My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary stay in this historic stone cabin. The host was attentive, the setting was lovely and comfortable, and the cabin brought the area’s history to life. We would gladly return. The only thing I would draw attention to is that this is not a handicap accessible property. The only bathroom is up a narrow staircase that could pose a problem for very senior guests or those with difficulty navigating stairs. Having said that, we loved everything about our stay!

The cabin was cozy and inviting with so much history, and the grounds are meticulously maintained and absolutely gorgeous. Don was very nice to talk to and we enjoyed the 2 house pups that would let us pet them.

Beautifully restored home! Check-in was easy and contactless. The hosts sent all instructions to us before our stay. We found everything we needed. The house was very clean and comfortable. Definitely highly recommend!

A quiet oasis

This unique property adjoins a nature park that helps you forget that you are in a metro area. It's a calming experience. We enjoyed the absence of TV screens. The resident dogs are friendly.

If the walls could talk...

Such a facinating place to call home for most of a week. All the history, the time and the effort the owner has put into this place.Takes you back to when life was simple and didn't "want" for the "stuff" like we do these days.Whether a home base for the Bourbon Trail or just a private get away, don't hesitate to book this little gem.

Absolutely splendid!!!

The location was beautiful; the pond water fountain was peaceful to listen to. The cabin was a cozy and welcoming environment. Also, the communication was a 10/10, and I was incredibly impressed.

Country Beautiful, Close to everything

We so enjoyed our time at this historical cabin and the owner was informative with suggestions of great dinner spots while respecting our privacy. I fell in love with the screened porch each morning. It was a perfect place for a couple to celebrate our anniversary and continue our exploration of an area we have grown to love.It'siIt'sounds of nature.

Great Weekend

My wife and I stayed at the property for our 22nd wedding anniversary. The whole property is very nice. The history about the premises was very interesting, cleanliness was good, and it was very relaxing sitting in the enclosed patio. Conveniently located close to Churchill Downs, Louisville Slugger museum, and some of the bourbon trail distilleries. Owners were very friendly. Had a great weekend.

Unique Getaway

The cabin and property are beautifully done. Gas fireplace was a big bonus. Donald was very friendly (my husband enjoys talking with people in new places) and gave us lots of details about the property. A very romantic Christmas for us this year. Do note that the stairs are steep and quite a workout (as noted in description). The shower is nice, but not made for extra large people. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent Getaway

Oct 23 thru Oct 26, 2023 This was a pleasant surprise! My wife and I had stayed in a log cabin in the same proximity, but this stone cabin was spectacular. The inside of the cabin is tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a long weekend or extended getaway. The fall foliage with bright yellows and reds made this a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. The pond and the sprawling acreage were easy on the eyes and the patio area was comfy and inviting. Donald was very accommodating, friendly, and he made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. The two pups were cute and reminded us of our two back home! Unfortunately, we had to leave a day early, but we will stay here again!

Unforgettable Stay

We were stunned to find the cabin was over 200 years old. It was super cozy and utterly elegant. Every thoughtful detail, inside the cabin and out added to the relaxed luxe experience. Fascinating history provided on the property and lots to explore on the grounds. I reserved the only date available during our stay, but highly recommend spending more time if you can. Don was friendly, accommodating and informative and we loved the puppers on this property as well!

Peaceful getaway that takes you back in time

Beautifully restored cabin tucked away by a pond with an attached enclosed porch that is perfect for drinking tea, coffee, wine, or bourbon! The cabin is close to more historic homes & hiking trails yet still very accessible to the food and fun of Louisville. We were mesmerized by the beauty of the property and meticulous upkeep of the backyard patio with sculptures & well kept plants that holds more seating to enjoy the view. In the cabin we enjoyed the amazing fire place, and quiet nature of the stone walls and wood floors that take you back in time! The furniture and artwork were so well thought out we had numerous conversations regarding the design aspect :-) We hope to visit again!
