We arrive around 7:30 at night after taking a taxi here only to be told they didn't have our reservation. I showed them our confirmation email, the email that had our payment information and they said they didn't have it. Not only did they not have it... they had no rooms. Stunned we asked what they were going to do and they said basically nothing. Too bad. They didn't even call any other hotels for us to see where may have a room and said it was our fault. We got to walk around Puno with our bags for an hour trying to find a hotel at night during a busy week. Make sure you don't book online and pay online, but even better yet, don't book here at all! And don't expect any help from the staff when they make a mistake with your booking :(

Old noisy and dirty hotel. Needs to be refurbished as soon as possible. I stayed there just because its location, a 5 minute walk from the train station. 10 minute walk to plaza de armas. Service personnel nice and helpful. Good point: cheap.

It's very centrally located, near to markets, restaurants, shops and a Plaza Vea. (Peru's version of Walmart) No heat, but I've found that isn't uncommon in this region. Ask for an extra blanket. In-room wifi was good and so was the cable TV selection. My room overlooked the street, which may be a bit noisy, for some, but I liked watching the hustle & bustle. It's a good 10-15 walk, to the lake. It's a bit run down, but I didn't find it actually dirty. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. It was reasonably priced, for what you're getting.

Awful hotel. Very dirty, in particolar the double rooms. The bathroom was very old, dirty and without towels and toilet paper. The wi-fi didn't work. The receptionist weren't gentle and they didn't care about our complains and questions. It's located in a very poor area of Puno.

The hotel looks kind of creepy yet it was inexpensive and had better price/quality ratio than the nearby hotels. The beds are big and comfortable. Otherwise rooms lack equipment, hot water is not reliable and our private bathroom was in a very bad shape. WiFi only in the reception area. Overall - you will survive sleeping there and can get a nice price but don't expect nothing more.

If the Punuypampo in Puno was the best hotel I stayed in, then this hotel was the worst. The absolute worst. The rooms were cold, I had no hot water for 2 days and left early (Expedia you will be hearing from me for a partial refund) with my laundry that I left when I arrived, still wet. The place was run by boys who did not have much idea of what running a hotel was. I do not blame them at all, the manager who I caught sight of briefly is responsible for the training, or lack of it. Just stay away from this hotel.

Guess adding my review to the already existing review written by Cityvoyager shows how personal reviews and opinions are... Therefore don't be put off to go to a certain hotel based on the review of one person! I truly think the hotel is really great for the price we paid. Nice and hot shower! ..great beds with plenty of blankets to keep you warm at night. but above all it is the service-attitude of the owners and staff. They help you with everything and are truly friendly! Only negative point would be that the rooms can get quite cold at night. as far as the street concerned, it is true that the street is not at the touristic main street but even though travelling with just one other female friend i did not feel unsafe at all and in less than 5 min. you are at the mainstreet and plaza del armas!

We were meant to stay in this hotel in August 2007. When we entered the room, we were quite shocked: The room was very dark and appeared dirty, the bathroom floor was very sticky and you would not want to sit down on the toilet. Furthermore the hotel is in a street that I would feel unsafe to walk in if you are not local. We refused to stay for longer than 1 hour in this hotel and our travel agent found us fortunately a better (and more expensive) hotel quite quickly.
