Just spent a week in this lovely hotel and was very impressed. Staff were all warm and friendly especially Carla on Reception. The rooms were very clean and done to a high standard. The sea views were stunning and we could watch the luxury boats stop outside the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice suiting all tastes. Can't fault this little gem and will definitely return next year.
Ended up here as my hotel was not ready as a single travellerS was very weary but the staff were a great help yes its out of the way but a holiday is what you make it the food was good but was not happy about break fast like mine fresh not kept warm Thank you for a lovely holiday would I pay full price a and go again I don't think so
This was a lovely hotel and we were lucky to have a sea view with sunshine in the afternoon (over the bar area). Room was clean. Breakfast was amazing - one of the best I have ever had in a Spanish hotel. This hotel has two small beaches but they are public and get a bit busy on a weekend although the sea was refreshing. We found the pool extremely cold especially after sunshine all day! The hotel is about a ten minute walk from a local supermarket and some local restaurants and about a 15 walk from the Port which is worth a visit. We did try the restaurant one evening (always book) and the food was superb albeit a little on the expensive side. We used the bar for food and would recommend it especially if you want to eat early (it does stop serving food at 630 pm). On the whole the staff were friendly but the bar staff tended to be a little off-hand. We were very disappointed with the changing facilities when we were changing to leave. Changing facilities in the gym and were dark and nowhere to hang clothes up - we took it in turns to keep an eye on our belongings. No hairdryer - which at 5 pm on a very cool Majorcan day isn't ideal! Hotel doesn't give consideration to those on later flights and who have left their rooms at midday it appears. The pathways were very uneven and could be a problem for older people.
This is probably the most disappointing holiday we have ever had. Because of the price, the location and the "boutique hotel" label, we believed we would receive exceptional service and facilities. We did not. The low rating reflects just how far below the expected standard of a four star, boutique hotel, this hotel is. The pluses were the immaculately kept grounds and the excellent and detailed cleaning of our room. The downsides: 1) Our superior sea view room, was not the quiet and peaceful haven we had expected. It was on the first floor directly overlooking the café bar outside seating area, with the pool directly adjacent beyond, so we got all the noise from both (the bar was open until 01.00) as well as smoke from the (fortunately infrequent) cigarettes. The sea was just visible in the distance between the trees! 2) Breakfast was a noisy, chaotic mêlée, with small children chasing each other around the counters. Despite speaking to a senior member of staff about the dangers to staff, residents and children alike, none of the staff made any attempt to stop them. There did not appear to be a manager in the breakfast restaurant. 3) The quality and selection of the lunchtime food was good. Quality of the evening meals was good on the whole, but they were all very similar, either red meat or white fish with a very few vegetables. The menu (ten starters and ten mains) did not vary during the two weeks we were there and we understand it will not change until June. By the second week were finding it very tedious! 4) The air conditioning is centrally operated and was on heating when we arrived in mid-May, when the temp. was in the mid 20s C. We asked when it would be changed and were told they would ask their technicans. A few days later we tried again and found it had been changed. No-one had bothered to inform us! 5) In the first 48hrs we were eaten alive by mosquitos and discovered that the two small fountains were teaming with mosquito larvae. It took two requests and several days to get them sorted. Again, no-one reported back to us. 6) Sadly, this proved to be a continuing theme throughout our stay. A few of the staff went out of their way to say hello and be friendly and helpful. On the whole, though, the service was indifferent. We were not even asked on leaving whether we had had a good stay, nor were we given any feedback forms to complete. Comments by the hotel on this site clearly fail to acknowledge various failings that are included in reviews. 7) The one set of staff we cannot praise highly enough are the cleaning staff, whose attention to detail is excellent. 8) There is a constant stream of conferences and weddings, creating a lot of noisy people and, as on our first night, a very loud disco that went on until gone 01.00! We were in a different block a little way away and round a corner from the disco and still found it invasive. Some poor souls were in rooms right above, but were told they could not move as the hotel was full. 9) We understand from other guests that as recently as two yrs ago this was an adults only hotel. This makes sense as there is nothing at all for children. Sadly, children are now allowed, and by the time we left, there were many families with small children. The resulting noise, (and activity) especially at breakfast and in the café/bar area (and hence our room!) in such a small hotel was inescapable. 10) Our room was nothing special, with the bathroom below four star standard, being on the small side and with very poor ventillation. This left the whole room warm and damp, when we'd been out, so not opened the doors. The two chairs were not comfortable, and not suitable for relaxing. As a result of all of this, the second week was a struggle for us and by the end of the holiday we were glad to be leaving. Basically, it seems that this hotel is much better geared up to weddings and conferences, than catering for relaxing couples on holiday. Delegates would not be affected by the additional noise or the unchanging menu. PS During the second week we met several single ladies who had booked into another, much cheaper H10 hotel, at Santa Ponça, but had been moved here because that hotel was not yet ready to open after refurbishment. Apparently they had each been given a suite! Bearing in mind that superior rooms at the Punta Negra were around £800 more per week HB than those at the Santa Ponça, it would have been a nice gesture if couples, like us, in noisy rooms had been offered an upgrade to a suite, that way all would have had a fair upgrade!
