Super 8 by Wyndham Madison

Clean and comfortable with helpful staff

Our room was clean and comfortable and the young man at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. He helped my husband print out some forms we needed. The motel is within 500 feet of a Pizza Ranch restaurant so that was a plus. The complimentary breakfast is the only complaint I have. I was down to the lobby shortly after 6 am to get some fresh fruit before we left and all that was available was the same apple I had seen the night before. There were only a handful of other guests there so I'm assuming staff had not stocked the breakfast offerings before 6 am. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Days Inn by Wyndham Brookings

Reasonable accommodations

This is an older hotel. Some rooms show wear and need some repair, remodeling. They are clean, however, and the pool area is great for kids. Breakfast room is big with a good continental breakfast. Very reasonable room rates. Would I bring a bunch of 10 year olds here for a casual birthday party or sports tournament? Absolutely. Would I want to spend an upscale honeymoon here? No.

What to for fun in Madison

Madison isn't just about culture. Say 'hey' to your inner child at Splash Zone Waterpark. Or, better yet, let it loose as you ride the rides, chow down on snacks, and play games for prizes. Coughlin-Alumni Stadium is a mecca for kids and adults (and inner children) alike. Catch a game or concert while hanging out in those stadium seats.

Drama unfolds on the silver screens at Madison Movie Theatre. Spend an afternoon with some action heroes, hopeless romantics or cartoon characters — as well as some candy and soda — as you kick back in the dark theater. Sport Bowl offers a bit of timeless fun.
