Loved it from the moment I walked in. Friendly receptionists. Hotel has everything you could possibly need or want. Rooms are spacious, clean, and you can request a pet friendly room.

The person handling check in was friendly and helpful. The complimentary popcorn was a nice touch as were the coupons for gift shop gifts and lounge drinks. While the intel is old the beds were comfortable, the rooms spacious and the shower was great! Would definitely stay there again.

The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed eating dinner at the restaurant Margaritas.

Nice hotel but the staff when I checked in were not very nice and you are immediately hit with a very strong smell of smoke since it is attached to the casino. They gave us a coupon for a complimentary drink but the smoke smell was so strong we could not go to the lounge. If you are a smoker or you are okay with smoke and are looking to gamble, this would be a nice hotel but I would not recommend this property for families with young children.

Room, restaurant and casino very nice. Staff extremely friendly and helpful

Rooms are clean and newly renovated. Good amenities in the room. Restaurant is open until 12:00am. Food is decent. Best part of this hotel is the costumer service. 5.0 rating for the service.

I frequently stay in very high-end hotels in major cities. Because of this, I am used to a certain level of service. The Prospector exceeds all of my high standards. The rooms are modern and updated, spotless, the beds and linens very comfortable, bathrooms have rain shower heads, and the service was top-notch. Breakfast and dinner at Margarita's were also great. And, if you are traveling with pets, not only are they pet-friendly, but have a special wing dedicated to your four-legged family. We did not bring our dogs on this trip but I was able to see a number of the pet-friendly rooms while walking down to breakfast as the cleaning ladies turned the rooms over. There was no difference in cleanliness/smell/room condition of these rooms compared to all of the other great rooms. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Ely.

I reserved this hotel for one night during a road trip through Nevada. When we checked in, I was pleased with the facilities and the service. However, that changed drastically the next morning. At 8 am., we were awakened by a housekeeper knocking on the door. I told her we were checking out that day, asked her to please come back later, and put out the "Do Not Disturb" sign. Despite my request and the sign, the housekeeper knocked on the door over and over again, every few minutes. At about 10:15, we went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. We waited forever for our food, which was barely edible when it finally came. At 11:05, while waiting to be served in the hotel restaurant, I received a phone message from Heather at the front desk. She told me that check-out time was 11:00, and that if we did not vacate the room within the next few minutes, we would be charged for an extra day. I was dumbfounded. I have stayed in hotels all over the world, and have never been threatened with an extra charge for staying five minutes over the checkout time. There was no indication, in this case, that guests were waiting for our room, or that the housekeeping staff was being delayed. In fact, when we vacated the room (at 11:10), the housekeepers appeared to have several rooms to deal with before they got to our place in the hallway. I would NEVER stay in this hotel again, and want to WARN OFF anyone who is even considering a visit. HORRIBLE!!!

The hotel seemed good compared to the others in the town and was adequate for our needs but we needed to make changes to our itinerary which required multiple conversations with different staff to get it taken care of. Overall it was an okay place to stay. The staff was polite.

We had a memorable stay at Prospector's Hotel. There were many interesting exhibits in the lobby that made it almost seem like a museum. That was great. The staff was friendly. The room was clean. (The in-room coffee machine, however, could have been cleaner.)The location was good, too--very close to the Railroad Museum and train ride, which we enjoyed. There was one complimentary margarita coupon for each guest and we got ours at the bar and brought them into the "Margarita's" restaurant, which I would rate good but not excellent. (The morning coffee I got at that restaurant was bitter and much too weak.) There are not many better places to eat in Ely, however. There is a pool and fitness room which I saw but did not use because we did not have time. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Prospector's. I can recommend it!

The room was nice, large and comfy with a microwave, fridge and coffee maker (and a safe). Plenty of parking. Dinner at the restaurant was fine, but breakfast was not. Slow to non-existent service.

We are so happy staying at the Prospctor Hotel. Our Dog loves the bedding more than her own. The rooms are big & roomy. The bed is so comfortable too. We used to stay there with our RV and enjoyed the amenities but no longer have the mortorhome so travel by car. We enjoy our stay every time we drive through via Washington & Arizona.

The hotel is a museum in itself...old pictures, western themed paintings, etc...enjoyed walking around looking at everything

Nice staff, good food for an older hotel that has been remodeled

Arrived here after a day of driving along Highway 50 (the loneliest road in america!). They greeted me warmly when I arrived. The place is unique and quirky with lots of fun decor outside and inside. They also have freshly popped popcorn available to grab if you'd like. It's not a cookie cutter chain. Getting to my room it was decorated nicely, had a large tv with a ton of DirectTV channels available. After that I went to grab some dinner at their restaurant, which is a Mex/American place in the casino. It was packed and so I ended up just ordering food to my room since the bar was not smoke free (the one real knock I had on this place).

Loved it. The rooms have been recently updated. Very clean. And the best is the little things, and little details that make it a great place to stay at again. Amazing.

Doggy room was great - free doggy biscuits, bed for our dog to sleep in and lots of cute doggy pictures all the room. Charlie felt right at home.

Stayed in several hotels on our road trip and this was the coolest. Clean, quiet, prompt, professional staff. And a pretty interesting and cool hotel too. And the restaurant staff and food were good too.
