once again I stayed at this super hotel. In march the auction firm Postiljonen had a big auction and celebrated their 50 years anniversary and held a very great dinner party at Elite Hotel Savoy. it was held in a private ballroom with close to 100 invited customers of Postiljonen., starting with champagne before the dinner. I can hardly count all the different dishes served. Selected vines with every dish. the service by the staff was warm, professional and top in any way. I have been in Malmö, hundred of times, but this april, we had snowstorm, hard wind and cold. it looks tome that the weather all over the world is changing. I did not remember the time difference between Sweden and Iceland, so my first morning i went down to the restaurant for breakfast, but all was closed. I was one hour to late. I walked to the lobby, and they smiled at my time error, but one of the staff, ran off and 5 minutes later, brought me a tray, with full breakfast, without me mention or ask for it. That shows why guests come again and again. I am already looking forward to my next stay there.
This is a comfortable hotel in the Elite hotel chain and located very central in Malmo with a few minutes walk to the railway station. It is an older hotel, but with great ambiance. The complimentary breakfast is very good and the service too.
I have stayed at various hotels in Malmo and for a central location, within easy distance of the central station and the two main squares then this couldn't be better. Its not the cheapest to stay, but the staff are professional, its very clean and breakfast is very good quality with a wide range of options. I have stayed in a few rooms, the ones at the front of the hotel are the best and beds very comfortable, the rooms in other parts of the hotel are a little unloved and maybe need an upgrade but overall this isn't a bad place to stay if you are over for a long weekend.
Stayed two nights at this very centrally located hotel. firendly staff, good room, decent breakfast witrh many choices. Parking is available in the next block. Pub and restaurant in the building and close to many restaurants.
Perfect Location. Just across The Central Station. Clean room but rather small. Good breakfast. Value for money. But not excellent choice. Hotel is bit old. Need some upgrade. Near public transport...
This place is decaying. I get the sense that at some point in the recent past, this was a rather glamorous hotel. All of the woodwork is battered and bashed, there is wallpaper peeling from the walls. The carpets are stained and frayed. The lift is temperamental - we got stuck between floors and the call button failed. The suite was a nice size and we got a corner suite - the view can't be grumbled at. The standard of cleanliness is appalling - no signage is required for the toilets as you can smell them long before you find them. The breakfast was mediocre at best and the place appears to be run by gum chewing teenagers with bad attitudes. Attempted to call reception on where to dine - phone not working so a long trek to the lobby was required. To be fair, Edwin (reception guy) was superb but the rest were surly and rude. It appears that low standards are the norm here which is at odds with the decor, fixtures and fitting which at some point I imagine were lovely - alas, a clear lack of any form of maintenance and woefully substandard cleaning makes this a deceptively dirty, shabby and smelly place to stay. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Request a newer room. The one I had was quiet, facing back or interior courtyard but it was worth it. The original room I was given had seen better days. My room rate was fully priced but I was only in Malmo for a day. For the price, I would have expected more particularly if the first room assigned was stayed in. Breakfast was very acceptable. Staff were very pleasant. Malmo is a very pretty city to walk around in. Had a fantastic Vietnamese dinner at Mrs Saigon about a 10 minute walk from hotel. Lots of interesting cuisines offered up in Malmo - - lots of Asian
The central location is the best quality of this hotel. An impressing exterior as well. But than it ends. Entering this hotel one might imagine its former fame, but today in lack of proper maintenance it gives a poor impression. Sad to see. It has just such potential to be a grand hotel. Room with bathroom, well the whole interior is in need of a renovation. The breakfast is of a standard quality. However, the staff is most polite and helpful! H-O. Wallgren
I was highly impressed with my two night stay at Elite Hotel Savoy. The hotel is opposite Malmo Central Railway Station, so it is very convenient if travelling into and out of Malmo by train. The hotel is quite a quaint and historic building. There are many pictures of Winston Churchill around the lobby and bar and he is reputed to have spent time here. The bar and restaurant areas are cosy and warm with classy decor. I was particularly impressed by the breakfast offered. It was tasty, fresh and nutritious, with considerable choice. It really set me up for the day. I also dined in the restaurant, and found the menu to be excellent and the food very wholesome and tasty. My room was clean, comfortable, bright and well serviced. At all times it was quiet and peaceful. All staff encountered were friendly, helpful and highly professional. I found the computer and internet in the lobby a great convenience for printing tickets and checking emails. Overall, Elite Hotel Savoy offers excellent accommodation and food, it is very centrally located and I shall definitely return.
We have selected hotel for its location. It is located right next to the main station and the inner city. It is an old hotel with a lot of history. In the hall you can see the plate with famous people who have visit the hotel earlier. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend it.
