Arrived went straight to chalet, it was disgracefully grubby with a filthy floor. The rooms were reached via concrete steps. which I would have thought were dangerous. Small t.v., no beds made ((even though that had been paid for), and no bed linen. I seriously considered not staying. Even the shaver socket in the bathroom was put in upside down! None of the food ralail places were open (but it was just out of season). The one credit was the Blue coats who really tried, and were really good!
On walking in the charlet, smelt of smoke, previous persons shocks were found under the beds and food left in the kitchen area, brought my 2 year old for a Long weekend had to clean all floors and wipe down all doors due to them being so dirty, didn't. Want my child to catch any un wanted bugs, doors wiped down easy so wouldn't. Of been a problem for the staff, booked linen never again, it just fell apart and kept stredding, disappointed in th play area, sessions were 15-20 minutes then kicked out then opened again 15 minutes later what's that all about, if you know 2 year olds that's not enough time leaving us outside the door waiting every 15minutes my 2 year old was heart broken knocking on the door ,bless. On the up staff were friendly apart from the odd one,
Basically I booked without reading the reviews and once I did I was horrified and nearly cancelled. It wasn't as bad for me and my friend as the reviews would have it known but I can totally see where they are coming from! It is low budget, you get what you pay for and everything is extra so you can end up paying quite a lot if you let yourself. However luckily our room was fairly clean which is the least you should expect despite the low price, especially when young children are staying. The floor was filthy so that is correct, and we had mould on our curtains which is rank. Overall though the place was ok, no palace but livable. You can't spend much time in the apartment it's just not comfortable, the beds are hard and we didn't have a proper sofa, rather two beds basically without any sort of cover which was pretty unsanitary. But we made the most of it. The clientele is pretty rough and ready but generally everyone was friendly, although lots of people let an 8 month obviously pregnant woman hold the door open for them whilst they walked through with their pints. My kids loved it so that's something but on the final day it was a shame most of the activities were closed. The restaurants/kebab and pizza place were closed the whole time I was there and the only thing really open was the food van which is very basic. You get kids running riot without any parental guidance whilst the parents are getting pissed and quite a few of these families so if you can turn a blind eye. Overall if you want a cheap break and don't want to pay loads up front then it's not bad but rooms sound totally hit and miss. Oh yes and reception gave us the wrong key and didn't even apologise and it was a right faff to get it changed, generally they were pretty rude overall and closed their desk really early. The food in the queen vic pub wasn't the best and staff were pretty miserable
Dirty filthy place wouldn't leave a stray dog there Was even a notice up in reception saying "no complaining " Unreal !! Left after a day couldn't bare anymore Food diabolical the tea was nats pi** Waste of money DO NOT GO
We just come back off a 4 day break and when we checked in we checked in before 2pm which was good the chalet was clean and tidy only downfall we didn't have a double quilt we asked twice then there got us one the main complex entertainment was good the bluecoats were fantastic made our holiday will return again
Well just had a 4day break at pontins southport and yes the site does need a bit of TLC and we stayed in club apartments and they do need a little TLC but they are clean and warm do take your own duvet as they do tell you there's are thin but we couldn't of asked for a better time there were 3 blue coats who made our holiday they were JARED MATTY and CONNER they were fantastic brilliant entertainment and a fantastic takeaway outside of club give the park a break and give it chance can't wait to go back again
we booked and paid for 6 people including 2 children aged 1 + 2 the room they had was filthy my son had to clean the floor with a full pack of wet wipes before he could let the kids play, in the bathroom the towel rail was missing but the screws and bits of metal were sticking out of the wall, the curtains were hanging off, all the plates cups and cutlery had to be washed before using, where the bath should have been sealed it was broken and sharp, this was all reported on the first day and again on the second day and the third day finally on the fourth day after reporting it again they sent someone who removed the screws from the wall nothing else. In our room next door we dare not use the heating as the wall heaters were so old the tv was from the early 90s and on an evening we had 2 channels no lock on the bathroom we also had to clean the floor so our grandchildren could come in, the bin was smashed we had rotten food in 2 of the pans all plates and cutlery cups and glasses grill and cooker had to be cleaned. we purchased bedding from pontins this is supposed to be new it was all torn had broken zips on the quilt covers the sheets were more like a sarong not a sheet,we complained it was written down and we were given a free meal and I was asked if I would sign to say my issues had been resolved I refused, we would never visit a pontins again the whole resort is dilapidated and dirty 40% of the arcade machines were broken the seats in the bars were filthy all in all a complete nightmare
Just back from a great 4 day break. Weather not too good but didn't spoil our holiday. Our chalet was very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. Staff were very friendly and the entertainment was, as always, spot on. Looking forward to going again soon.
Grim does not begin to describe this "resort" if anywhere was to be nominated for the next RAF training area for heavy bombing, this is the place. Booked in on a coach trip for 4 nights, the coach driver would not stay in the accommodation even for one night, sadly, we had to endure. When asked what there was for the adults during the day the Manager or "Warden"as we called her,due to her ill mannered approach to us, said it was a children's site, why then are they accepting coachloads of elderly people? Money and nothing else matters to Pontins, OK, but only just if you have kids, the amusements, in poor state, have to be paid for by purchasing tokens, works out expensive for families, if you have no transport its 10 to 15 minutes to bus stop or rail station. We got more help and better service from the catering staff in the half board dining room than any other member of staff. To those I hate with a passion, book now. To anyone else, avoid like the plague, the road out of there is to be savoured.
So currently sat here now 1.30am there's music still blaring, children and adults shouting and people arguing. Also the floor shaking every time someone RUNS past the door and the whole room shaking a when the neighbours slams their door! We was warned there was a event on this weekend however this is an absolute joke!yes you imagine a bit of noise till possibly 12 but 1.30am and still no sign of a reprieve it's sounds like a mass brawl outside. Can't contact anyone on sight so ended up contacting another pontins down south and they have said they are going to contact the security here. Roll on some sunlight so I can get out of this hell hole and I certainly will never come again
