Casa Andina hotel chain always delivers a credible set of attributes regarding the standard of the accommodation, quality of service and overall value for money and this one in Puno is about the best one I have been. Great location by the Titicaca lake shore, comfortable and cozy design, decent breakfast and a Peruvian feeling about it. If you go to visit Titicaca and want to have a great experience this is a great place.
Everything were very good. Rooms service is very good as well th reception and bar service. I suggest this hotel to everybody wish to visit Puno and lake Titicaca for vacation. The location is perfect just in front of the lake titicaca with a beautiful view. ..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
We had a lake view room which was comfortable and spacious. The inconvenience of being out of town is more than made up for by the views of the lake. Staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning having travelled by train. We left our luggage at the hotel whilst we went into town and by the time we got back it was in our room. Breakfast was tasty and started early enough to accommodate our early starts. As with all Casa Andinas, water is not provided, which seems a little bit mean given relative costs involved.
Very nice room with 2 queen beds, a table and 1 chair. To be able to sit both we took the chair from the balcony and placed it inside. Tea and coffee available in the room, although no complimentary water (10 soles for one bottle). Free wifi in the room and a good bathroom but the temperature of the shower was difficult to control. An ATM at the frontdesk and a jetty that belongs to the hotel. Very convenient for tours on Lake Titicaca. The room was thin-walled so luckily we did not have noisy neighbours. A plus is the restaurant that goes with the hotel, we had a very good dinner here!
I stayed here for one night as part of a Travel Marvel tour of Peru. It was a lovely hotel and very welcome after a very long bus journey from Cusco. When I suggested to our guide that it was a pity we only stayed night - especially as we had to check out the following morning , do our tour of Lake Titicaca, have dinner, then fly back to Lima - ge said they had changed trip to one night at this hotel because the high altitude affected some people and the hotel was too far away to walk into town.
We actually booked this hotel because their night photo shows the hotel on the edge of the lake, that is not the case, it's actually optioned about 100 metres off the lake. The hotel is located on the out skirts of Puno, a short 6 solos taxi ride, although the front desk staff will tell you it's 10 solos, not sure why. Our room was quite large with a large bathroom with bath/ shower. We felt they could improve in a couple of areas. The wall heater is inadequate for the room size, there is only one chair at a round internal table, & one plastic chair on the balcony, why there is not two of each, we wondered. We found there bar and mini bar prices expensive. There is a good selection for breakfast with some sugar free options(well done), there is also a Good egg selection which is cooked on request & delicious. The one gripe we had is , every hotel in Peru offered 2 free bottles of water each day of your stay, here you pay 10 solos per bottle. Considering the altitude, you think they would supply complementary. The wifi is free for 4 hrs but slow, if you want a quicker service, it will cost you 35 solos per day.
I spent two nights at the Casa Andina Premium Puno and had a great stay there. The rooms were comfortable, the jetty on the lake was wonderful at sunset, and the food and service were great. They had a great bar which also served light meals and it was lovely to sit there and enjoy a light meal or drink. I would recommend this hotel for others staying and visiting Lake Titicaca
This hotel was the perfect location in Puno. We are so pleased that we chose to stay here. It was very relaxing waking up early and walking out to see the beautiful lake shining on the water. The beds were comfortable on the breakfast was delicious. We also had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant. David the restaurant server was very pleasant. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
This is a very pleasant hotel, located on the shore of lake Titikaka. It is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the centre of Puno (will cost 8 to 10 Soles for the ride) and it is quite isolated. So if you fancy taking a stroll or trying some alternative food or drink you need to get a taxi. Casa Andina is a chain of hotels in Peru, aimed at more up market customers. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food good value. WHY OH WHY do they insist on charging more than double the price for mineral water in your room, when the water from the tap is not recommended as fit for consumption?! This is a blatant exploitation and does not fit with the overall good quality of the hotel and its staff - a very poor decision, because it leaves a negative impact and surely the hotel can afford to supply complimentary water - all the other hotels do! Also, you can only have free wifi for 2 devices. In an age when a lot of people have a phone and an tablet this becomes an irritant, because you have to disable the wifi on one device before using another. A good hotel blighted by short sighted and petty cost pinching.
I will break this into bad and then good: 1) I was really looking forward to getting to this hotel after a 6 hour bus journey from Colca Canyon. Needed a hot shower, but the shower head was so full of "calci" that it barely worked. I had to clean the shower head myself to get decent flow. Really poor for a hotel of this quality. 2) I had a room on the second floor facing the street. At 9.00pm the dogs started barking and fighting and that was it for a decent nights sleep. Doesn't help to have a shanty town developing next door to the hotel. 3) The sun terrace that overlooks the lake was one of the selling points for us coming to this hotel. We wanted to have drinks on the terrace, and watch the sunset etc. But the odour of excrement coming from the lake was a real dampner. Luckily there was a bit of wind to keep it away for a while. Real shame as the views are really good. Now the good. 1) The room was good and the beds were comfortable. 2) The restaurant was good for both breakfast and dinner and the girls were really good fun. 3) Sitting by the fireplace was great and they do serve a sensational G&T. I have given this hotel a poor review, as a traveller I want three things. A good hot shower, a good hot meal and a good nights sleep. If a hotel of this quality can not deliver these things, it needs to look long and hard at itself.
