This resort is hands down one of the nicest places I have ever been! It was so beautiful. The food was incredible and the staff was soo nice. Free wifi. Ate way too much sushi poolside. We did all inclusive and it was soo worth it! Room was beautiful and we all had an amazing time!!
We stayed at the Grand Solmar the week of Sept 2 to. 9, 2017 just after the tropical storm. The property was largely undamaged with the exception of sand in some of the pools. When we arrived they had assigned us to a room on the ground floor right next to a pool full of sand which had a pump running constantly, etc. The property was at very low occupancy so there was no need for this with the exception that we were an Interval International trade. We had to create a fuss and refuse to take the room. Three hours later we got into a more suitable room. This left a bad taste as it made no sense to assign a room right next to where all the cleanup work was being done. The rest of the stay was great - the staff there are exceptional.
This resort is certainly beautiful in an old world style with amazing zen gardens. Nestled on a hillside on the Pacific Ocean. The views are incredible everywhere you look. Located in a prime location of Cabo, walking distance to the marina and downtown with restaurants, clubs and the mall. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms in building E. The rooms are equipped with everything you need. Kitchen has a cooktop and full fridge (no dishwasher, oven or in-room laundry). Housekeeping are suppose to come twice a day, however they only showed up at 4:30 pm, I'm not sure what the point is of the second time (turn down service) when they can do both at once when showing up at 4:30 pm. All rooms have a beautiful view of pools and ocean. There are no ice machines, you have to call room service and the laundry is $3.50 US per load (wash and dry) which you have to purchase tokens at the reception to use. The pools, hot tubs and grotto are very nice, however there is a feeling that you are not really encouraged to use the pools. There is no music, no activities and you can not even bring your own water. You are encouraged to only use one towel per person and at one point they took the umbrella away, so we had to leave the pool area as we prefer to have shade so as to not burn. This beach is also always at red flag and never swimmable, you are also not allowed to walk the beach. There are a few restaurants all of which are very basic with resort type food. The prices are very high, we understand this is a luxury resort, but $12 for small chips and salsa and $14 for a watered down mixed drink is ridiculous. We felt very pressured to buy food or drinks, we could not even look at a menu without someone running coming to push us into buying. There is a small market the sells snacks, drinks and some very basic food items. The prices are double the price from the Oxxo that is a 5 minute walk away. Overall the resort is beautiful but I would not return. The atmosphere at this resort is uptight and not relaxed and not because of the guests but because of the silly little rules and the pushy staff.
I absolutely love this place. It is definitely a hidden jewel. It is one of the most beautiful places I have every stayed at. What I love most is that I live in Texas and can be in paradise in 3 hours. We became members about four years ago and not only have we come back every year since, we have upgraded 3 times. This year I decided to do a girls trip with my two nieces (September 2 - 9). I wanted everything to be perfect for them. And then, on our way from the airport to the resort, we see the wrath of Lidia. I was so disappointed because this was their first time in Cabo. But then from the moment we arrived at the resort and was greeted by Manning, Rene and Christian, I knew that everything was going to be okay. But the next 7 days were not just okay, they were AMAZING. Megan made sure that our every needs were met. We were encouraged to spend the first 2 days on the resort while the city was being cleaned. The customer service has always been excellent, but this time, it was beyond everything I had ever experienced. It was almost like the staff took it personally that the city was a mess and wanted to make sure we were well taken care of. Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa , thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this trip the best my nieces had every experienced. Thank you to the staff: Megan for making sure we were taken care of. David S. for taking an incredible amount of time with us explaining all of the benefits of being a member and also making sure we were taken care of. Jose and Efrain in the Sports Bar for providing us the best service I had ever experienced in a restaurant. And that's saying a lot. I travel for work and spend a lot of time in restaurants. These guys made us feel so special. And Manning, Rene and Christian. Again, the BEST Bellmen in the world. Thank you guys for making sure we had great transportation, the cool towels and just the little things that you did to accommodate us. Manning who is always so gracious, thank you for trying to identify our Driver that I forgot to tip. While we travel regularly, Grand Solmar Land's End Resort and Spa is a place we will continue to visit year after year. OMG, I'm looking forward to the Grand Opening of Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas. Love this FAMILY!!!! Stephanie Couser
I spent 3 nights (9-6 to 9-9) at the Grand Solmar celebrating my friend's birthday. It was an incredible experience! The staff took care of our every need. JLU took exceptional care of our group. The infinity pools are the most beautiful I have ever seen. We stayed in the 2 bedroom Presidential Suite and it was incredible. I would definitely splurge on that again in the future. I also recommend a massage in the spa huts on the beach. There is nothing like a massage while listening to the ocean. All in all, this was one of the best resorts I have ever visited and I can't wait to visit again. Thank you Grand Solmar!
