We stayed here one night before going to Universal Studios the next day. It is a refurbished old motel and it is cute. Our room was fine and we were able to walk to the tram stop for Universal on the evening we arrived so we could go to City Walk for dinner. The breakfast the next morning was good - quite adequate to start the day. The room was clean.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Several restaurants within walking distance. Super short drive after a fantastic day at Universal. Great new rooms with everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our stay.

even when i arrived close to 2 am they received us very kind. The hotel is very clean, the breakfast enough for start the day and the beds are very comfortable. It has everything for rest after a long day in the city. Easy access to many interesting attractions and of course near to universal studios.I will definitely be back.

Adorable, comfortable boutique hotel. Felt like old Hollywood with its bungalows and flowers. Relaxing and low tech after overstimulating hi tech and crowd of Universal. Staff is kind, accommodating and knowledgable. Breakfast feels European and the hard-working team keeps it all flowing. We had a microwave and fridge in our room for snacks too.

2/16/19 after a horrible experience the night before at another hotel and searching all day and night online for a last minute stay, it stated a room was available. I arrived and quickly stated no vacancy. i spoke with a very nice gentleman I believe his named was Robert and he doubled check and there was one room left #107! i booked asap and he offered a bottle of water while i waited. He also provided helpful tourist info the following day. first thing i had noticed was it was very welcoming, clean, up to date, smelt good, quiet area, individual parking and he was very professional! once i got in the room, it was love at first sight. super clean, updated and homey. we got our own parking and its free. i search every nook and cranny for any crumbs, bugs, stains, dust, dirt etc., and nothing! bed was comfy, pillows and sheets/comforter where high quality and comfy as well. free continental breakfast (bagels, scramble eggs, toast, fruit salad, bananas, cereals, oj, milk and coffee. you can sit in the area, enjoy your breakfast and watch tv, very intimate. I didnt hear not one peep from any neighbors, their cars or local traffic. the maids came in after we left and did a great job replacing towels, restocking essentials and making the bed. heater and ac worked great and the room was very lite. i wished i had taken more photos without my stuff everywhere especially of the shower, it was very nice but we were too excited and tired. we had the best nights sleep and first thing that morning we booked for 2 more days! after we left we were sad to go as robert was really nice and accommodating it was a great stay with no worries. you wont be disappointed!! great location near everything!

Perfect location whilst staying in L.A Staff super friendly especially the Asian male (sorry I can't remember your name!). Gave us lots of great advice on how to get around and the best places to park in busy areas. Gave us some free snacks when we left which was a lovely touch! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Two nice days and nights in this cute and confortable Hotel. Rooms are new and very modern with all the equipments you need. Bed are very confortable too ! Breakfast is perfect and complete. You can walk to the Universal Studios, it takes 10 minutes. The owner of the Hotel and the personal are very nice and always here for you. I recommend to stay there !

We loved this little motel with its courtyard of cars. In all honestly, I was somewhat concerned that the motel was not all it was meant to be based on the reviews. I mean, can a little motel be that good? It was ... and better. Robert, the manager of the El Royale, was genuine and caring. The room was clean and parking right in front of the door ... just perfect. Breakfast was simple and all that we needed or wanted. Some bread, a few cereal choices, scrambled eggs, and fresh fruit. Ah, and coffee which was freshly brewed. The walk to Universal was easy and we stopped at the Ralph's grocery store on the way home to grab some fresh sushi and veggies one night. The area is safe and there are lots of real sushi restaurants within walking distance as well as a few other cuisines to choose from. I can absolutely recommend the El Royale for a family ... we loved it.

My husband and I stayed at the El Royale for one night (room 113). We had spent the day at the Huntington Library and Gardens and checked in around 6 p.m. Although some rooms have parking garages, ours did not. However, Braxton at the front desk walked us outside to show us where we could park our car on the hotel property. He also gave us several restaurant recommendations that were walking distance (5 mins or less) from the hotel. We dropped our luggage and relaxed in the room for a bit before going to dinner. The room was tucked away in the back, which at first seems a little odd, but it is well-lit and secure. The room itself was appropriately sized for 2 people. Although the walls had no decor and the room could use some TLC, it was very clean, quiet and comfortable. We ate at Lal Mirch (Indian) and then had a beer at Stout Burgers. Both were recommended by Braxton and both were very good. The next morning we had breakfast (included in the price of the room) in the reception area. Scrambled eggs, fruit, coffee, juice, toast, bagels, and cereal. It was not extravagant, but it was good. We walked from the hotel to the tram stop for Universal Studios. It’s about a 12 minute walk. Very convenient. The hotel allowed us to leave our car in their parking lot while we spent the day at Universal, which we appreciated since most of Ventura Boulevard is metered parking. After we returned from Universal around 10 p.m., the manager gave us a snack for our drive back to San Diego. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay and would stay at the El Royale again. It’s conveniently located if you’re going to Universal Studios, there are several eateries very close to the hotel, the staff were very nice and helpful, and the property is cute and clean, and we felt safe walking around the area.

Perfect location nicely placed in NoHo that offers everything necessary. May look like an ordinary Motel, But isn‘t. Good value for money. Nice staff. Clean rooms. Great beds. Parking easy done. Will return.
