The room was small. The staff wasn't very friendly. Had a coffee maker in room no coffee pot for it.
The beds are like bricks. I tossed & turned all night long. Went to get breakfast@845am & was told breakfast ends@900am as well as dining area closing. I was told I could take breakfast to my room. No coffee, warm juice, bread without a toaster and cereal with no milk. So I made a waffle & told couldn’t take it to my room by front desk after I was told I could by front desk. Wouldn’t give any discount or take anything off my bill. If breakfast is to be included then you need to allow me to eat it. So when I got to my room I pulled milk I bought the night before out of the fridge for a drink and it was completely frozen. I will never stay here again!
The outside of the hotel looks very dated and sub par, however, the room was large, lovely, clean and comfortable. HOWEVER, We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night, leaving on a Monday. We were out all day Sunday. When we returned, our room had not been cleaned, nor new towels. ( We had seen an older man in the hallway with a cart when we left Sunday morning.) But were told on Monday that their cleaner did not work on Sundays. So I wouldn't recommend staying over a Saturday and Sunday unless you want to make your own bed.
One of my regular stops, been here a few times, nice hotel , good location, I got room 201 this time. Nice , clean room, nice and cooled when I got there. 2 miles from Appomattox Court house NHP, which is now free admission. Went to Granny Lee's diner on the other side of town for a good breakfast, very cheap. You can get to the Wal-Mart by the service road on the back for shopping.
I booked there because all others were sold out. I didn't expect it to be a comfortable environment but was surprised that it was. A little musty smell but I had my own air freshener. There was no iron and I called to request one and did not receive it. Bathroom light was flicking called to front desk and it was changed. Decent enough to lay your head.
we stayed here one night, the rooms was reasonably priced, it smelled a bit musty, but air conditioner worked well, bathroom was clean and bed was comfy. the air chair in the room was very dirty, did not want to sit in it. the check in clerk was nice, but the clerk in the morning was very nasty and demeaning, made us both very uncomfortable.
First, when we arrived, the hotel manager was arguing with another checking in guest about reservations and the $$ amount. Then, our room was horrible-very dirty. Did not want to walk on the carpet. Free breakfast was not one I wanted to eat.Looked like high risk of disease. Difficulty getting extra towels. Had to use own soap because that provided was inadequate by far.
We stayed overnight here because we had a long drive from our vacation in the SC coastal region back to Michigan. We also made a plan to visit the Appomattox Courthouse Historical Park the following day, on our way out of town. We were very, very tired travelers after our busy week of activities along the SC coast(including the Great Eclipse!). We didn't want to spend a lot for just one night. This place fit the bill. We paid $69 for a room with a king bed, a small fridge, microwave, coffee pot (with coffee included), in-room safe, tv with cable & bathroom. The side hallway smelled a little cigarette-y. Maybe because people smoke outside by the entry door there because the rooms are non-smoking. Our room was on the second floor. It was stuffy when we walked in but after turning on the air-conditioning, it soon was fine. It was clean and, as a matter of fact, one of the cleanest bathrooms of the accomidtions we had all week. Towels, a small bottle of shampoo & little bars of soap were provided. Shower was great; plants of nice, hot water and a bowed out style shower curtain bar so it felt more room-y in the shower. In the morning there was light breakfast fare served in the lobby. You could make your own giant waffle using waffle iron and batter provided. There was muffins, fresh fruit, cereal & milk, coffee and two kinds of juice. It was perfect because we didn't have to bother stopping somewhere to eat, then, on the way to the Historical Park. It isn't the Hilton but it isn't trying to be. Just a decent, clean place to hang your hat for the night at a budget-minded price. Apparently other people agree because the parking lot was pretty full. We would stay here again.
We arrived late and they did not have a handicapped accessible room. He reworked bookings and got us a room on the first floor . Nice clean place. Would stay there again and recommend it to anyone!
We had a great stay here. Room kept clean; bathroom always clean; managers very nice; food court great; Convenient location to many pkaces. Only complaint - towels need replacing. Very very rough. We're not picky but even husband's only complaint was the towels. We give an A+. Oh, bed very comfortable.
