The location is great (we were walking, didn’t have a car). All the reception staff we met were exceptionally pleasant, full marks. Crossed the pretty patio to get to our room, down a flight of stairs (no lift) and here things started to look a little disappointing. Stair carpet had a few stains and looked well worn. The room was a great size for the three of us, clean but tired. Bathroom window was fairly nasty, room needed a paint, and the few pieces of furniture were scruffy. Obviously (from the noise!) there is some renovation work going on. ‘The bar’ - in three days only saw it open once. My husband asked for a G&T but unfortunately there was no ice and no lemon!!! How can you have a bar with no ice??!! On the whole, we were happy to have stayed here.
I spent there two weeks with my family and I liked it so much! It is centrally located, all cosy Spanish restaurants/shops are just behind the corner and within the walking distance to beach and promenade ( around 20 min). Polite and very helpful staff, good breakfast and lovely room. I have only positive impressions! That is not the first hotel where we stayed in Palma, but definitely the best so far! 100% will stay there next time. P.S. Special thanks to lovely reception girl (unfortunately do not recall the name) for all help and advices!
URMision de San Miguel is centrally located close to the bus stop in the main market area. Majority of the tourist attractions are within walking distance. The hotel does not have the elevators, as it is an old hotel. It does have large rooms and does not provide complimentary breakfast. Staff is friendly.
This was our second visit to Palma ,and also our second visit to this small hotel. We were here to take part in the Palma Half marathon and 10k road running events. We were struck by the strong smell of urine in the alleyway leading to the main entrance, but we were looking forward to a comfortable room so we were not put off. On arrival at reception we were greeted by a friendly young lady. Our friends room was ready but ours was not. This wasn't a problem as we were early. We deposited our luggage in their room and said we would see our room later. We returned to the hotel later after brunch, collected the keys and made the way to our room. Downstairs to a dim and smelly basement family room. We were not happy as our friends room was bright and airy. Not at all like the room we had on our previous visit. We complained at reception and were informed that the hotel was full, but they would move us the following day. We were given a new room the next day( this was called an upgrade, but it was exactly the same room as our friends, also the same as we had the previous year). The hotel is looking a little tatty around the edges. The dining room looked good and an excellent breakfast ( recently refurbished). At checkout we said that we were unhappy with the first room and would they compensate us. We were offered a bottle of wine. Not a real compensation for spoiling our Honeymoon weekend ( they had been informed). We complained to the supervisor( no manager on site) she said there wasn't anything she could do!. Customer service(Poor) We would not return to this hotel. We feel they are not interested in customer satisfaction. We have emailed the company to give our views . Replied but no interest shown.
We stayed only one night here because of an early flight from Palma, after visiting other parts of Mallorca. The location is great, just a short walk from the central bus station and a few steps from one of main shopping streets that lead to the central part of the old town and the cathedral. When we arrived around lunch time our rooms were not ready, but it was possible to leave our luggage in the luggage room. We could walk in to the luggage room ourselves to leave our luggage and then fetch it a few hours later, and did not receive any receipts for our pieces of luggage (which many other hotels provide for security). The staff at the reception were nice. Our rooms were on the ground floor, one with a view to a small inner yard and one with a view to one of the side streets. As the streets in the area are pedestrian, there was no traffic and no noise, which we appreciated. The rooms were clean and quite large and the bathroom had a proper shower cabin. The beds were a bit hard for our preference and the pillows not very comfortable. Because of our early flight the next morning, we did not have time for breakfast at the hotel (and besides it was quite expensive), but there was a fridge in the room so it was possible to buy some breakfast items at the supermarket and store them in the fridge overnight. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Wifi worked well. This was the second time we stayed here (the first time was a few years ago) and we would consider staying here again the next time we visit Palma.
