We stayed for 7 nights at the G3 and found it to be very comfortable and handy for travel into the city centre. On arrival we were welcomed by a friendly young lady who spoke very good English (as did all the staff). The room itself was spotless with a seating area and dining table as well as a small compact kitchen, which rather confusingly had four sliding doors covering it, which meant when you wanted to cook you could not access the fridge and vice versa without sliding doors back and forth. There were enough pots and pans etc for our needs but no kettle, however after speaking to the nice girl on the desk one was supplied the following day. The bedroom was quite large with two single beds (I had booked a double, but it was no hardship) and the beds were very comfortable. there was a wardrobe which included a safe although you did have to ask at the front desk for the lock and key. A large bathroom housed both a bath and over-bath power shower, bidet and toilet and sink. The Aparthotel also has a small gym on the top floor as well as a pool table although we did not make use of this facility. They advertise satellite TV but it is all Spanish channels on a very small screen and there is free very good wifi in the rooms for those who cannot do without checking their e-mails or whatever The G3 is situated about a 5 minute walk from the Metro (go up to the main road and turn right, there is an entrance on the opposite side of the (busy) main road as well as further along on the same side of the street and across yet another busy road. There is also quite a few small shops for groceries etc and two supermarkets again within 5 minutes of the G3 and on the main road (top of road turn left) as well as quite a few good and reasonable priced restaurants in the vicinty. One thing to be aware of is that the bin-men come round every night about 11.30 at night and can be quite noisy but only for a short time obviously The Madrid Metro system is an excellent way of getting around and costs 1.50 euro for a single journey or the best bet is to buy a ten journey ticket for 12 (something) euro and is transferable meaning that two people can do five journeys.
The staff is kind and at the service from 0 to 24. The apartment is clean, the terrace is huge, our favorite part. The location is great, close to cafes, shops, metro station and Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. All praise.
The apartments are quite OK, balcony was superb (3rd floor). Quite spartan in terms of furniture, it delivers the basics for a short stay. On the upper side, besides the balcony, the staff was very helpful and nice and the apartment was kept clean.
To be honest, when we arrived at the hotel and checked in, after we saw the room, we were a bit disappointed. The rooms would definitely need some improvements here and there, especially in the bathrooms. Despite this, the flat was very clean. Well, our trouble started after the first night: the heating was centralized, and in the living room it was warm and pleasant, while in the bedroom we didn't have hot air, but air conditioning... Not very good for January I might say, and very inconvenient as we were there with our 18 months baby girl. The next day, we informed the receptionist that we consider this being a engineering problem, which they agreed, and someone from maintenance was supposed to come and have a look the next day, since the person finished duty already. Understandable. The next day, I raised the issue again, but the problem wasn't solved, therefore me and my daughter we had to sleep in the leaving room cause we were already starting getting a cold from the AC. I had to address another request/complaint to the reception, which was raised to the duty manager and I was offered on the spot another room at the 4th floor. Well, at first I had the impression this second room is in another hotel: it was very cozy, warm, sunny and we slept very well for the second part of our vacation. Overall, I consider having bad luck with the first room. The hotel is average but clean, good located (close to the subway, lots of restaurants in the area, also plenty of shops, walking distance from Corte Ingles and Bernabeu), the kitchen has everything you need, but I don't think I would make the same choice when traveling with a baby. For business travelers, yes, it's a good choice.
The location was perfect for me as my office is at Calle Orense, everybody was so cool with my little dog and all the beds were so comfortable. The heater was perfect and you could set up the temperature yourself really easily. The staff was so professional and friendly at all times.
I am surprised by all the great reviews for this hotel. I was here for work and this hotel was the only one available near the office. Pros: The hotel is located down a small side street so there is minimal traffic. It's quiet when trying to go to sleep. The staff is friendly and the front desk is open 24 hours. The rooms are kept clean. The wi-fi works great. Cons: The hotel is located 20 minutes north of the downtown area. While the metro is close by and easy to navigate, there are few options near the hotel to eat/drink. The furniture is ok but the beds are a bit hard and they do not have many rooms with a double bed. The bathrooms could do with a refresh as the paint is peeling off the walls and the shower pressure is low. The breakfast is very basic with some fruit, cereal, yogurt, donuts and bought croissants in plastic bags. Instant coffee (!) and tea are available. A bit expensive at 7.95€. They charge €2/day for a lock for the in-room safe. This is a good 3-Star hotel for those that are on vacation and do not need many amenities and do not mind being far from the downtown. For those on business I would not recommend as you can get better value elsewhere.
