Hotel is nice but staff is horrible. Front desk lady on her phone the entire time as guest are walking in and trying to ask questions or get assistants. Coffee claims to be Starbucks coffee but highly doubt that since it tasted like cheap hotel or hospital coffee at the Starbucks price. The lady making the coffee drinks was absolutely clueless as to what she was doing.
Easy access from Freeway bypass. Staff is very friendly to a frequent Marriott user. Room is clean and very adequate as well as quiet. Has three or four decent restaurants in walking distance. Parking is easy.
Rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. Wish the breakfast opened before 7 am on Saturday. They also used to have free coffee in lobby -- now you have to pay for coffee. NOT GOOD!!!! They could at least have free coffee in the lobby when restaurant not open until 7:00 am
I had a reservation for the Courtyard Lubbock for a room with a queen bed and a pullout couch, I called to confirm and they said the room would be ready. We arrived late Friday evening and all they could offer was a handicap accessible room that didn't have the bed arrangement as promised. I ended at another Courtyard six miles away that had a workable bed arrangement but the room was $60 more than the agreed rate. I followed up with a manager the next week and she said she would take care of it but still nothing. I stay 50+ nights a year at Marriotts and have never had this type of issue. I'd avoid this property and try one of the other hotels in the area/city.
Traveling to Lubbock twice a year for a few years, this was my preferred and favorite hotel. I grew to be on a first name basis with personnel and several remembered me over the months and years! It was so wonderful to hang in the bistro with my new friends both from the hotel and guests passing through. To some naysayers I know, one has to remember that it is a Courtyard in Lubbock, TX and not New York City. The establishment was clean and well kept, my bed was usual Courtyard style (great), and sheets and towels were clean. If anything, I'd request that staff review the work-out room now and again as a barbell was missing. Not really a big deal. Walking distance to common chain restaurants and a short drive to local Lubbock fare. Loved staying here and I will again.
This hotel is in a great area that is an easy walk to Jason's Deli, I-Hop and Cheddars to name a few. The hotel appears to be older but completely renovated and done nicely in a very bright modern decor. The staff is very impressive, dressed nicely and yes people do notice. They are very friendly and I saw them cleaning several times. I can't say enough about how that stood out. As mentioned, the hotel appears to be older and that is seen in the one small elevator that is unlike any I have seen in any hotel anywhere. One tiny elevator for the whole hotel. You can easily walk right past it since it is so small and not recognizable as a elevator. It wasn't a big deal for us but at busy times it can be a wait. There's a lot of good in this hotel but the two negatives would keep me from returning. I'm a bed snob, I'll admit it. I like more of a cushy pillow top and not a hard flat surface. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and so was the temperature in the room. It was mild weather outside in early March so I can't imagine staying here when it's warmer. We had the temperature set low and the fan on high and it never felt really cool until the next morning. A hard bed and a warm room don't make for an enjoyable night. I wish Marriott could invest in better beds in every brand so that all of their guests no matter what their price point, everyone could enjoy a good night's sleep. I tried the other Courtyard on the other side of town the week before and found the beds to be the same. Because of these two things only I won't return.
Stayed here during a very busy time; graduation from TTU... GO RED RAIDERS. Staff professional and rooms were clean. The only incident that stops me from giving this establishment 5 stars, they should have had extra breakfast food on hand for a hotel booked at 100% capacity.
Nice clean facility with really nice staff. The bistro every has a great selection of breakfast and dinner options, wide screen TV and cocktails. Bed was comfy, bathroom large and they gave me toothpaste we I discovered I forgot mine.
I was very pleased with the hotel and the staff. The hotel is older but is up to date. The beds are comfortable, rooms are large and very clean. They have coffee and cookies during the evening. The staff made sure my stay was comfortable as well. Great job Courtyard Lubbock!
Ok. It's a staple Marriott that's only 10 minutes from the airport but Chloe and company rock. What fun people who enjoy their jobs and make a difference to weary travelers. Upon check-in they were warm and friendly and bent over backwards to accommodate our nee for 6 rooms. They offered up ideas and suggestions which is rare. I'm 6'4" and queen beds don't cut it. They anticipated that and even though they were just about near capacity, they made it work. The warm fresh chocolate chip cookies (not store bought) were a bonus. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Nothing special. Standard Marriott fare. There's really no breakfast, at least not what we could see and the bar is limited to primarily beer and wine. If you're looking for a home away home (at least how they make you feel) that's close to the airport so you can get out of Lubbock. This is a nice spot. Easy access. Right next to the expressway. A straight shot to the airport. Lots of restaurant choices nearby. It's not a vacation destination by any means. It's a stop over for those early morning flights. But they treat you with a Texas hospitality and it's worth the stay.