I booked a 2BR in March this year. In May AND a few days ago I've sent an Email to the reservation department. Surprisingly they never responded. I read so many positive reviews about the Grand Solmar, but sadly it seems like, because I already booked, my request stays ignored. Still, I can't wait to get there in October though. Hoping that someone will get a hold of me.
Flew out from Orlando to visit my dear friend for a big birthday reunion on Sept. 2nd. We arrived the first day the roads had reopened after the hurricane. I was amazed to see how the community all came together and cleaned up the area so quickly. We were headed to the Grand Solmar Land's End Resort &Spa. From the moment we arrived, I knew this place was something special!!! Not only was the service top notch, the accommodations and grounds were out of this world! I've stayed at a lot of high end resorts but this one ranks TOP on my list! Gorgeous!!!!! Breathtaking view!!! Service was beyond expectation. 5 infinity pools overlooking the ocean. This resort is nestled right past the arch and totally protected. A true hidden jewel, yet close enough to the action. The Activities Director, Jose Luis and Allen made sure we were never without! The whole staff was very accommodating! Once I learned about Irma heading towards Florida, I knew I needed to cut my trip shorter than expected. The concierge at the front lobby was very patient with me as I held on the line with Delta for over an hour trying to change my flight to leave out that morning in preparation for Irma. From start to finish! Outstanding!!! I would go back to this resort over and over!!! Thank you for making our stay so special!!! I had no idea I'd be going from a 5 star resort to a home with zero power. Feeling truly blessed to have had this wonderful experience. Terri Guiang
Recently spent 4 nights here (9/7-9/11). This is a very nice facility. It was built in 2011, so all of the facilities are still in good shape. There were staff members everywhere - they might have outnumbered the guests! We ate at several of the restaurants and were happy with the food. The pools were excellent, as were the spa, beauty salon and the gym. This hotel is located on the Pacific coast, which means that you can't swim in the ocean (deadly currents!) and there isn't much beach there to walk on. I'd definitely recommend this place. The room was very quiet, but I think that this is more because of very low occupancy when we were there. There wasn't much soundproofing between the rooms and the hallways - we could hear every word from one group as they walked by. If the hotel were busy, I suspect that it would be pretty noisy in the rooms. My only real gripe is that it is a timeshare and they try to get you into a timeshare sales pitch by offering a discount on food. We just didn't go to the sales pitch, but I hate timeshares with a passion. That alone isn't a reason to not visit, but be aware of it.
What an incredible experience at the Grand Solmar Lands End in Cabo! Two of us were celebrating our 50th birthdays. The customer service was up and beyond- a special thanks to activities director Jose Luis (aka JLU). He was amazing and added that special something to our trip. Everyday he would check on us with his energetic smile and anything you needed he was on it. He came to the pool with a chocolate cake for my bday and even brought the chef! So special! Day one he knew all our names. June would come by with afternoon tasters. She was a so sweet. It was those added personal touches that made staying at Grand Solmar so special. Couldn't say enough great things about this place and the staff. The grounds were beyond beautiful. Seriously the best place I ever ever vacationed! Thanks JLU for making our trip so special!
We enjoyed bringing our in-laws this trip to enjoy Grand Solmar as an extended family. All pools were great and we enjoyed eating our first and last meals at the tables in the Las Olas pool. We also tried Sports Bar this time and the food is great - skirt steak tacos delicious!!! Great family trip - we love Grand Solmar and will return. No problems...first class service from all staff.
