What a great hotel. Within walking distance to things like the Royal Palace and Grand Via. The front desk staff..Javier, Barbara and the girls who's name began with an M were wonderful. Javier was able to get us into a room earlier then the check in time. It was an upgraded room but with the cost which was minimal. The front desk staff gave great suggestions for places to eat. They printed things out that I emailed them on the computer right away. They greeted you every time you entered the hotel. The breakfast was amazing and well worth the ten euros. They even asked what time I needed a taxi to get back to the airport and had one waiting for me in the morning! The special touches like the hand written welcome letters from the staff, the wifi device to use around town, and the water to drink in the lobby made my stay at the hotel very pleasant. And I have read other reviews and it wasn't noisy like people say...only one night it was but we were so tired that it didn't matter. If you are looking for a smaller hotel that's in the center of Madrid I recommend Room Mate Laura!
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel, like VIPs, the room was a lovely duplex (an upgrade that was a nice surprise on arrival), with comfy bed and super soft pillows it was all really good. Staff on reception were gave a very warm welcome and couldn't do enough to ensure we had everything we needed. I would heartily recommend this hotel.
Location, location location ! Quiet street yet close to everything ! Great rooms the triple room was very spacious! Delicious breakfast GLUTEN FREE available! Just ask the person in charged ! The service is the best !! People at the reception very helpful. Thanks for being so kind !
Stayed here for two nights and was really happy with the hotel. You can't beat the location which is in walking distance to many of the tourist sights and in a central lively area. There are loads of places to eat and drink at a close walk from the hotel. I got a free room upgrade which was nice. My room was large and comfortable with nice toiletries and good amenities. Hotel breakfast buffet was good to with a decent selection. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.
very good location, very friendly staff, cleanliness and services in general very good, nice breakfast room, nice decoration.subway underground at hand.restaurants bars malls, nightclubs, everything within reach.
What a great little hotel! Very close to Puerto del Sol and 10 minutes walking from Plaza Mayor. Great area for walking and exploring Madrid, close to shops for the shopper, easy access to the metro and 1/2 hour via Renfe to the airport. Great breakfast buffet that is served until 12:00. We had the suite which was great. Quiet street but 3 short blocks away is bustling Madrid. I am excited to check other Room Mate hotels!
The hotel definitely has the customer in mind and they do everything they can to make it a great experience. The people in the front desk were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and the room is super cool.
I WOULD GIVE THIS HOTEL A 10 OUT OF 5 IF I COULD. OK it is not a five star hotel - but I always consider that the star of a hotel is based on location, comfort and primarily staff effort. The location is great, the comfort of the room is impeccable, however the staff are just unbelievable. I have stayed in five star hotels where the staff are no-where near as good as they are at this hotel. So let Laura be your room mate in Madrid. I am staying here again in a couple of months it was that good. One of the best finds that I have made this year.
I stayed in Room Mate Laura 8 years ago with my daughter and stayed this month with my husband. I thought it was a great place to stay in Madrid then and it was just as enjoyable this time. The location is wonderful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. You have a kitchenette in your room, the choice to have breakfast at the hotel and within walking distance of a supermarket if you choice to have breakfast/lunch/dinner in your room. There are 3 subway stations walking distance from the hotel and an easy ride from the airport or the main railway station. I love this place and would stay here again if I am back in Madrid.
We arrived a bit early and our room wasn't ready. We were asked if we would like to upgrade to a nicer room which was available. We did and loved the loft that this room had. The staff is outstanding and the location fabulous. The only drawback that I could report is that while the room may have a kitchenette it is not stocked with dishes, glasses, or cutlery. There is an extra charge for such things which should be included in my opinion.