We stayed at the Aparthotel G3 Galeon for 12 nights from April 16th to the 28th. We were really happy with our room, Separate bathroom with bidet, bathtub with shower, and a sink. Bedroom with closet, desk with chair and two beds. And living room with table and 2 chairs, TV, couch, table with drawers that the TV sits on, and small kitchen area with cupboards with kitchen utensils, range top, small fridge, microwave and sink. Everything worked fine, lot's of hot water. Room was cleaned extremely well daily and front desk staff were friendly and helpful when asked questions. Hotel wifi worked excellently. Breakfast was good with bread, buns, muffins, toaster (and broiler), muffins, jam(s), cheese and ham. Two cereals - corn flakes and puffed wheat, hot and cold milk, orange and apple juice, banana's, kiwi's, apples, and pears sometimes. Also coffee and tea. The only complaint we had was noise from the apartment above you carried through quite loud which would require earplugs - which we brought so it was not a problem for us. There is a safe in the room but one has to pay 2 Euro a day for the lock for it which is a bit high for an extended day but overall we were very happy with our stay. Close to the metro and many restaurants in the area and shops to buy groceries.
Was going to cancel this booking on a few occasions as i really wasn't sure about staying here. I'm a nightmare when I arrive at hotels/apartments as I never give places a chance if there is even 1 thing wrong. Arrived at G3 Galeon with my husband and 2 children 10,7 for a 4 day city break to watch Real Madrid and explore the city. Ok the location isn't very central but the metro station (Tetuan) which we used everyday is literally at the top of the road we bought a 10 trip ticket which cost €12 or a single trip is €1,90, using the metro was very handy and convenient for Sol which is the main centre. It is also an easy walking distance (15 mins) to the Bernabéu stadium. There also a few shops in the area and a Mercadona supermarket a few streets away. The apartment had 1 bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge, there was also a galley kitchen with microwave, cooker sink and dishes etc, but no kettle. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable and really clean although it's basic it was still more than what we needed as we were out most of the time. The bedroom has great storage and a nice dressing table/ mirror area. There was maid service everyday and as I said the room I was kept clean and tidy. The only negative I have is the bathroom could have been doing with alot of cheering up as the tiles had brown covering on them which was peeling off and it generally just needed modernised but again was functional and clean. We had breakfast included again basic but adequate. There is a lounge area on the top floor with sofas, tv and pool table which we used a couple of evenings for half an hour or so. The staff were very helpful when we needed to ask questions and were pleasant on check in. As a family the space was great when we were in the apartment and having a fridge and kitchen facilities was great too, glad we decided to stay here after all and would say it was great value for money.
Spent four nights in the G3 Galeon apartments, 18 - 21 March 16. We went to Madrid to take in the Real Madrid v Sevilla game, and these apartments are well situated for this purpose, it's an easy 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Bernabeu. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms could really do with an up grade but the beds were clean and comfortable and the room for three of us were reasonably priced, the hotel is located near the subway station and only 15 minutes into the centre of Madrid. The area where the hotel is situated has some shops and café but its not a tourist area so a bit of Spanish would help.
I was a solo traveler from the UK, stayed here basically for the entire month of August 2015 (over 4 weeks) - meant to write this review earlier. Here are my findings! Location: I was on a training course very close by so the location was perfect for me but bear in mind that it's basically close to (or in) the financial business district area of Madrid, rather than the tourist hub central area. (It's also very close to the Bernabau football stadium). Hotel: I arrived late in the evening, no problem as reception is staffed 24 hrs (I think) and the English speaking staff at reception were very friendly. My "room" basically consisted of a bedroom, ensuite bathroom, and separate sitting room with kitchenette. No complaints regarding the room. It was clean and functional. Yes, I've read some previous reviews and it's true that some of the decor and fittings in the bathroom did need replacing - but you have to judge this on the price/cost of the hotel. For this price range/standard of hotel (think Premier Inn in the UK) level of standard, it was absolutely fine. I opted for the breakfast option purely for convenience which was fine, but basic - bread and pastries, ham, cheese, and fruit juices / coffee/tea. The kitchenette in the room was great as you could make basic meals if you didn't feel like going out - I often boiled pasta in the evenings after getting back from my training course. There was a 2 ring electric hob and a microwave (which I never used), a fridge with small freezer compartment you could keep ice in....... which leads to my favourite aspect of this hotel - the ice machine on the top floor! I loved it - especially in the August 40 degree heat. I also used the reasonably priced laundry service which worked perfectly (although they don't iron for you they do offer you an iron and board to do it yourself). Wifi in the room was fine - occasional outages, but generally ok. Negatives: There weren't many negatives to my stay here. If I have to mention one it would be one word "children". Yes, those sweet little angels you see checking in with their parents at reception somehow turn into the children of Satan once they reach their room. The noise that those little darlings manage to generate is impressive, as they shout, scream, run up and down the corridors pushing the room doorbells. On a serious note, yes, I was kept awake some nights by children but then, in fairness, this is a child friendly hotel so you have to expect that (which is why I didn't complain about it). The price/room space ratio will always make these hotels very attractive to families who probably constitute the core business. Overall: Children aside, I really liked this hotel, great room, friendly staff, good value. I would recommend it without hesitation.
