Reception staff were excellent. The room was noisy throughout the night. The hotel bedroom was small but relatively comfortable. You get what you pay for the hotel was very cheap and good value but tired.
Stayed here for three night. Good location. Close to station, metro and plenty of eateries. Does what it says on the tin. Typical 3 star hotel. Easy lift or stair access. Breakfast over priced in our opinion.
I came into town close to midnight without reservation and unfortunately with heavy luggage. Since they have 24h front desk server, I found someone. I got in because it was accessible with my heavy luggage. The guy working was very nice and gave me a discount. They have a nice view on the 7th floor where they offer breakfast but you have to pay an extra 10€ for breakfast.
A clean and satisfactory quaint hotel with pleasant staff. Centrally located and a good view of the Square. The amenities were clean and the hotel warm. The noise from the Square was minimal and I imagine windows double glazed.
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Even though we were on the 2nd floor with view of the station, the room was quiet. Room was small but pleasant. Reception people were eager to help you. Breakfast on the 7th floor, was extra €10 per person but outside was even more expensive.
The Hotel Balladins was a really good deal and was just the basic requirement for a one night stopover. The Hotel is about a 10 minutes walk from the main Eurostar Terminal and directly opposite Lille Flanders station. The Hotel reception is staffed 24 hours and the staff on reception were all very friendly and helpful. It is also about a 10 minutes walk to the centre of Lille and due to the locality to the main areas, the Hotel is an ideal location. The room was a decent size it was at the back so was quiet. It seems from reading other reviews the rooms at the front were much noisier. A good point is the internet connection which was very good and accessible on more than one device. There were toiletries available a hairdryer, but no compliments tray which was a great shame, and also a minus, although there is a vending machine in the reception area. This is definitely a budget hotel though but it is clean and welcoming. It is a great location, everything was within walking distance for my needs. I could probably manage a 2 night stay here and would probably stay here again, I have stayed in another budget hotel within this area and I do prefer this one. So I can definitely recommend this hotel.
-Friendly and helpful staff -clean comfortable room -convenient location to the old town of Lille - only two minutes from the train station - It was a great base to use for exploring the old part of the city and very close to many restaurants
The hotel is right in the heart of Lille on top of all train stations and shops. We arrived on the Sunday and on 1st floor so could use the lift as my husband has recently had a new hip, but the next day the lift was not in use as they had workmen in which I had no email informing me of this so it was awkward for my husband going up the stairs to get to our room . Also glad we never had the buffet breakfast as it advertises a panaramic view but due to decorating it was put downstairs in a room. Our room was small but adaquate and a very nice bathroom with a great shower, room was made up everyday. We had a lovely view from our room over the square by the main station but in the summer with windows open it would be very noisy as most mornings was woken about 6am . I booked this hotel back in August 2016 so they had plenty of time to email me of the up coming work, one other thing when have a room at front of hotel is that you are over a couple of bars so you get the cigarette smoke wafting up to your room
I was really impress with this little budget hotel. It was clean and tidy and the staff were really friendly. It is close to the town centre and loads of little bars around it and the shopping centre is a few min walks from the hotel. Not just that the train station is like across the road. Free wifi and you have somewhere to leave your bags once you have checked out. The view from the room wasn't exciting but for a budget hotel it is deffo worth the money and I would so come back here again. Thanks for a amazing weekend
This is a nice little hotel only a five minute walk from Eurostar it's nothing great but it's only a three star so if you go not expecting to much you won't be disappointed.the room themselves are small with a flat screen TV didn't use that much as there was only France channel apart from cnn but don't go to a hotel just to watch tv .the other thing was a lack of any tea makeing equipment so bring your own .the bathroom was nice for such a small room with its own hair dryer wich wife was pleased with and the shower was nice and large to .The staff were very nice and the room was cleaned every day that about all I can say apart from there were some nice restraunts would defiantly use again if I ever go back to Lille just one thing more should of said it can be a bit noisy of a night time with the utility trucks
