Holiday Inn Brentford Lock4.0 out of 5.0

We stayed at the HI Brentford Lock for one night on 23rd September. As usual with the Holiday Inn the hotel was very clean, staff attentive and friendly and the room was lovely with a view over the lock. Very handy for London city centre without the chaos.
Stayed for one night. It is a decent enough but definitely poor in some areas compared to others in the same group. Room 421 - stay in this room and you will hear a constant droning low buzzing noise (have read back to see previous reviewers have had the same experience), the aircon was blowing hot and very early morning there was a lorry outside emptying big bins (one by one, each with its own scraping and dragging noise). Not much of a view - just what seems to be a breakers yard opposite. I think the biggest issue for us was that during breakfast a waitress came to our table and said we had only booked for two people and that my daughter needed to pay £12.95 for her breakfast (pain-au-chocolate and a few berries). We knew this wasn't correct and explained that we had booked for three. Were then aware of the breakfast manager and waitress watching and hovering to speak to us before we left the dining room. We queried it after breakfast and it appeared to be a lack of communication between booking.com and holiday inn so the charge was removed. We were left with the feeling it could have been handled differently especially as we had told them about the noise problems with the room and the associated lack of sleep. The plus sides are the ability to park (although spaces are limited), that reception were able to book a taxi for us and that there is a decent choice for breakfast (hard eggs though!)
The bed & pillow is soft and comfortable. The room is big, toilet with bathtub is clean. Wifi service is good, the breakfast is nice too. The back of the hotel have a lake , depends your room facing where. the amenities inside the room is good enough.
Stayed here re a trade show at Syon Park. Good sized comfortable executive room looking onto the lock. Great team who provide excellent service. In room food good and breakfast delivered on a lazy Sunday morning unfortunately it was not as hot as it could have been but the effort in delivering a great start to the day was much appreciated and the food was good. Really impressed.
I've stayed here on three occassions and I've always been very happy with everything. The rooms are nice and fresh, the breakfast buffé is nice and the location is good. The hotel is close to Heathrow and there are several local authentic pubs, bars and restaurants within walking distance. The gym is not great and you need to ask specifically for access to it in the reception. If the weather is good there is a nice walkway along the canal that is perfect for a morning jog.
Great location, lovely reception staff, adequate room but the worst room service food ever experienced. I review a lot of places and really research accommodation prior to booking. This place has so much potential with a great location , and room was fine but ... this very weary couple ordered room service and it was terrible !!
Staying her three nights , Just done our first . When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and helpful . The hotel is very clean everywhere , especially the rooms . The rooms are very nice and have been kept up to a good deco standard , but have fantastic bathrooms which look quite new .The bar and open lobby are fantastic and very nice to spend time in, great patio area on the side of the canal. Breakfast was very good ,nice selection of food .The drinks and food prices are very good value for London. We also got a very good rate to stay here for the very good standard of the hotel. Will say here again. .
Stayed here multiple times. It's a bit of a walk from the underground, but it's close to GSK house. Decent food, they know how to properly grill steak. Very friendly and helpfull staff, great bed/pillows. Decent price for London.
Clean, tidy and efficient. Rooms large and pretty well specked but noisy cold air fan.... Beds good, internet speed passable and even a mini fridge! Food: Breakfast, good on the whole, good choice of foods and not too bad quality. Scores a 4 as I don't think it's worth £140 for B&B tbh.
Stayed for one night which wasn't long enough, can't recommend it enough, great location as you can have a lovely walk along the canal , lovely staff on reception, bar and restaurant and great food, will definitely be back
