Well worth another try. The "new rooms" 25 yrs old are a bit dark (more light) but lovely. Genuine mahogany, thick marble. Hot water en masse. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Still missing the gin supply in the restaurant bar. I have not had an acceptable dry martine for seven years.
Went down to Malmö for one night only. Picked Scandic Kramer due to it´s location, and was not disappointed. Very central, a short walk from the Central Station. My room was a standard, but still large, clean, wooden floor as requested and far away from the elevator, all good. The breakfast had some heights, a really tasty homemade pear/ginger yoghurt, fresh homemade bread, ginger shot, smoothies among others. In all, one nights stay with no complaints.
Kramer is one of the many Scandic hotels in Malmö. Hotel interior is old type build. in generally it is three star class, rooms are ok but nothing special. Location is good, 3 min walk from main station. Breakfast is typical Scandic style
I always stay at the Kramer when Visiting in Malmo. I love the old world charm and the modern amenities. I also love there continental breakfast, its the best! The front desk has always been very accommodating and nice!
We had a very nice stay at Kramer, with nice and friendly personnel, nicely cleaned rooms and a great breakfast in the morning. The location of the hotel is splendid, right in the middle of Malmo. I can highly recommend a stay at Kramer!
This place was a gem!!!! The included breakfast was delicious with a ton of options, the rooms were spacious (closer to US hotel room size rather than smaller European rooms), the location was great (tons of restaurants and nice shops just around the corner, and only a 4 minute walk to central station). But the best part was the staff. Everyone, from the busboy in the restaurant, to the housekeepers, to the front desk lady / concierge was wonderfully friendly and accommodating. The day we got in, our room wasn't ready so we hung out in the lobby. We probably approached the front desk at least four or five times with questions and the lady working (mid-thirties, glasses) was incredibly kind and patient. She even helped my mother install a sim-card in her phone. The service at this place truly made our stay in Malmo enjoyable and worthwhile.
thanks for a perfect stay at Kramer , very easy to change to a junior svit from a dubbel room when I needed to meet the press in Malmo . the nice staff changes the room direct at a low cost . very good breakfast and a nice view from the balcony . I recommend Scandic Kramer Malmö Eric Andersson
A stylish hotel with comfortable rooms. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. Breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and a wide selection of different breads, cheese, spreads, sausage, eggs, cereals and fruit juices. The train station is 3 minutes walk away and the shopping street is 1 minute away. Nevertheless, it was very quiet in the room. We will definitely be back!
It is a functioning hotel, nice big rooms and in a great location but just that does not cut the mustard in this cut throat world. Breakfast is great, standard scandic with a great mix of friendly staff, it does not change at all day to day but it is enough of a mix that you can find variety to last at least a week. Room cleaning is a bit below what I would expect in such a place. But, lets be fair I am being a bit picky and I stay in a lot of much better hotels. Administration is a total fail, internet does not work and staff cannot assist to solve. I accept that, but at least there should be a help desk to assist. Internet is just so important these days that not having it means seriously considering moving hotels. I used my iphone with it turned to hotspot but this consumed a lot of my monthly allowance of downloadables. Zero out of ten. Taking the whole amount for the stay in advance, ok we can deal with that as it is a corporate card but no other scandic does it so why do you?? Then check out a day early it takes twenty to thirty minutes to get a refund on the room. several staff members to try and understand the system and even the duty manager not knowing how to do it. Lots of angry customers behind me as I held up the line for ages on a simple transaction. again zero out of ten. On the whole if you have the money try the other chains, Clarian has a huge modern hotel nearby and Radisson is also close. It might be just this Scandic that is broken and there are lots of them in Malmo to also choose from.
Excellent location within walking distance to the central train station and the historic center. Very picturesque and charming building. Depending on your bath versus shower preferences, this hotel is problematic. Not all rooms have showers. Those that don't, have a deep, old fashioned tub with hand shower on the tub deck but no curtain or glass enclosure of any kind. Even noting that we wanted a room with a shower in our reservation notes, the first room we were given had the tub only type bathroom. No individual heating control in the room. Outdated electrical as far as plugs for electronics. There was a backup at the front desk during check-in and no one came to assist the one person working the desk who was very good and competent. Everything clean and comfortable otherwise. Have a walk around the block for lots of food and drink options. The attached cafe and bar are not good value for money.
