Ok, stayed here for 3 nights as we are visiting different parts of Majorca. First off this is not a 5* hotel so don't expect plush gardens, fine dining and so on....that said.... The hotel was good, the staff were very friendly and the rooms clean, yes they were a bit small and dated but who stays in there room all the time on holiday! The room was quite adequate with great views as long as you get a high up room. We didn't have a problem with the noise, but then again I suppose it all depends who is next door to you really, if there noisy tell them! The food is more than adequate, it's not Michelin standard by any means but at each meal there is a good choice of food and plenty of it. I've read comments about there not being sausages at breakfast, no tea coffee at tea time, but if you want to choose exactly what you want to eat, go out and pay for it basically, they have to cater for all tourists who don't like a full English breakfast or chips with every meal, the food they provide is good for what you are paying for. The staff are always very friendly and will do anything for you if you ask, it's a mix of ages and all nationalities which is good. I must stress though, if your hiring a car, parking is an absolute nightmare, but then again so is parking at every hotel in el arenal, the first night I spent about 45 minutes driving about looking for somewhere to park, there isn't basically and if find a spot get in it quick cos if you drive round the block it will be gone when you get back. Also if you park illegally or in restricted areas it will be towed away as I witnessed several times! So all in all, the hotel could do with a bit of updating, a lick of paint to the exterior but I would stay here again with no hesitation. Top tips. There is a market every Thursday, good old fashioned type with plenty of stalls and bargains to be had. There is a large supermarket just round the corner to get anything you need. Go out of hotel main door, turn right then first left. It's about 30 seconds walk! The beer they sell a meal times is very well priced, about 1.80 euros for a beer. Things to be wary of: Parking is an absolute nightmare! The hotel is up on top of a hill, great for going down to the beach but a hike coming back up. Get a room high up if possible, otherwise the view will be of surrounding hotels! Summary: Other than that you will have a pleasant stay here, I am very honest with my reviews as I hate people who nit pick and demand everything when they are in another country and there's no English tv channels (your on holiday switch the TV off for gods sake) or there is no bacon etc at breakfast...ps, there is only 1 English Channel, BBC world news....well I had to do something whilst her indoors was getting ready! Advice... There is no fridge, hairdryer or tea/ coffee making facilities in the room so make sure you take your own hairdryer, coffee is available 24 hours a day in the bar for 1.80 euros. Towels are provided in the room but there not really suitable for the pool area so take a beach towel. Thankyou to all the staff who made our stay very nice and relaxing. 👍👌
No acustic insulation between one room and.another. very very rude and noisy customers, from our room we could hear every noise from other rooms, even when they were in the toilete. We claimed in the reception about those customers but nothing apparently has changed. We were forced to wake up at 6 a.m. during the werkend because other customers woke up and start to talk and probably have a karate lesson in the room, because I don't explain all the noise I've heard. Basi hotel, nice breakfast and dinner, good position, but I will not go anymore because of this noise problem.
Stayed here in august of 2016 for 5 nights, The staff were very welcoming but on arrival to the hotel you could see how run down it was. Rooms are very basic. The shower didn't actual have a stand so you had to hold it up and the shower curtain was half hanging off the wall. There was loose wires from some of the sockets and some lights didn't actually have covers on them. As it was a last minute cheap holiday it was half expected. Room service also came in whilst we had a sign on the door saying not to come in which I didn't appreciate. We stayed on a half board basis and the food wasn't to the greatest of standards, but once again the staff were lovely. Fine for a holiday where you wouldn't be staying in the hotel much though.
At the beginning we had some difficulties finding the hotel. If you wish to rent a car, rent a small car because it is also very difficult to find places to park the car. There is no A/C on the bedrooms. All in all I enjoyed the stay, the bar it is not that expensive and the food was good. The location is also great, you can to the beach and live the real german night style over there. The beach was always full of people, we didn't stay over there actually. We travelled all around the island, which is awesome.
large and clean rooms, pretty good food, the pool is ok, services were fine, wifi, close to some main points of attraction, went as couple, stayed one week. overall good for the money we have payed, and we were satified.
After reading a few reviews I was a bit worried about staying at this hotel. I shouldn't have worried. The hotel is clean, spacious and the staff are very helpful. The food is typically 'spanish hotel' food - nothing to get excited about but you can always find something to eat. The rooms are clean and look freshly painted. The beds are very comfortable with extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe. The beach is a ten minute walk downhill and the hotel seems to be in an area where lots of locals live so no load music at night and only a few bars. On Thursdays the roads opposite the hotel are closed for a weekly market so no need to go far to do the holiday shopping. The hotel has a lovely pool area with plenty of sunbeds. We didn't use the hotel snack bar. We went quite late in the season and everything we asked for was 'finished' even though there were signs up adverting food and smoothies (confusing). We usually found something to eat in the nearby bars. The downside to the hotel is that there is no air-con, hairdryers in the rooms and no pool towels available for hire which is a bit of a nuisance when you are only going for a few days with limited luggage allowance. WiFi only works in reception so there is usually quite a crowd gathered around the sofas. Another thing that worried us was two out of the three nights we were there the police were in the hotel. One of these occassions was because someone had had something stolen out of their room. Finally the walls of the hotel are paper thin which means you can hear everything that happens either side of you. One night a couple of girls in the next room were making so much noise at 5.00am it woke both my daughter and myself up. After a while I went to knock on their door but couldn't make myself heard. I rang reception who sent someone up to their room and told them in no uncertain terms to be quiet - silence for the rest of the night. The following night the couple on the other side were chatting and giggling. This went on for quite some time and before things became embarrassing my daughter knocked on the wall. Thankfully they went to sleep. Whilst this was a problem is didn't spoil our holiday and I am not sure what the hotel can do about it other than supply ear plugs! Finally El Arenal is a lovely family resort with a beautiful beach. I would definately go back to stay there.
This hotel has a good location, 3-4 min from the beach. The rooms are ok, the furniture is a bit old, but it was clean. The cleaning ladys came every day. The towels were changed every day. Everything was clean. But they don't have hair dryer. This is a minus because beeing at the beach all day you need a hair dryer in the room. You could'he take one from the reception, but they didn't had every day. The receptionists were very friendly. The food was very good! We had breakfast and dinner included and the food was very good and tasty. And they had variety. Every day they has something else to eat.
We came here for holiday with my husband to celebrate anniversary. I liked photos on internet was scared that will look different how usually happens but was exactly same. Clean room every day coming clean it and changes towel in reception very nice staff and helpful. We had breakfast and diner included. Food was very nice to many choices and staff in restaurant very nice. Will come back next year! Thank you!
I stayed here with a friend I was concerned by some of the reviews but can honestly say this was a friendly, good standard, value for money, great location (apart from being up a hill) hotel. The food was varied and we always found something on offer to eat. The poolside bar was open all day and the service was very good. Not having internet connection in the rooms didn't matter we were on holiday. I would definitely stay here again.
First the positives; Clean room, good position for beach, good bar (nobody seems to use it !), pool well cared for. Negative points; the food was dreadful. The breakfasts and diner should be something to look forward to, they are a let down. The reception should be the focal point of a hotel. There are two daytime receptionists. One good and the other is not. The reception is often unmanned with the receptionist having a smoke on the steps outside. What image is that for a hotel ?? My queries were never dealt with in an efficient manner and I was given the impression that I was just a nuisance. The room was hot with no air conditioning. Whats it like at the height of summer ??
