My husband and I choose this hotel every time we visit Louisville and we are always pleased with The Galt House. This past visit was the only time we got to our room and it wasnt clean. We paid for an upgrade and it looked like staff may have eaten lunch in our room. There were crumbs of food on the table and on the carpet in front of the couch. The hotel was very busy so we didn't bother ro call about it we just cleaned it up ourselves. Maybe somehow we can get a discount on our next stay.
first hotel room had a toilet that did not flush. We were moved to another room only to discover that the 2nd hotel room shower did not drain properly. Terrible to discover this late at nite...Rather than go thru the process of packing up and walking across the street from west to east wing to the reservation desk, we lived with it, but very disappointing that a hotel does not address basic plumbing concerns. Additionally, there was a party going on in one of the rooms on another floor and we were faced with people who were not hotel guests asking us to badge them in the elevator to the party floor. Hope someone warned them about the plumbing!

Friendly employees and received great service even during busy Christmas holidays. Location is convenient to shopping areas and hotel offers several dining options as well as other restaurants in close proximity.
Close to downtown and can walk everywhere. Polite and professional staff. One of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at.
Nice rooms, hot showers, convenient for everything that was downtown. Our mini fridge didn't work, but was replaced immediately after we called, super responsiveness. Wish our windows had been cleaned recently, though.
The Galt House is definitely the place to stay in Louisville..Had a great time.
Overpriced and disappointing. Rooms lack basic amenities like handcream, paper/pen, complimentary water bottle, DND sign. Food is mediocre and restaurants & bars are understaffed. It's a historical property but it's decorated like a vanilla Marriott or Sheraton. And did I mention overpriced?
Beautifully updated historical hotel in the heart of downtown Louisville. Pretty waterfront views. Pool area needs some cleaning and/or updating but everything else (rooms, lobby, restaurants, etc) are stunning!
