Beautiful hotel, excellent location but cant believe how much they charge for WIFI, 10 euros for one day ! we paid 35 euros for 6 days & also had to pay for the safe facility. & put a deposit on the towels. Felt like we had been robbed within 15 minutes of arriving there. Food is excellent & make sure you go to the sky bar for sunset, beautiful. The all inclusive drinks package is limited & the cocktails dont resemble any cocktail I have ever had before ( mainly sugar from the taste awful !) , we were charged 15 euros each for that & thats the same for kids with no alcohol . The sister hotel the fiesta 5 mins walk away has more atmosphere & more going on . The Tropical lacks soul & atmosphere.
Just spent 8 nights on all inclusive basis. We can't fault the selection of food and drinks available. The hotel public areas are kept very clean & tidy. The bar area has comfy sofas, ideal for relaxing. Pool is lovely, sadly not enough loungers and there was the usual 'reserved by towels' early morning. As there are plenty chairs both on shaded terrace and next to pool not a problem for us. We didn't use rooftop pool as this is adults only. Ideal position for the beach, would recommend buying a sunshade from one of the shops rather than use the VIP areas, which are expensive. Room cleaned daily, linen changed every other day. Frosted glass wall separates shower room from bedroom which is a little boutique. We had 3 beds in our room which is really suitable for 2, making it a bit short on storage; this is the only real negative - I would have given 5 stars if larger room.
The hotel has all you can ask for. The Gym is just there for proofing they have it not to use it. The Gym is not clean and maintenance of all stuff is needed. Breakfast ok with juice that contains more sugar then fruit. Pool area is nice and clean. Room is small but ok and we had seview and sun in afternoon so it´s impossible to use it from lunch,
Spent a week b&b with my family at the hotel, which I couldn't fault in anyway. The rooms, reception, bar ,seating and restaurant were all immaculate, as were all the staff in their uniforms. There is an option to pay 30 euros a day to upgrade to all inclusive if you wish. The beach is only a few yards away. There are an abundance of restaurants and shops. If you like cycling there are lots of hire shops as there is a cycle path which runs right round the coast in to Palma. Thoroughly recommend!
The hotel is fantastic they have 2 pools one on the roof with a bar .Lovely to site out there at night and view the lights and sea with a drink. The hotel is right opposite the beach which is spotless. The food at the hotel is excellent and the furnishings are very tastefully done.Pedro the barman is the best great guy.All inclusive alcohol is branded whisky is J&B vodka is Smirnoff and the gin is Gilbeys. Our room had a sea view which was great. The two ladies at reception were very friendly and helpful. There could be a little more control on people putting towels on loungers in the morning and then not using them.Overall we had a fantastic time thank you HM Tropical.
We booked HM Tropical as an affordable last minute trip. When we arrived I was pleased to see the hotel's interior was exactly like the photos. Although, the hotel was overbooked when we arrived so they put us in a taxi down to their sister hotel a few mins down the road and as an apology our stay went from B&B to All Inclusive. The restaurant buffet was good with different themes each night. As a vegan,it wasn't ideal but there was an Eroski across the street so I was able to get alternative milk etc there. Breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruit and omelettes for my husband. They also bake their own bread. The restaurant staff are lovely. The hotel is right on the beach and it's a lovely beach. You do have to pay for the beach beds (€42 for 2 a day) but that's to be expected. There's restaurant after restaurant along the seafront, and bars. They are quite expensive averaging around €50/60 for dinner (only 2 alcoholic drinks in that) My gripe about the hotel pool,is the sunbeds are grubby and you have to pay €20 for 2 towels, which you will get back when you hand the towels back. There's no free wifi so I paid for 3 days 'high speed wifi',I think it was around €20. The wifi is rubbish and most certainly not high speed! The bedrooms are basic but clean. We had a great view over the beach. Housekeeping staff are pleasant. There's a lovely barman that works the downstairs bar(don't know his name sorry) The inclusive bar is vodka, gin, whiskey and rum. Also premixed cocktails. For the price we paid, the HM was really what we expected. We had a nice holiday but I think if we were to go back to Mallorca we would stay in a smaller hotel.
