Ideal location near Perrache Railway Station, this hotel is the good choice if you like comfort and design. The bonus: good jazz music on the week-end! I recomand this hotel without any hesitation, as a good balance between price and service level.
Overnight stay on route to Fréjus, can't comment on facilities as we didn't use any but our room was excellent, we were fortunate to find free parking around the hotel (wasn't easy) however, there is a car park within eyesight with discounted rates offered by the hotel. We arrived quite late and very tired driving from London, we had prepared food from home for a late evening meal which needed to be heated, the wonderful lady at the bar didn't just heat the food for us but put the food in bowls on a tray with cutlery and even offered to bring the food up to our room, her kindness and understanding made our short stay memorable and we are truly thankful to her, just wish we took her name to make this review more personable.
The staff were very helpful and they understood english great so dont worry if your from Australia,Uk, USA or Canada. The one thing that wasnt great was the wifi on the 5th floor very poor. To avoid that just use your own data or go downstairs near reception.
We stayed at the Kyriad during the World Cup and it was great. Our room was small, but the bed was comfy, the AC worked, and water pressure good and hot. Being right next to the train station made it easy to get in and around the city. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It would have been nice if the restaurant stayed open a little later. The breakfast buffet is okay, probably not worth the extra expense.
We liked the arty jazzy breakfast/bar area and the reception was attractive too. We also liked the little table and chairs area outside. It was very handy for using the Metro or the tram system. The first room we were given was awful, dark and drab, at the back of the hotel. The second was much better, being on the front of the hotel although there were a number of things that were far from perfect. We didn't like the paper cups for hot drinks in the room and we got tired of asking for more milk. There were NO drawers at all in our room and no comfortable chair even though there was enough room.(we were there for 5 nights). It also seemed strange to have the wash basin in the actual bedroom and not in the bathroom. There were no shelves or flat surface in the bathroom to put washing items on. The grouting in the bathroom needed a good scrub. The public areas downstairs were lovely but the corridors upstairs were shabby and badly needed a lick of paint.
Located next to a nice restaurant. Very spacious layout. Basin situated outside the toilet, which is good and bad, cause the floor around it to be wet. Toilet inside flooded a little due to possibly low gradient. Very spacious room with 2 double beds for 3 persons. With 2 TV sets and lots of walking space. Big lift which can accommodate up to 6 persons or more with luggages.
I stayed at this hotel on 16-17 Feb 2019. The hotel is located in the good location near Gare de Perrache. Moreover, the reception, Mr. Julien, was very friendly and very nice. Greatly appreciated, nice place to stay.
This hotel was ok. It is extremely close and easily accessible to the Lyon Perrache Station which is useful for the metro and trams within Lyon. The old town is also within walking distance and there are supermarkets and a laundromat nearby if needed. The only issue with location is that if you are catching a train to or from Lyon from another city (e.g. Dijon, Geneva, etc), the main trains normally arrive and depart at Lyon Part-Dieu, which is another 8min train trip away from Perrache. Not a deal-breaker, but just something to be aware of! The cleanliness of the room was not great - I don't think the floor behind the bathroom door had ever been cleaned (which you could of course see when you were in the bathroom with the door closed) and the carpets had not been vacuumed. The bed was very comfortable and heating good. I also didn't receive top-ups of tea or coffee and had to ask reception, but they were happy to oblige and helpful. I probably wouldn't come back to this hotel mostly from a location point of view - I'd choose to stay closer to Part-Dieu or more towards the Old Town/City Centre because I don't mind walking to explore a city! The location is good if you prefer public transport.
It's completely unpleasant this situation. We just went out for couple of hours and when I came back checked my wallet and found out that my money wasn't there anymore. If you come to LYON, go to another hotel, this one its not safe. Also internet is pretty shift.
We have enjoyed a 2 day stay at the Kyriad in Lyon. We booked a family room (double plus 2 singles) and were delighted to find the singles were on a mezzanine which gave our teens a feeling of having their own space. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff were all friendly and helpful and the hotel is very conveniently located near Lyon Perrache station. There shops nearby and it's a very short walk to the Presquile area of Lyon and about a mile along the river to the old town. There are transport options at the station where you can take the team or the underground or catch a bus if you aren't up to walking. I've given the hotel 4 not 5 as... The lift is tiny (limited to 3 people), they use disposable cups, wrapped in plastic in the rooms (we are trying to reduce plastic waste) and even though we were on the 6th floor we had no view as the windows were skylights. I would stay here again (I'd bring my own reusable cups).