A nice boutique hotel in a great location in the city being just minutes from many places to visit and good restaurants. The hotel is tucked away off the Casa Sant Miquel. The narrow, scruffy alleyway approach leads into a lovely modern courtyard off which the various hotel rooms branch. As with all hotels there is a tourist tax to pay on arrival. A very mixed, mainly northern European clientele. Our bedroom 107 was fine with two single beds laid out as a double so there was plenty of room. Good, quiet air con. A fairly small bathroom. A couple of niggles: no plug in sink and a non-functional safe slightly took the edge of the room. A big let-down was the inability to get any sort of beverage after the bar closed at 22:00. Take your own travel kettle if you want a late-night drink. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choices although on our first morning the solitary server struggled to keep up with replenishing food but we discovered the secret was to get into breakfast before 09:00.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom room and it was lovely. So rare to find a 2 bed hotel room for a family. We had a lovely big balcony to sit on too. Very nice welcome by the staff and offered us a glass of champagne. Staff helpful. Nice breakfast with lots of choice. Highly recommend.
Hotel very good located in the Center of Palma and next to the sightseing places., Breakfast very good. Nevertheless I am disappointed due to the rooms which need urgently a renewall, especially bathroom. Employees are very kind and servable.
Stayed at the Mision de San Miguel for three nights with family. Once you've found it (it's hidden away for sure, either down a narrow alley off the busy Carrer de Sant Miquel or round from the Carrer de Can Macanet), you'll love it. We got the Route 1 bus from the airport which drops off at the Placa d'Espanya, from there cross the main road, walk across the square, down Placa de la Porta Pintada, turn left at the Hrammallorca church onto Carrer de Sant Miquel, and finally the tricky bit, you need to turn right down a narrow alley which is easy to miss, called Carrer de Can Perpinya, straight down there you will see the archway and gates that lead to the hotel courtyard, took us about 10 minutes from the bus stop with all our luggage. Don't be put off by outside first impressions, once you step through the ornate gates into the pretty courtyard you'll be sold. Reception area includes a lovely bar with coffees and excellent cocktails to choose from. Rooms seem to vary a bit, we had one on the first floor with French windows and shutters overlooking the courtyard, decent sized room, the furniture a bit worn out and the shower in need of some repair work. Mum and Dad's room was on the ground floor and looked to have been refurbished more recently with a new floor and in much better condition, they also had a window onto the courtyard. Breakfast is served downstairs under the reception in a light airy room, mostly continental style but with a good selection of sweet and savoury choice, hot buffet somewhat limited to scrambled egg and sausages on one day, grilled tomatoes the other. After your breakfast get out and see Palma, the hotel location is perfect and we walked everywhere didn't need taxis. It's five minutes to the fantastic market Mercat de L'Olivar which I'd highly recommend if you're a foodie; wonder around taking in the colours, smells and atmosphere before treating yourself at one of the many tapas, fresh fish, ham or, our favourite, excellent sushi bars; to be honest I could just spend the day watching and eating! In the other direction, come out of the hotel, down the steps, turn left cross Carrer de la Missio, into Carrer del Carme and you will come out onto La Rambla, a main street with upmarket shops. From here you can pretty much walk anywhere, down to Plaza Mayor, out into the old town or down to the cathedral and the port. We think 20 to 30 mins from the hotel down to Placa de la Llotja (nice for tapas) depending on how quickly you walk. All of the staff at the hotel were excellent, helpful and couldn't do more to make you feel welcome. Finally, special mention must go to the bed, Wifey and I were both agreed it was the most comfortable mattress we've slept on, ever! I think it was some sort of memory foam, but not hot and unbreathable like they can be, basically lovely, if anyone can tell me who makes them please do, I will buy one for home... We had a wonderful time, thank you Mision de San Miguel, although you do need to fix that leaky shower in 205!!!
Very good location for exploring old town. Parking garage pretty tight for anything larger than a Fiat 500. Staff friendly and helpful. Reception and breakfast area nice and food very good. Rooms and corridors could do with repainting and new carpets. Overall a fairly nice place
