This is a no-smoking, non-casino hotel near the Strip we booked using IHG points. Having 2 kids, we narrowed our choices to Holiday Inn Desert Club or Staybridge Suites. We chose the latter because we'd rather have leisurely breakfasts without having to line up. It is not walking distance to the Strip but we had a car so that was a non-issue. We were impressed with this hotel's attention to detail--lobby design, lobby beverage station, hotel info sheet upon check-in, hotel interiors all with clean details. Staff very professional & warm. Rooms are assigned upon check-in, but I did email in advance that we preferred a one-bedroom suite and they did grant our request (much appreciated). Our room was thoughtfully designed & furnished, with a full kitchen, living room with sofa bed, patio with Strip view. There was a washer & dryer as well. We were told they are currently upgrading all room furniture and beds, although the existing ones were satisfactory to us. The free breakfast was standard, but the tranquil setting was welcome after our nights at the Strip. The hotel also provides dinner Mon-Wed, usually a salad bar and meat selection. For our stay, menu was chili & nachos (Mon), meatballs (Tue), grilled hotdogs & burgers (Wed). The dining area never got fully packed during our stay--I think it's because we/guests either eat in the Strip or in the rooms. Parking is free, parking lot is spacious, wi-fi free. Their business office was efficient--I had to sign & fax back some office documents during our stay, no problems encountered. We used the pool which had an adjacent wading pool for little kids. I think that was the only problem--too much leaves/flowers in the wading pool blown in from the grounds & surrounding trees.
Despite waiting 90 minutes for the room to be ready, I had a great stay overall. The suite was great! It was like a 1-bedroom apartment with all the amenities including a washer and dryer. The suite was very spacious with a separate bedroom, living room/dining room open-space living. There were TVs in both the bedroom and the living room. There was also a sofa with a chaise lounge. I had a view of the strip; however, it also faced I-15, Mccarran Airport, and seemed to be the turning point for all those helicopter tours. There were a few issues with the suite. The curtains to the living room were not hooked up properly, so it had to be manually closed. The door from the living room to the balcony was defective. I was not able to unlock or open the door outside. The only access was from the bedroom. The curtains in the bedroom could not close completely, so I had the natural daily sunlight waking me up each morning. There was only 1 trash can for the entire suite, which was under the kitchen sink. I didn't notice the other trash can until check out and it was almost behind the toilet. There's free parking. I used the gym, which was spacious and well-equipped. It even had a view of the strip. Breakfast was just average, but there were a lot of choices. Also wanted to mention that Mr. Bob Pierce, the manager of the hotel did contact me the next day apologizing for the inconvenience of the room not being ready. Him taking the time to call me restored my faith in the IHG brand.
My wife and I just had a baby back on June 12th, 2017. We live in southern Utah. We needed a night away. I chose this hotel based on reviews and that it was a tiny bit cheaper than my usual hotel, but looked very similar. We arrived at 2 PM and waited 10 plus minutes to be acknowledged by the front desk clerk. She told us the room was not ready, but she thought about another 30 minutes. Okay no problem check in isn't until 3PM. We were told they would call us and let us know when it was ready. We went to the casino and came back at 3:50PM. Nobody had called us. The front desk clerk Alan was telling everybody that walked in "2 people ahead of you please sit down." He was not greeting anybody, or asking how he could help them, but simply telling them to sit down. When It was my turn I was told the room was still not ready. I explained that my wife desperately need to pump her breast milk. That she had a baby recently and that we timed our arrival to be at check in time so this could happen. Alan told her to go into the restroom down the hall. When I told him that wasn't acceptable, or sanitary he offered no other solution. We were asked to sit down. My wife was becoming more and more uncomfortable and upset. She was leaking through her Breast pads. At 5PM(2 hours after check in time) I became angry. I told them this was not acceptable and the longer it took to get her taken care of the more upset I was becoming. A lady walked up and introduced herself as the assistant manager. She looked very put out that she had to talk to me. She gave a very unsympathetic apology and asked if I was a IHG reward member. I said "yes" she said she was giving me 5000 points and an upgraded room and would get us checked in immediately. This is my first run in with this hotel chain. I became a member when I made the reservation. Points do nothing for us. Our upgraded room looked strangely like the room I had reserved except without the view that I reserved. A couple hours later my wife and I went down to the pool area. The bottom of the hot tub was black and slimy. I figured I would try the pool. The pool was even worse. The stairs and bottom of the pool had black slim covering the usually light pool surface. We headed towards the room. The elevator had many broken floor tiles. When we got to the room we got into the shower. Above the shower there was mildew on the ceiling. I asked Alan for a wake up call for 730AM. Later I called and asked to change the time to 830AM. He said the change was not a problem and he would change it immediate. The next morning the wake up call rang at 730AM, but did not ring again at 830AM. Luckily we woke up on time. We went to breakfast. The breakfast was good. Eggs, yogurt, sausage, waffle..ECT. Everything was great except the coffee. The coffee was not great. Reminded me of stale cigarettes. At check out I tried to talk to the front desk clerk about all the issues I had with my stay. She was very unresponsive and only cared to write down the mildew in the bathroom. The only thing she said was " would you like a receipt?" She ignored everything else I had spoken about. This hotel failed on so many levels. I expressed how upset I was becoming every step of the way with subpar response and attention from the Hotel Front Desk and Assistant Manager. Do yourself a favor and stay clear. There are much better places in Vegas.
