+ Nice and clean + Fancy interior + Central location near Palma City + ~50 Meters to the beach + Clean pool with lifeguard always on duty - (Big one) You are treated by the employees based on your age and looks. Not a single smile and distrust in spades when we ordered at the bar or in any other situation involving money. If you are young, avoid this hotel.
I stayed here 2 nights. Nice hotel with a beautiful view to the beach. The room was not super nice but it was clean and comfortable enough. You can borrow a bike from the reception (small fee). There is also a gym downstairs but it's not very good. A lot of shops and restaurants near by. An amazing breakfast!
We stayed at this hotel from 16th to 25th May 2017. The hotel is in a lovely location between Can Pastilla and El Arenal, it is a quiet location compared to El Arenal. It overlooks Palma beach which is a beautiful, clean and uncrowded beach. The long promenade is ideal for people who like to jog, walk or cycle; there are plenty of places to hire a bicycle from at reasonable prices. We had a really good day on the bicycles as they cater well for cyclists. There are a couple of bars near by the hotel, our favourite was Carrillion 11, and if you want more bars and life you need to go towards El Arenal. There is a little train that goes along the promenade regularly. The hotel is 1.9 mile from Palma airport, which takes about 10 minutes by taxi, the taxi cost us 14.85 euros from the airport to the hotel, but 17.85 euros from hotel to airport, it would seem the taxi drivers make their own prices up. There are buses that frequently go passed the front of the hotel, we caught the no 25 bus to Palma which took about 20 minutes, but these buses do get packed and we had to take a taxi back to the hotel as the buses were so full, the taxi cost us just over 13 euros. We found the hotel very clean and always smelt nice, the sun terraces were washed down and the sun beds put back into place every day. The rooms are just a basic hotel room, with one chair and a stool, 2 chairs and a little table on the balconies. The beds are really comfortable. The hotel is predominately German. I enjoyed the food, but my husband didn’t, as I have a more adventurous palette them he. The staff are very friendly, especially the waitress’s in the restaurant. On a negative point - We were disappointed that there was little entertainment, a couple of nights there was a man on a keyboard, a saxophone player and a lady who played disco music. There is no daytime entertainment. Also, there seemed a lot of people smoking, as soon as you step out of the door you are confronted with cigarette smoke. Also, you have to pay for the WiFi at 5 euros a day. It is an ideal place if you just want to chill out.
We just came home from a 4 day trip to Majorca and we stayed here at hm tropical and we wasn't disappointed it's a beautiful hotel and nice and clean The food caters for everyone and there alcohol was superb You must make use of the 8th floor swimming pool it's absolutely stunning Would happily stay again
Just back from a week long ,all inclusive holiday at this hotel. Only 10 minutes from the airport 17 euro for a taxi (well worth it ) The location is good. Just across a quiet road from the beach and a 15 minute walk from the marina at Play de Castille where there is nice coffee shops and bars. On arrival after midnight, entering a stunning lobby.,The artwork is amazing,a lovely young Spanish gentleman welcomed us, booked us in and informed us that they had left food for us in the dining room. The room was great . We had a balcony with partial sea and pool view. It was fanrastic. Do not pay the extra for a full sea view , you don't need it. As my husband is vegetarian and we are both coeliac we were concerned about food but we needn't have been. The staff were mostly knowledgable about gluten free food and we had freshly baked bread every day. There was also gluten free cake for us. There was fruit, fresh salads, several different cheeses, fish was cooked in front of us ,so we had plenty to eat and if we doubted any food we just asked. I couldn't fault the quality of the food but the one let done was that the hot vegetables and rice were cooked in oil that had also cooked gluten containing products.this should be addressed. The coffee was instant at breakfast and we did notice that if you wanted coffee eg espresso or latte and were all inclusive they didn't freshly grind it, but used a Nescafé machine. A minor grumble but we went out every day for a good coffee. Drinks were all great.wine spirits cocktails all listed for A/I. The pool area is lovely, there is shady areas for those not liking too much sun and seats for sitting drinking. We did go up to see the roof top pool but it was too hot to stay and the bar was shut early. The staff were all very friendly and efficient, the hotel is spotlessly clean, even the toilets by the pool. All in all a fantastic time and we look forward to returning.
The hotel is just opposite a well maintained beach and is ideal for beach lovers. The hotel is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Entertainment is sporadic at this time of year ant I would have to say only of mediocre quality. The food in the hotel is not as good as we would have liked being all inclusive and we struggled to have a hot meal, The plates were stone cold which doesn't help. The bar staff were friendly and prompt at serving. The hotel is ideal for cycling and there's an abundance of cycle hire shops. Just out of the rear of the hotel you can catch a number 25 bus 🚌 to Palma cathedral. €1.50. One comes every 15 minutes. It's a circular route so your return bus is at the stop you got off at. The rooms in the hotel were sufficient but no tea or coffee making facilities and a toy fridge that switches off when you leave the room. The pool area is very smart and beds were not hogged by selfish people. All in all we enjoyed our stay and may return in the future.
Stayed here in April and was not happy with the hotel at all the rooms are very small and also there is no privacy from the toilet as the actual toilet pan is about a metre away from the bed!!!!no joke all that separates you is a glass screen also you get charged daily for wifi which is terrible, the only good thing is the food
One of the reasons we booked the hotel as it had a Four Star rating , I question this... On arrival the reception check-in was slow,no conversation,no local information,no one appeared to be able to speak English very well, our credit card was photocopied and we were given a leaflet on the additional charges !! This is why I question the rating, to hire a safe key WITH MY ROOM NUMBER ON not a good idea €3 a day , internet connection at €10 a day or €30 for five days. I have never had these add on charges before. I also feel the night time security/ management was lax , on two nights we had groups of people running up and down the corridors at 4am in the morning, shouting screaming and slamming doors, not good! The rooms are basic, the advertised mini bar is an empty fridge, there are no tea/coffee making facilities, but on a positive note they are kept clean and serviced daily. The food was good and liked the themed nights.
Booked this hotel an hour before we checked in. The only reason it was so last minute was because we turned up at a hotel further up the road in play de palma and didn't stay in that one as there was a building site next door and we want quietness for three days. In a way I'm so glad we changed as the HM Tropical had the following: 1 Good breakfast - everything you can imagine on offer 2 Very clean 3 Friendly attentive staff 4 Rooftop pool 5 Main large pool 6 Relaxing bar area 5 Quiet side of the street but close enough to many cafe, supermarket & gift shops The only thing I could possibly say was room 206 bathroom wasn't the nicest. Oh and charging for the WIFI is very much a thing of the past and is down to greed by the hotel owner! Hence not giving the hotel 5 stars.
Lovely hotel and staff helpful. We booked bed and breakfast only. Fabulous buffet of both continental, cooked breakfast, cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt. Fruit juice was very sweet however. Adequate room but bathroom was a problem in that despite frosted glass there really was no privacy. Side view of sea and balcony as booked was pleasant. Downside was our room was opposite lifts and other guests were very loud at all times of day and night with no thought for guests trying to sleep, not hotel's fault. Beach very short distance from hotel which was clean, sandy and easily accessible. Local eateries had good choice of food were clean and staff accommodating. Had to pay for wifi. Clean towels and rooms cleaned everyday. Short distance from airport. English channels on TV. Great cocktails. Would stay here again..