We were originally booked at the sister hotel but were upgraded to a lovely sea view room in the HM Tropical. The hotel is perched right on the super sofa sands of Playa de Palma. It has to be one of the best locations on the beach as the beach in front was not littered with rows and rows of check and jaw spaced sun beds. The rooms are newly refurbished making them clean and modern. They are on the small side. Only stayed one night so was more then sufficient. My favourite part was the roof top views along with an additional pool on the roof away from the kids at the main pool. Then when the sun is setting this is when the roof top comes into it own. The have a nightly DJ. Really good mixes (house and chillout) which was perfect to watch the sunsetting over the mountains. Would recommend this hotel staying in the local area. Best, Richard
Myself and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for 9nights returning this Thursday. I booked through jet2 and didn't realise I had selected the roulette option which meant we would be put into one of the 3 HM hotels but wouldn't know which one until we got there I wanted to change the booking and pay the extra to stay at Balanguera beach hotel as it was the one I originally thought I had booked and had great reviews but jet2 would not let me do this and I would have lost 40% of the holiday price for cancelling and re booking even thought I was trying to spend more money with them which doesn't seem to make sense. This is not the hotels fault. When we arrived we found out we had been put in HM tropical after reading the reviews about this hotel before coming I was a bit worried that I wasn't going to like it and that the other guests and staff would be rude. This was not the case we never once felt uneasy with any other customers and the staff made you feel welcome and we're friendly there weren't many English people there but this didn't bother us at all. I wouldn't say the service is of a 4* hotel but the rooms were clean, the pool was lovely and always had sun beds, the beach was across the road so you could go from your subbed by the pool for a dip in the sea. Pedro that works in the downstairs bar was funny and always welcoming. (You defiantly got better service if you werent all inclusive you also get better quality alcohol). The only complaint I have about the hotel is the food, we were half board the breakfasts were good, the usual for a buffet breakfast with different cheese, meats, eggs cooked to order, fruit, cereal etc but the night time food was not great there was a big variety but it was not good quality the standard food for an all inclusive hotel I guess, the meat was fatty, not much taste to pasta sauces and the fish was not nice at all. We only ate there 3 evenings but we hadn't paid much extra for half board as we like to go out to eat so that was okay. The area around the hotel is pretty quiet on an evening which is quite nice of you walk 10 minutes to the left there are some more lively bars as other people have said it is mainly German the closer to get to el arenal . We took the train that goes all the way along the front one night to el arenal to see what it was like it had a lot of strip clubas and drunk stag and hen dos. We didn't stop and stayed on the train back up to campastilla which is right out of the hotel. The train costs 4.50 euros each and we only went on it once as the walk to campastilla only took us 10 minutes. There's a really nice Italian restaurant called l'artista we booked on there Facebook page in advance as the tables were usually reserved, we were a bit surprised that all the bars closed at around 12pm and everywhere was pretty dead by 1pm I'm guessing el arenal would have bars open later. A taxi to Palma cost us 18euros going and 15 euros back it was lovely to do in the evening and if you don't mind spending 16euros on a cocktail give bar abaco a look it's a great old Spanish building with an outside courtyard. Drinks are expensive but it's worth it for the atmosphere. Overall it was a great stay at hm tropical and we really enjoyed our holiday there :)
Booked this as it was a short taxi drive from the airport. Found out it is a walk from the Aquarium and 15 min (€.1.5) bus trip into Palma, so very well located. The room was beautiful, clean and had fresh towels every day. The food was amazing with a huge choice of different meats, vegetables and deserts. As well as salads and desserts. Quality was A+ and much was cooked there in the restaurant. Just across the road from the beach. The staff were excellent. Friendly and welcoming. We could have stayed forever. Great hotel
On the whole can't fault the hotel, clean and tidy, had a recent modern refurb. Staff helpful. Roof top pool really nice. Food served at breakfast, lunch and dinner nice, enough options. Rooms and bathrooms are abit small, OK for couples but maybe a squeeze for families.
