I stayed at the Americas Best Value Inn for one night. The owner runs the place and ensures the best service is provided to the guest at an affordable price. The rooms were very clean and the beddings and bedrooms fittings very new. I highly recommend it.
We were traveling and doing a little “off the beaten trail” hotel stays. Shelbina’s Americas Best fit the bill. The room was clean, the staff were friendly small town folk and we got what we expected. We had a nice quiet night and a no frills continental breakfast the next morning. One word of warning, the hotel looks more like an insurance office than a hotel. The sign is small and the room are all on one level behind the facade. We passed it initially, looking for the big sign and a multistory building. The experience gave us another fun vacation travel story.
I did not enjoy the experience at all. The hot water did not have a variable knob, thus only one temperature of warm water, The television was very old and had a poor picture. There was no protein offered at breakfast nor real cream (only powder) for coffee. The hallway light shone through the gap in the door, and was never dimmed even in the late hours. One day, the room was not even cleaned.
Hotel was fine ,front desk person very good and she made up for the general manager who needs major training on simple customer service and how to handle folks , I'm 56 years old and he called me an old man,not that I'm not an old man but he called me that without ever seeing me , I guarantee I do more in 2 hours than he does in a day, he needs to be in a supervised position not the supervisor, Keith
We made reservations for the stay when we left in June at the desk. They put it into their computer system which ran it through a travel agency and increase our cost by more then 10%. You can see why we were very upset with this handling. They claimed that we made the reservation on=line but we didn't.
I stayed at this hotel while doing business in Monroe City. This hotel had everything I needed, was extremely well kept, and had a very welcoming vibe. The hotel staff was friendly and thoughtful. I was extremely pleased with my stay here and would recommend it to anyone in the area!
Spacious room and bathroom. No windows. Included frig, microwave, free WIFI. Every room decorated with shadow boxes & decor on a specific theme. Quaint and creative. Generous quantity of towels. Great bargain.
There are many different types of hotels. Some offer you all kinds of amenities, such as full breakfasts, exercise rooms, pools, etc; This is not one of those. I had to do a lot for myself. With that said, I like it here. It's small, quiet, and comfortable. The wifi is decent, the television channel list is long, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. There is only the weakest of continental breakfasts, but they didn't mind me cooking my own in room. I brought a George Foreman grill for bacon and did my own microwaved scrambled eggs. I also cooked my night meals here. (I washed my own dishes.) But, when I needed a can opener, the staff provided one. Salt and pepper...provided. The cleaning woman was always the same one and was always nice. There are very few rooms (only 1 level). The distance to any room is very minimal and if you need to go to your car it's just as easy. Just like home. So, when I say it has the comforts of home, I'm being honest. It's got what you bring to it, really and not much more, but the small staff are very nice and accommodating where they can be. I have spent 3 weeks in this hotel over the last year and I'd have no concerns if I went back.
I found this little place when I couldn't get into a chain hotel in Hannibal, MO in 2014. This is not a fancy motel but it has what you need. It is always clean. It is VERY QUIET!!! I have stayed here numerous times, sometimes alone and at times with husband. He has also stayed here alone. We commute from NE to TN and eastern USA via MO highway 36. The road is great and this motel is right on the way. The breakfast is sufficient but not a buffet. There is cereal and packaged rolls, juice, and coffee. It's enough to start your day. The staff is always friendly. Barbara is always there in the early AM, with a smile. And I do recommend a reservation. Remember, this is not luxurious---no pool, no buffet, no cookies and coffee during the night BUT, again, the essentials are there. There is a microwave, fridge, and coffee in the room as well as good cable TV. The rooms are large--very roomy and every room has a platform rocker and platform foot rest!!! There are vending machines and there is also a rack with magazines and books to borrow in the lobby. It is one story so there is no elevator noise! What more can you want? We love this place!!!!
Very basic motel, clean comfortable room, a/c worked, tv worked, bathroom was clean and facility was quiet! Minimal breakfast items, good coffee but overall an exceptional value for a super reasonable price.