Perfection, if you are looking for amazing views, relaxing surroundings and cuisine beautifully prepared and presented, then this Hotel is for you. Welcoming staff to escort you to your suite, comfortable fully equipped rooms, bars and terraces. It was our first visit to Punta Negra and we hope to visit again soon, you could never be disappointed.
I attended the hotel as a part of a yoga retreat together with my wife. The hotel was very calm and serene and we slept well and had a fantastic retreat. The surroundings were fantastic, including sea on three sides as well as twp private beaches. The staff were very supportive and helped us find a lost key as we had returned home and contacted them. They then assisted in sending it back, very much appreciated. We will return!
I have some ambivalence about the holiday I spent at the Punta Negra. But let's start with some positives. The approach to the hotel is a few hundred metres from the local dual carriageway and so well isolated from traffic noise. Like the rest of the grounds, the area in front of the hotel is immaculately tended and has a superb range of very impressive cacti. The location on a small headland is very good and allows views of the very expensive large gin palaces that moor nearby. There is an a la carte restaurant, which is very good quality and generally in service, but the unvarying menu does pall after a few days. The breakfasts have a good range of foods, but here I start becoming irked. The noise level in the breakfast room can be annoyingly high and this is not helped when ill disciplined children are allowed to run around shouting. The rooms, for a high priced boutique hotel, are surprisingly ordinary (based on a sea view superior). The bath room is small and not well ventilated. I also struggle with the description "boutique" which I associate with small and very individually styled hotels (not one of this size, style and commercial approach). It was not as peaceful as I would have wished. Noisy conversation from the pool area, jet skis and departing aircraft all had a negative impact. Would I return? No. It is not good value for money, and despite the positives, is disappointing.
After visiting many H10 hotels in the last six years, we decided to visit Punta Negra again and were not disappointed. The grounds are very beautiful and tranquil with plenty of places to get away and relax. The outdoor pools are freezing and i could only stop in for 3 or 4 minutes before having to get out. I would expect at a boutique hotel for there to be at least one outdoor pool that is heated. The staff are very pleasant and drinks at the bar were reasonably priced. Some of the paved areas are very uneven - I did mention this 6 years ago and although some look to have been replaced, others have worn and become uneven and loose - had to be very careful with my mother how at times is not good with walking. Do be aware that this hotel is used for many conferences and it was very daunting having to walk through a crowded lounge area to access our room.
H10 Punta Negra is a high class hotel with excellent location with two intimate beaches. We had a modern delicate room with a sea view through a few pine trees. Relaxing and nice. The bathroom could have been bigger and better soundproofed towards the neighbours, but that is the only minuses I can think of. The garden/park around the hotel is well kept and a very nice oasis to relax and enjoy. The sea is right outside the hotel and there are two beaches facing each way. North and south, morning and afternoon. The hotel has an extensive breakfast buffet with something for everyone. One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever experienced. Impressive. We also ordered lunch from the menu at the terrace and everything very tasty and fresh. A highly recommendable hotel, nice location in a quiet area without any traffic through. We will be back next time we go to Mallorca. Well done!
Stayed here last week with my wife,we arrived to be welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and an upgrade to a superior room with sea view. The room was bright clean and spacious with great views and the beds and bedding were the most comfortable i've had from a hotel. Breakfast choice was just great everything you could have wanted. The two beaches were a bit stoney but were sheltered and secluded with stunning views. location was great quiet but just a 5 minute walk to a great bus service we used them to go to Palma.Portal Nous,Port Portal,Palma Nova,Santa Ponsa and Magaluf. The harbour front at Port Portal is well worth a visit. The staff from the waiters to the front desk were friendly and attentive. I will definitely go back if i were to return to Majorca.
