Location was great ! Efficient. I enjoyed my stay here. There was hair on the pillow, the staff quickly came and changed the pillow case.

The hotel is old. Really old. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean.

Overpriced. For the conditions of the place. Terrible experience.

Convenient hotel with all necessary amenities. Staff was helpful.

If your looking for an upscale state of the art hotel experience this isn't it. If your looking for a throw back, artistic, or nostalgic experience this hotel is for you. The building is over 100 years old and the rooms haven't been updated for 30 or more. That said they appear to be well maintained and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. And the view from our room was fantastic.

It was walking distance to staples center, whole foods, and cvs. Especially i-hop at 3:00a.m. And cool shops and movie theatre. The area felt safe day and night. For safety we were buzzed in at the main door after 6pm. The staff were great with directions and ideas for new shops to go to. Provided a map. We stayed two nights for a concert. The hall was nice and quiet at night. Love the rustic vintage of the building.

Nice welcome. We arrived an hour before check in, and they had a room ready for us. The lady at the front desk was very nice and mapped out a few locations for us to see. We were a little disappointed that there was no hairdryer. The room was clean, but obviously old. We were able to leave our bags at the desk for some time after checkout which was helpful.

Nice staff but immediate smell when you walk into lobby and bedroom. Found bed bugs in bed and immediately left. Staff was understanding and initiated refund

We have stayed at the Stilwell before and love its location for our downtown shopping needs. We feel it has more positive attributes than negative ones. It’s a older building and rooms are older. Parking is off site , but just across the street. There Isabel CVS just down the street for anything you need. Can’t beat the price.

I needed a place for a one-night stay near the LA Convention Center. It was relatively inexpensive and OK for that purpose. The staff are a rag-tag group of nice young folks who do not know much about the area. There is no parking and nearby commercial lots cost $15 to $20 per day. I would recommend something else for a longer stay.

Based on the reviews I read about this place, I was expecting it to be a disaster but when you have a budget- beggars can’t be choosers especially in this pricey part of town. When I arrived, reception wasn’t the luxury you would expect from a 5* but it was decent. I stayed on the 10th floor and I held my breath as I entered the room but I was actually really pleasantly surprised with what I had. The room was exceptionally clean and there was a TV, microwave, fridge, walk in wardrobe and a bathroom. The bed was made very neatly and it was a nice room. The decor wasn’t the best but if you’re only there for 1-2 nights- all you need is a bed, Bathroom and working AC and I had all that. I would stay here again in a heartbeat with the location being what it was. You get what you pay for here and it’s actually not too bad- but be realistic if you’re wanting the luxury hotel experience- this isn’t it.

The door when you put in card to open was like something out dated very old you really had to do several times to work and the hotel needs to be upgraded everything is old

For the price in "expensive" LA the hotel was just a place to get a good nice rest and take a shower each day and get ready for the next day at the conference that I attended in the LA conference center about 20 minutes walking distance. The room had an odor... that I attributed to the building's age and poor/old ventilation system. The A/C kept the room comfortable at night. The odor problem was taken care of by buying a can of my favorite air freshener in a nearby store. The air freshener was used daily... once when I arrived back in the afternoon and again before I left each morning. The sheets were clean...bed made-up and I received clean towels everyday from room svc staff. This was definitely a no frill hotel and it showed. No complaints from me, as all that I wanted was a less expensive (able to afford) and clean hotel to spend the night in and get some sleep. The cable TV and WiFi was good ... received great reception and fast down-load speeds. So many new buildings were under construction in the surrounding/immediate area and I believe that this hotel days are numbered and along with it will go the affordable price tag, for a clean spot to spend a night or two-three or even five. Downtown LA is such an expensive place to find a good inexpensive hotel, but that's life. Nice place to visit (for official business), but too expensive for my pocket book. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feed-back on my stay at the Stillwell Hotel.

This hotel has a lot of character. It's old, it's not slick, it's not perfect an it's not pretentious. There's no frills. But my room and common areas were clean and quiet and felt safe. Staff were helpful. Hanks, the bar downs tairs, is great, a real classic bar with great music and fun staff. The real highlight is how central this location is. So many good restaurants and cafés, groceries, a pharmacy, all within a block or two. So if you're looking to be pampered, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for what The W, or Ace hotels are trying to be, this hotel is pretty good.

This was one of the worst hotels that I've been to. The staff was rude and the room was old and smelly.

Just an OK place. Was fine for what I needed but wouldn't stay for a vacation.

Visit to son and girlfriend, who are downtown denizens

Very bad experience. The place is very old needs updating and many areas are filthy and not very attractive in the whole place as the odor of currie. i will never go back there

I stayed two days , After I left my room next day and came back and my room and bathroom was not cleaned and all was in not clean condition I called front desk asked why did they not clean my Room and replied he did not know anything about it and will get cleaned next day and I told him next morning I wS checking out .I feel you stay in hotel you paying price should get proper service it's not apartment or Airbnb style hotel . I think the hotel shall refund me for my stay as the standard of service was very poor and not fulfilled like it should really be

Nice staff, relatively clean for older property, good location, low price. Moldy shower, old unclean bedspread.
