Well I would like to say we have just spent a weekend here for a dance competition and the chalet was clean, staff were polite and the entertainment for the kids was very good, 100% better all round than pontins Prestatyn. The pool was great too, reception clean and staff helpful, could do with a brush and a mop and bucket in chalet but that's my only negative comment!! so well done pontins southport no complaint going to head office 👏👏

If I could give his place a zero I would the pool was closed due to insects of some sort being found or so we were told (it did re open after a couple of hours but no one wanted to risk it ) the rooms are basic and that’s putting it mildly. The food is horrendous we ended up ordering a takeaway from down the road to deliver to us there... just a massive never again!

Booked for 5 days and wasnt expecting much to be honest just a bit of a family break. When we arrived it was like going back to 1936 and I think this was the last time the place had a lick of paint. The rooms were absolutely Vile you couldn't take your shoes off the place was discussing. Seriously Britannia/Pontins you should be ashamed of yourselves. We slummed it for one night and then checked out and went somewhere clean in Liverpool the day after. Absolutely disgusting!!

We booked a Club Chalet for the Weekend, We went there this last weekend, the Club Chalet was very dirty, floors not clean, sink dirty and had bits left in it, the worst thing was the cooker, it was not only dirty but very Rusty, that's right Rusty front panels, switches and Tops, we were so disgusted that we would not even make a cup of tea in that kitchen, these are supposedly the best class of Chalets on Site. Evening entertainment was good though.

Arrived on monday (day b4 Halloween)...apartment was spotless, full size bath and shower, flat screen tv in living room, new fridge, cooker was spotless (as where the kettle, toaster and microwave)6 plates, cups, glasses, cutlery and a selection of knives and utensils (took our own knife though). Heaters in all the rooms worked (bedding was thin so glad heaters did the job!)and compared to the last lot of free bedding covers these 1s were a lot more like covers u would buy urself and not shiny curtains from the 70s! Was on upper floor and in our "square" was a childrens play area (which kept them busy). Moving on to the outdoor activities....everything was open at some point (we stayed club so got half price activity between 10 and 12). Swimming pool wasnt overly busy (i didnt go in but no complaints from partner or kids). The snack shack was ok (over priced abit and twice we went for ice cream and or hot chocolate and twice they didnt have either) and the chicken place by the shop was nice and value for money. The on site shop closes early (round 8pm most nights)and is quite expensive. The arcade has seen better days as alot of the games where off the 1st few days we where there but where being fixed throughout the week! Lunars bar was mainly for kids during the day and funfactory had the bingo in (followed straight after by kids stuff so was mad busy but still found tables to sit at). The entertainment was fantastic and couldnt fault it at all. I think alot of the bad reviews come from people who book in for newspaper offers (£10 per person ect)as the cheaper apartments seem to be closer to complex (therefore everyone walks passed)and the tvs where big old ones! If im honest some of the guests were as rough as and couldnt care less what their kids where or what they where doing but they seemed to be few and far between! My only dilemma now is do i cancel the cavern holiday booked for easter in wales and book pontins southport instead! Answers on a postcard

Took my daughter and her two children, booked a cot for baby before going at check in was told to go to reception to pay deposit for it, which I did then was promptly passed the travel cot over the counter which we had to carry to the chalet. I was expecting a welcome pack in the envelope with the key but no they stopped doing the packs and you have to find the information on the walls around the venue. The chalet was dirty, food under the table, glitter everywhere and sticky labels on bathroom wall. The bathroom had no lock and the bath was very tatty. My daughter brought a cheeseburger from the shack place and the bun was was covered in mould on the bottom. All the tables in the hall were dirty and rocked. My 5 year old grandson had a great time but said to his mother next time can we go back to the caravan park. So next time it’s back to haven we go.

After reading the reviews I was really worried. I even packed cleaning stuff but the apartment overall were ok. The windows could do with a clean This makes the place feel dirty but overall the apartment were ok for the price, had worse, anyway. Bluecoats are amazing and the shows are fab they defo make the holiday. Unfortunately their jobs are far to stretched, from entertainers, shop assistant to photographer they do far to much and take time off spending time with visitors like what job original was for One major problem is the lack of heating. Wrap up warm if your going soon as they seem to be saving money on heating. It's far to cold in the venues some of the staff even had scarves and gloves on. Second major problem is the lack of things open, hardly nothing open especially on check in days. For people who are already here, nothing was open. Spent the day in a cold venue watch a movie (joke on me as I could have stayed at home and done this, yet I actually paid for it) kids enjoyed it though as they spent time with Bluecoats. Take food with you if your going for more than a couple of days ,as the food is good but it's all greasy and fried. Overall, the whole place needs money pumping into it, it could be great family place but tables are broke, carpets are wore and the whole place is tired looking!!!!

Well were just home had a fab few days. Chalet was clean, staff are very friendly, and the blue coats are amazing an holiday is what you make it. But to be completely honest it's being left to go to rac and ruin and the hole place seems to have an anything goes nobody gives a **** attituded. My little boy loved every minute and I enjoyed the night time entertainment. But what are Britannia playing at!! Seriously are they wanted to close pontins down? As it seems that way to me! Shame really because it could be so good

Attended pontins southport this weekend and have never seen such disgusting accommodation!! the chalet was filthy, no bedding provided even though we paid extra for club!!!! several of us went to reception to complain but told nothing they could do unless we paid £50 per chalet extra for bedding which was already included in the price for club! one guest with us was ushered into a room and confronted with 3 managers all of who'm point blank refused to help!!!! Then the worst part was the male entertainer (blue Coat) who was in the smaller function room on saturday night! how rude and disrespectful! he was being vile towards young children and when confronted by a gentleman who told him his attitude was disgusting he had the cheek to call security on him!!!! ( security actually agreed with the man and nothing was done but they said they would report him to his boss! i think the attitude of management is terrible! SHAME ON YOU PONTINS!!

After spending the weekend at Pontins Southport I thought I'd right a review of the place. I first went to pontins 25 plus years ago and I was a bit rough around the edges then but now there is definitely more for the kids to do than they was back then. Play area was clean and tidy play equipment was in good Condition was a bit disappointed that some of the machines in the amusements either did not work or did not work properly but in saying that the blue coats soon gave u ur money back if u told them the machine was not working properly. The chalet we was in was clean and tidy even though the cooker had seen better days. Our beds were comfy even though I could not sleep on the bed settee which was very uncomfy to sit on. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and the entertainment venue was excellent great pyrotechnics which for me made the shows and discos better. I would defiantly go back if u want 5* luxury then this place is not for u but if u want simple accommodation with charm then I'd recommend Pontins Southport 😀 thanks for a great weekend
