Book the other rooms instead
This place is pretty convenient and close to a lot of restaurants and attractions.
Communication was okay leading up to the trip. We wanted to drop of our luggage earlier so we could join a tour and explore the city without our luggage. They did try to accommodate us by letting us check in earlier, but we ended up having to ask the tour to start later because they were late from helping others check in early. They said we should've told them about the tour beforehand, so just make sure to tell them if you need to be somewhere for a specific time.
This room is a basement room. We would have chosen a different room if we knew. The room is pretty small with not much natural light. It is also very loud - you can hear people stomping around upstairs or even the cleaners vacuuming. There is also a window that faces a street where people pass by. You can hear people talking and making noise as they pass by. There's also a door in the room that connects to another unit. It was locked, but you can hear them as well. They did provide ear plugs to help with the noise.
As with other places in Portugal, there is very little ventilation. There's a fan above the toilet but none in the shower area, and it looked like mold on the ceiling. There was also a strange smell from the closet. It looked clean but maybe it was just musty from lack of circulation.
We were glad we only stayed a few days - it did the job. I would recommend the other rooms though. They looked much nicer and larger.
