Staybridge Suites - Louisville - East

Our stay in Louisville was made especially enjoyable because we were able to come "home" to a quiet, clean and spacious room each day. Wednesday night featured a "Social Time" which means Brats and beer... (even though I'm a cola guy). You will also enjoy a hot breakfast each morning as well!

I had originally booked a room for 1 night, a Saturday night, through Expedia. My fiance and I decided to drive down Fri instead. I called the hotel directly a week before our reservation and confirmed a room for Fri and sat night. Once we were on the road to Ky, I called to let the hotel know that we would be late checking in and was told that we didn't have a room for Fri night. On top of that they were fully booked. Fortunately we found an amazing b&b that saved the day. Staybridge Suites' room was very nice and had brand new beds. It would've been better if we could have stayed both nights!!

My children and I had a pleasant stay over the weekend at Staybridge Suites. This is my second time at this property and I love the home-like feel when I'm there. Katalina at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. She accommodated me with adjoining rooms since I was traveling with small children and that alone was a blessing. Our rooms where very clean, bedding was fresh and the new beds are very comfortable (my favorite part). The kids enjoyed the outdoor pool and that area was spotless as well. I have only one complaint... The breakfast area, I think this was my issues on the last stay as well. You really need to staff that area with two people. There is no way that one person can keep those items stocked. We went down around 8:45 am and nothing was really stocked. I made a waffle and the first one stuck to the machine. I asked for some of the non-stick spray and this is where I was a little taken aback. The lady working said, "she sprayed the waffle maker already." Well if that was the case, why did it stick? She offered to help me, but before doing so she told me to blow the crumbs off of the maker. I just didn't feel right doing that, what if I spit on the machine while blowing the crumbs off? That was a disgusting suggestion. She thought it was okay, because it was my waffle that was cooking. However, the waffle wasn't for me, it was for my 8 year old daughter. I would highly suggest that you have the non-stick spray out for guest. This also caused other issues. She was so busy making every guest waffles, no one stocked the food. Guest came in droves and left out because no food was there. I told her to let me finish making my waffle so she could help the others and she said, "they can wait." She was helpful, but she should've attended to the other guest. It made me feel so bad. After my waffle completed, she started making waffles for everyone else. She should've just got the non-stick spray and all of this could've been avoided. I am sure she made at least 6 waffles back to back. Overall, my experience was good and I would stay here again. Next time, I'll just opt for the Cracker Barrel that is just down the road for breakfast.

The hotel was nice in that it had a small kitchen in each room. The king beds are more like queens just for a heads up. Also the pull out is slightly sleazy but anywhere that is the same. They do allow dogs so this is not the hotels fault but one guest had a dog that was barking ALL NIGHT. This was annoying as my room was just trying to get sleep. Anyways if people control their dogs this is a great place to stay!

We stayed here recently for our visit to the state fair and zoo. We had six people in our two bedroom suite. The staff was courteous and helpful, the rooms and pool were clean, and it was quiet. Good place for a family with two small children to stay. The lady who serves breakfast deserves an extra mention, she was a hoot! We would stay here again.

Outside of the fact that their website still implies there are smoking rooms, this is a pretty good hotel. (If you made the change in February, as the desk staff told us, you had time to change your website.) Newly remodeled. They pack ample comfort and convenience into a reasonably compact space. Morning breakfast buffet is standard. Amazed that, for a hotel with pets allowed (and we've seen plenty), it's reasonably quiet. Not sure what this space would be like if we had small children, but for a couple of retirees, it's fine.

The suite was clean and comfortable and the kitchenette and desk area and additionally seating gave us privacy - something you don't get in a regular room. The breakfast buffet and coffee are good, basic - just like the hotel. The staff was wonderful. Good for an extended stay and at a great price. They have a nice pool and laundry facilities and this makes it easy for extended visits.

Stayed in April and July and both were very poor! In April the night I was there the hotel had a flood and there was no water in the hotel, the air conditioner was so loud. In July the room was extremely dirty and the air conditioning was still loud. Would never stay at this hotel again. The company that runs this hotel does a horrible job!

I had never stayed in a Staybridge Suites property prior to this review. The hotel is very convenient to I-64 and to the Shelbyville Road commercial area. The suite itself was roomy and nice, the bed comfy. It featured a full sized fridge, and kitchenette with microwave and a dishwasher. The A/C was chilly and working on this hot summer day, but the fan was noisy and ran all the time. It could not be turned off. I liked the sectional sofa in the room. The bathrooms were dated, and the bathroom vanity was low, coming just above my knee, so I had to stoop over to reach the faucet. The shower had a live bug in it --a silverfish I think--which was a turnoff. The clock in the room did not work, so I requested another. It too did not work, so I had to request another which worked. I used a plate and glass and left the dirty dishes in the kitchen sink. When I returned to the room and the cleaned up, bed made room, the dirty dishes were still in the sink. I guess I don't understand what housekeeping is responsible for: I expected dirty dishes to be replaced with clean ones. The breakfast bar was pretty good, though when I arrived at about 7:30AM, the hot items were not well-stocked. The condiment lazy susan was close to empty for most items: nearly empty ketchup, salt, pepper, etc. The coffee ran out and I had to point this out. I needed to leave very early and called the front desk and was assured I could get coffee when I left. As it turned out, when I left, no coffee was made. I'm giving this place a 3 star rating. It really was an OK property, but has some work to due to be more competitive with other comparable facilities. The staff was very pleasant and nice.

We recently had a very nice stay at this hotel. Summary: LOCATION/SERVICE: The location for our purposes was very good. Right off the highway and in the direction we were heading. There was dining in the area, but looked like all would likely require a car for easier access. The service was very good. Nice/pleasant/efficient check in. ROOM: Large, clean and everything you could need. Good TV selection and free internet worked well. BREAKFAST: Breakfast was the fairly standard hotel breakfast now. Good and serves the purpose well. Had a very nice stay here and would easily stay here again if in Louisville.