Relocated to this hotel from a sub-standard competitor. We were impressed with the decor, staff and the rooms. Breakfast was hot and abundant. Close to the strip, courtesy van to/from the strip. I highly recommend this hotel. Plan on using this hotel for our future business travels.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful, but the facilities and breakfast need some TLC. First, we had a long wait at check-in (around peak check-in time) because there was only one person at the desk. Second, I noticed that all front desk staff at various times (usually only one working) favored the phone over people directly in front of them (grrrr). The breakfast was sad--crusty scrambled eggs, burnt omelettes, pathetic "french toast" and the list goes on. The food at dinner though was actually tasty. The business center is an absolute joke. The browser is antiquated and the so-called wireless printer will not connect to the WLAN. Thankfully, the helpful front desk staff solved my problem for me, but I hope they will fix the business center. Our room was clean, but the sink has no disposal and no strainer-style stopper which made life difficult. Also, there was only one chair in a room with two beds. Frustrating. The parking was easy and the location was convenient to the airport and to the Strip if you have a car.
I am a very frequent international traveller and have stayed at many hotels across the world but I can say that this is one of the best places to stay for a family. The suite had everything a family on vacation would need. Starting from shuttles to the airport and the strip, a washer and dryer In the room, a full fledged kitchen, all amenities and supplies, a great view of the strip, very friendly staff, well stocked pantry, great breakfast and great location too. The whole family enjoyed the stay and we recommend this for any family visiting Vegas. Don't even think twice, just stay here.
We spent a week at the Staybridge Suites. It was wonderful. While not on the strip (better for quiet and rest) it was a 5 minute free shuttle ride to New York New York. The staff was wonderful! My husband was there for training and he was shuttled back and forth each morning and afternoon. My son and I rode the shuttle to the Strip 2 days. Great people at this hotel. It was very clean, modern and new. Nice pool and hot tub. Good business center. Excellent breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
We recently stayed for a week utilising Reward Points. Communication in advance was excellent and this continued throughout our stay. It's in a cluster of half a dozen Marriott and IHG franchised hotels. If it's important to you, you may want to know that only one has a bar. This is down to the owners religious beliefs. It borders a business park so it's not somewhere for walks or local dining. Lots of fast food companies will deliver. There's also a small pantry on site where you can buy food, candy and non alcoholic beverages. We wanted a full suite and this certainly fitted the bill. Our suite had a full kitchen and lounge with a separate bedroom, bathroom and dressing room. In addition to full cooking equipment we enjoyed a washing machine, dryer, iron and board. Televisions in lounge and bedroom. Fridge and freezer. In fact the only thing missing was an in room safe. Huge bed. Excellent bed linen and great cleaning service. Rooms either view the Strip or the pool. All have balconies. Pool facing rooms get more sun. The pool itself is relatively small but very pleasant with even some cabanas. Breakfast selection is very good and there are free social nights three times weekly. There's a free hourly shuttle to New York New York and the airport. You must book -especially if you want picking up. As it's not an easy walk, the shuttle is very useful. It's about 8 Dollars in a cab to the Strip and 30 to the airport. Finally and perhaps most importantly - the staff. What a friendly and helpful bunch they are. Bob, their leader, manages from the middle. So don't be surprised to see him clearing breakfast dishes. They go out of their way to assist. And always a friendly, smiling greeting. This is not the have a nice day brigade. They go the extra mile each and every time. Oh and a big car park. Filling station and 7 11 on the next block. Have stayed in most of the top suite hotels in Vegas and this one is up there with the best of them. Will undoubtedly return.
I love staying here it's like a little condo off the strip, great pool, nice breakfast and if you stay on mon/tues/wednesday they offer a nice lunch option. Overall great hotel and only a short ride to the strip use there free shuttle or just lyft/taxi there it's so close.
