Mercure Paris Sud Les Ulis4.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is convenient to the highway so if you need to be in this part of France, this hotel is a good central location. The hotel was undergoing renovations while I was there so I imagine they are in the middle of a refresh, which should be to their benefit. There is a small pool and outside area for relaxing after a day's work, and the restaurant's fare is not bad at all. Breakfast is pretty good as well. Due to it's location, there really isn't much to walk to. My only complaint would be the tour groups that come though here -they can be quite overwhelming and 'get in the way" if you're looking for a quick bite or to get checked out.
The Mercure in Les Ulis is a nice hotel if you need to be in the neighborhood for business. Hotel is modern and clean, breakfast is quite good. The terrace is a great place to hang out with a beer or for dinner/lunch. As you are close to Paris Orly airport, planes a flying over quite low. In the rooms you don't notice them
I was one of the unfortunate members of the tour group stayed in this hotel for two nights. We consisted of 4 families, traveled through West Europe, and Mercure Les Ulis was our second hotel during the trip. We checked around 9pm in the evening and found out some faults with our rooms. Two had leaked bathrooms and peeling bathroom walls, one had faulty telephone. My room's hall light went off on the second night and the AC smelt weird when turned on. The poor Tour Leader tried hard to rectify the situation, but was met with half hearted response. The phone was never fixed. My hall light also was never fixed. The lady knocked on my door and simply said that "I cannot fix the light. Must wait for my colleague tomorrow". What A JOKE. Shouldn't hotels in Mercure level have a stand by technician? You claimed to be a 4 stars hotel and yey you provide such bad service. Toiletries didn't have toothbrush, and was not replenished everyday. Room size was quite cramped and the bed had this strange extended metal on the feet part, which my toes bumped several times (hurt!!). Breakfast spread was limited and same foods are served everyday. Taste was adequate. Carpeting in room was dirty, I can feel debris sticking to my bare feet. No slippers provided. Pillows were too soft. I am an active member of Accor club, which means I am quite familiar with the standards set by Accor Hotels. However this particular Mercure in Les Ulis definitely did not live up to such standard. Will I come back to this hotel? Not if I can help it.
Nice quiet location Tea and coffee facilities in room Comfy bed... but would have liked extra pillows, good size tv, nice shower and toiletries, reading light, fridge and safe in room Good size room good tasty breakfast
Friendly staff, nice room, comfortable bed, nice beer selection, very tasty dinner and nice breakfast. Good for business trips related to companies situated in the area but not for visiting around especially without car
Hotel was well appointed and typical of the Mercure chain. Room was a reasonable size. Breakfast was good and the outdoor bar pleasant for a few post work drinks, Located near the main road running through the Les Ulis area, so when the traffic was heavy you could hear it!
The bed is really comfortable. Food is delicious, staff is nice and friendly. Unfortunatelly the hotel is in the middle of nowhere far away from RER station. There is no proper public transport in the evening.
As you would expect for a huge business park south of Paris - the staff were good and helpful, decent food and bar and an OK breakfast especially for people on the move. My room was OK but other people had better upgraded rooms, and the internet worked well.
“Why not give your business trip a new direction?" is the slogan, and yes indeed, not being able to work due to poor/no wifi for 2/4 nights is truly to give my business trip a new direction. I chose this hotel because it was my compannys preferred choice since the office in nearby. The first impression is good, nice staff and fresh lobby, and then when we are going up to our rooms to work, there's no wifi. No hard feelings, i ask the reception and they answer that it will be fixed until the day after, again no hard feelings. The next day I ask again after a long working day if they have fixed the Wifi and the manager says "Yes it is working" in a very rude way. I show him that it does not in fact work and ask if there is a plan to when it should be fixed but he only said that it was late and the technician would come they following day - again. With that said, i think its disappointing that a hotel that host mearly business people don't prioritize this matter. We don't want the WiFi to go on facebook or browsing internet but to work, that's why we chose the hotel. Resturant was not good at all, high prices for bad food and bad service. On the positive side the rooms where very nice renovated with spacious toilet as well as bedroom. Nothing to complain about there.
If you travel internationally for business you know how tough it can be to get good WiFi and good service outside the larger metropolitan areas. This hotel delivered on all fronts. Delicious breakfasts fueled me up for my days and zooming wifi allowed me to work uninterrupted into the evening hours, including video conferencing. If your business is south of Paris, give this, place a try!
