Came here for a mates wedding last winter and thought I would finally write a review. The staff were really friendly, polite and accommodating, letting us stay in the bar upstairs until the small hours. The downstairs room was perfect for the size of the reception and the spaces off the side were awesome for putting the presents etc Might drop in for a pint next time I am at Sefton Park
I have sadly read one of the negative reports and I only chose to write as the hotel was great!! I was recommended to go several years ago and since have organised three family parties here. 50th Birthday, 50th wedding anniversary & another 50th. At all we had great food, good beer & wine for the ladies and great staff. I will be returning and I'm confident I will be looked after again. Don't believe everything you read. A great location and lovely people.
Booked the Sefton Park Hotel for our Wedding Reception. Location is ideal - facing Sefton Park itself. Nadia helped us organise everything and did a superb job decorating the room and marquee for us. Everybody really enjoyed themselves. All staff are very friendly and welcoming and did their utmost to ensure that all guests has an enjoyable time. My wife and I stayed there as part of the package as did a few of my wife's family members. The rooms are lovely and well kept. Would recommend to all I know.
I had a fantastic party at Sefton Park hotel thanks to the wonderful help of Nadia in helping me organise it and to Conor and the great team for setting up the room beautifully and providing such great food. The DJ was brilliant and kept everybody on the dance floor all night along with our live band. Thanks to all the staff for a memorable night
Checked in earlier this month for a reasonable length of a stay..enjoyed every minute of it! To Conor and his team - thank you for looking after me. I can honestly say, nothing was too much trouble. Now the room I had was 301 and it was perfect, clean and spacious! Perhaps the TV needed to be a little bit larger, but hey it was adequate. Food was great - no complaints! Staff - fantastic! If you ask for something, you can be sure the staff will do what they can to help. Remember folks, this is a 3 star hotel - this is important; don't over expect and I can guarantee the hotel won't under deliver! Thanks again for your hospitality, enjoyed it! My mum got married at sefton park hotel on the 21/07/17. We had an event organiser working with mum to plan her big day called Nardia. Nardia was very understanding with mum's requests and knew exactly the style she wanted. On the day the room was decorated perfectly to mum's taste. The staff at the Hotel where wonderful, from bar staff, to kitchen staff, to cleaners and to receptionist. They were all very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful (sit down meal and the buffet). We can not thank the staff enough for making my mum and step dad's big day that extra bit special! Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel.
I booked myself and a colleague into his Hotel this morning and they informed me of the room they had available and took a deposit. When we arrived at 6.:30pm to check in, the girl on the reception looked puzzled and sadly informed us she couldn't find our booking and that the Hotel was fully booked ! we insisted that we had a booking and explained our telephone conversation in detail to prove it, after half an hour of trying to find a solution we were told that the were sorry and that we would have to find some where else and they wound return our deposit ! After been at work from 6.30 am and been a 2/3 hour drive from home the options were quite limited, I asked if the Hotel were happy to foot the bill of the additional charges for us to stay in another Hotel , as the prices are quite Inflated due to the Open been on in the area, the answer was NO ...! I was Informed that the owner had suggested that the receptionist who took the booking that day was responsible not them, and they would have to pay the additional fees , this person was not available for comment and neither was the owner or any management ! to make matters worse they simply offered us our deposit back and said nothing more could be done, after speaking to other residents, they also had issues with rates been raised from the original quotes although they had booked for several nights at a set rate,it seems this place is not reliable and I certainly would say to anybody thinking about booking it to stay clear and look elsewhere, the reception did her best and I can only thank her, but the Hotel in general is a bloody joke and should be avoided like the plague.
The room I stayed in looked like it was furnished by the rejects of a council estate refurbishment. The bed was possibly the cheapest thing in the room - probably taken directly from a tip. If you leant on it, or moved around in bed it would roll around on the floor like it was on ice! I am honestly not a snob when it comes to living rough - I am only bothered when I pay £95 for B&B and I get the hospitality of a lower-end hotel in the ghetto! The customer service was just as bad! I am still waiting on a VAT receipt after many attempts to obtain it. Even now, I am being told "we will send it now" and still nothing after nearly 2 weeks of bothering them for it. The one good thing was a lovely receptionist on the Sunday morning who couldn't have done enough for me. However, her handwork was completely overshadowed by everything mentioned above. Me, anyone I know, or anyone from my company will never stay in this abomination of a hotel ever again!!
Booked a night at this hotel as it was near a respite home that we had to visit a family member. The hotel is an old Victorian building once the family home of Stuart Sutcliffe better known as the fifth Beatle. The setting for this hotel is across the road from Sefton Park Lake a lovely place to walk about, the hotel is showing signs of old age and could do with a face lift but the welcome from the staff overcame this. We arrived at about six pm and booked a meal in the restaurant the food was great, we stayed in the bar for a night cap talking to some of the locals who had been involved in a christening earlier. Our room was on the third floor quite a climb for us oldies as there is no lift, but clean and quite large. there was a large bathroom with a shower, tea and coffee making facilities, tv and a king size bed a good value for the money we paid, with a full cooked breakfast in the morning. An excellent visit all round.
We recently had our wedding at The Sefton Park Hotel. Wow where do I start? The staff here were amazing from the minute we booked 18 months before the big day, nothing was too much trouble! Nadia who dealt with us for majority of the organising was fantastic, always at the end of the phone whenever I was worried about something. I stayed the night before the wedding and Nadia set all my dresses out in my room for me and my bridesmaids which was a lovely surprise when I arrived. The day ran perfectly, no stone was left unturned when it came to the detail and precision put in to our day, the room was laid just as we had wanted and Nadia again was on hand throughout the day, when the nerves kicked in. I really can not thank the staff enough for all their hard work on our special day! I would of not changed a single thing and would highly recommend the Sefton Park Hotel.
