served in the same premises and was very good. It was easy to find a table and the food selection was wide.
Midst town yet quiet, very friendly atmosphere. Overlooking a major square of the town. A minute away from trains, busses, and boats. Best value for the money. Old building still with all modern amenities.
