Very well located hotel! The rooms were nice and breakfast was adequate. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. Would definetly recommend this hotel for those who want to be at the center of the action in Chiado.
7th floor has great view. Stayed one night in premium room 720 which is large. Returned 2 days later & was put into 717, another premium room which is 25% smaller. Hotel refused to put us in same room because family required additional bed which is not possible in all of the other premium rooms which are smaller. Hotel says it will not book a particular room, only the type or category of room. So key is to make booking of a 7th floor premium room, saying that it has to be large enough for an extra bed for a child. On very busy street, heart of activity - would look elsewhere next time now that we have experience in this area
Great location and probably one of the best views in Lisbon from the terrace, although there isn't a big variety of food you can get at the restaurant where the terrace is. We had a room with a small window facing the opposite of the terrace, so that was a little disappointing. Receptionists were friendly and helpful. There is a taxi stand outside, the tram stop is downhill down the street and the metro stop is right behind the hotel.
Hi looking forward to visiting this great place - They now offer tea and coffee in the rooms which are as ever fantastic complimented by the view of Lisbon. Beds comfortable - faultessly clean - Staff are amazing
We picked the hotel for its location and we weren't disappointed. Right in the middle of downtown. Very close to the old city, great shopping, excellent restaurants and the river is a short walk. The hotel had amazing views across to the Castillo and river. The hotel terrace bar became compulsory each day for drinks and snacks. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.
We stayed at hotel de chiado last week! It is very central for all that is going on in this truly wonderful city. The staff were all extremely helpful , pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was very good and served in a beautiful room with terrific views all around! The view from the bar terrace is fabulous. We had a lovely room, very spacious with the biggest bed I have ever slept in. Three points however : firstly, if you are going to Lisbon be aware that it is full of very steep hills which can be pretty hard going. This in no way impeded our enjoyment of the city. There are plenty of taxis, trams and buses for sight seeing. Secondly, and this is a note for management.. room 706 is a great room but the window is quite narrow..the blind can only be raised half way up the window and so the room is very dark. Finally , sometimes the bar terrace gets very full with non residents and residents are sometimes very disappointed that they can't get a seat. However, the bar staff do everything they can possibly do to accommodate you. But, great city, great hotel....brilliant! Memorable holiday.
Good budget place in a good location. Near main shopping area and lively place with restaurants and a big shopping mall. All the major brands are here as well as eats and drinks. Noisy area though so be prepared. I did like the access set up as you have codes for door entry instead of keys.
Great hotel, great staff. I opted for a room with a terrace and the view is spectacular across town to the Se and the castle. The room was was well equipped. Breakfast was very good and the bar even more spectacular than the pictures. My previous stay was in a 5 star hotel that deserved 4 stars. This is a 4 star hotel worthy of 5 based on location, facilities n\and staff.
I have just returned from a four night stay in the hotel and honestly cannot recommend it enough. The location is superb with most of the sights of Lisbon within easy access. We stayed in a room on the 7th floor with a private terrace and an unforgettable view of the castle and over to the Tagus. Check in was swift and efficient . The room , and in fact the whole hotel, was spotlessly clean . Fantastic breakfast service too. I cannot believe there are over 40 hotels in Lisbon which are better than the Do Chiado. You will not be disappointed!
We had a wonderful room with an amazing view and a balcony overlooking the city! It could not have been better and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The view from the outdoor terrace was beautiful both during the day and at night when the city is all lit up. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.
