Our five day break was enhanced by the attentiveness and friendliness of the wonderful reception staff. Filipa and friends are great assets to the hotel. Great location - we shall most definitely be back!
We decided to stay a couple of extra days in Lisbon and found the Vincci Baixa by chance. So glad we did. Big thank you to Marcos for getting us checked in and answering allll (because we had a lot) of our questions. The room was clean and spacious and provided everything we needed for a few extra days. Marcos and Phillipa were so kind and helped us book train tickets to Porto as we couldn't translate the site ourselves. They also provided advice on how to get around and what other parts of Portugal to see. The hospitality was a great start to our trip. So much so, that we went head and booked their sister hotel in Porto! Thanks for everything!!
Very nice hotel as a location and comfort 👍🏻👍🏻 Hotel is very small and room as well, so convenient for a short stay not long. Reception girl was very helpful and nice, and gave me good recommendations to nice restaurants around. But best point about it is the location 👍🏻👍🏻
We just came back from Lisbon. We really like the Vincci Baixa hotel. The rooms are exactly like you see on line - I had booked through Expedia and my choice of room was a double room or two twin beds - I had chosen the twins because doubles in Europe can be small. Our twins were perfect - nice white sheets, duvet, very comfortable beds. However next door was a king bed. The room was cleaned every day - nice white towels, lots of hot water. One word of caution is the tub is high and has a half glass wall - some water splashes on the tile floor - you need to step down from the tub with nothing to hold on to - I almost wiped out on the tile floor - so adjust your bathmat accordingly. Also reminder there are no face cloths available (as in most places in Europe) so bring your own. They do give you a sponge in a package. The breakfast is 16 euros or 13 if you book with the front desk - we don't eat that much at breakfast so it was too expensive for us. Toast or a croissant and coffee and juice was 8-10 euros on the streets. The front desk staff are the very best part of this hotel - they are always helpful, have all the information required on tours, where to go, how to get there. There is nothing they cannot do and every single one of them is charming and polite. They book dinners. They are interested in where ate and your recommendations. We had a restaurant situation which they were concerned about and handled it for us. We also thought the AC was not cold enough and the service man came and in fact the AC was at 17 degrees - we did find this a little warm but we come from the cold...... The location is marvelous- walking distance to everything. Lisbon is a beautiful, hilly city. Be prepared to climb however if you don't want to you can take the trolleys, or a tuk tuk to the top of wherever you want to be and walk down. The waterfront is minutes from the hotel and there are lots of things to do and see and many restaurants. Even the tourist type of restaurants serve very nice food. All the food in Lisbon is pricey for us Canadians are the Euro is high. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Vincci - the Portuguese are hospitable and charming people.
This hotel is located in the center of Lisboa which makes it perfect when exploring the city. The staff is very polite, friendly and helpful and made our visit a great pleasure. The only negative would be the storing capabilities of cloth in the room. Very small wardrobe.
First off, the hotel is exceptionally well located on Rua do Commercio, and is a short walk to the shops, the scenic castle, and night life. If you're feeling lazy, the tuc-tucs stop just across the road from the hotel, and trams, buses and Metro can all be accessed from the Praca do Commercio 200 metres from the hotel. I recommend walking, most of the sights are within strolling distance. We had booked a double room, and when my wife arrived she was given a twin room, but this was immediately changed upon request. Now the room was smaller than i would expect for a four star hotel, but it was well equipped and the use of mirrors made it to look more spacious than it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful also. The breakfast (included in our deal) was good, with a selection of cereals and juices, fried items, cold meats and plenty of sweet items, so not complaints there. We did not eat dinner in the hotel, but we did have a night cap in the bar. We were charged €18.00 for two glasses of 10 year old port; we thought this to be very expensive as we bought a bottle of the same port earlier in the weekend for about the same price. Luckily we only had one each! Overall we were very happy with the hotel, just beware on the drinks in the bar.
Rarely have we stayed in a hotel that offers such tasteful rooms, great location and outstanding staff. Close to river and myriad shopping and restaurants. Staff incredibly helpful and made several excellent dining suggestions. Bar and restaurant on site, as well. Rooms quite nice with good storage.
This is a great little hotel. The location is very convenient - just a couple of minutes from transport links, the river and lots of bars and restaurants. Chiado, Alfama and the Barrio Alto are all within walking distance. Check in was quick, efficient and Joao was very friendly, as were all the other staff members I came across. The room was small but as a solo business traveller, that wasn't a big deal at all. It was modern, clean and the bathroom was large and well stocked with essentials. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options including things not usually found in other hotels. I'll definitely be staying here again.
A very nice hotel close to old town. Everything is in walking distance, including Alfama. The central (commerce) square is a block away. A great sandwich shop down the road. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
Everything was great. From location to the center and to staff. Very good breakfast, varied. Soundproofed rooms, clean and very good mattresses. If you want to choose a hotel dinner, definitely recommend. We will definitely repeat the experience in this hotel.
