Very friendly proprietors. Lovely room. Nice shampoo/conditioners to use. Convenient to attractions in the area.
Rooms were dusty and filled with nick nacks. We actually didn't feel very welcomed, got the feeling we were in the way for the people who run the B&B. Hot tub in garden was closed and the garden not very well kept. And the breakfast nothing to talk about. All in all a disappointing experience. You can get so much more for your bucks in LA, keep searching.
Staying at the Beachrunner's Inn was an absolute dream! The staff was extremely friendly. The historic building was beautiful and cozy. The breakfast every morning was healthy and delicious, better than any continental breakfast at a hotel. It was much more personal than a hotel, I felt like I was staying in a friend's home. The rooms are perfect for couples looking for a weekend getaway!
Love Arts & Crafts architecture, so this place was wonderful. Close to a great coffee house too.
This cute little place is just a few blocks from the beachfront and accessible by foot to shopping and restaurants. You can walk along the beachfront to the pier and over to the Queen Mary if you're ambitious. The room itself, although quite tiny and a bit cramped for two (we stayed in the Catalina), was overall comfortable, quite clean, and well appointed with bathrobes and a nice array of toiletries and other amenities. They have plenty of books and movies in the sitting room that you can borrow during your stay. The breakfast was great - a different breakfast entree was served each morning (eggs benedict, a quiche, sausage and eggs) and if you didn't like the entree, there was plenty of yogurt, fruit, and cereal to choose from instead, with plenty of fresh coffee and juices. The staff was very friendly and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. I would recommend this B&B, and we will definitely look them up next time we are staying in the area.
