Staff was great, towels could've been cleaner and the sign still says hot breakfast but with COVID they can't serve hot items.... staff made up for any side items, we would come back
Was not informed there are no waffles on weekends which to me should be important for Saturday and Sunday. Staff was nice, but after 1 night it has confirmed that staying at these places for a longer time would be unacceptable for a 10 day vacation.
I was taken aback when I went to get coffee in the breakfast area at 8:30am on a Sunday morning and was told in a very condescending tone, from appeared to be a front desk clerk, that breakfast was over and ends at 8:00 am. I just wanted coffee and who would think that breakfast would be cleared out by 8:00 am on a Sunday morning ??? And I totally didn’t want to hear a condescending tone when I didn’t say a word to her.
I sprained my ankle pretty badly on the beach and managed to get back to my car but still needed to get checked in. I called the staff from the parking lot and they brought the paperwork out to me and put me in a downstairs room. The room wasn't the greatest looking but was comfy and quiet and extremely close to the beach. But mostly I was so thankful that the staff went the extra mile for me :)
Walked in to the room and noticed no moldy smell which was great, room was very clean except for the carpet that did need some cleaning but other than that my stay was enjoyable.
Facilities were dirty overall, in the room the carpet was very dirty, I do have to point out that blankets were clean and change daily . I will not use this hotel next time, better to pay some extra dollars and gets better hotel.
Hotel was very clean and staff was very courteous. Especially the manager (Rhonda) who took the time to call about 20 minutes after check in to see if everything was up to par. Met her again at breakfast and you could tell that she was an individual who loved serving the clientele.
I realize this is an older motel but the smell in our non smoking room was really bad. Smelled moldy and stale. Carpet was stained pretty bad through out the room. The shower drain didn't drain very fast so you stood in dirty water as you showered. The air conditioner was on 60 degrees for 2 days and the room still wasn't that cool. The noise level wasn't bad at all...guess that's about it. I don't think I would stay there again. As much as I paid I will just add a little more money and stay in a better motel.
Breakfast wasn't all that great. Clean room. Easy access to highway. Not far from beach.

Dear Valued Guest, First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to submit a review regarding your recent stay! Unfortunately, due to the circumstances that we are all living at this moment due to covid-19 our hotel has had to make drastic modifications to our daily operations. The breakfast is one of the areas that has had the most modifications, and this is our way in trying to protect our guest and our staff. Our complimentary coffee is no longer available from 4am-10pm until further notice. We have supplied all of our guest rooms with additional coffee packets so that guests can safely make their coffee in the comfort of their room. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and we hope that you appreciate the efforts that we are making to try to protect all of our guest and staff. Elena Barrera and your friends at Quality Inn Clute/Freeport!
