I like the window view on the lake, it’s fantastic and the breakfast. Friendly staff, who helped in returning the baggage from the airport. The hotel is old, the smell in the bathroom is not so good, the cleaning of the room is awful :(
We booked this hotel at the last minute as everything else was fully-booked or too far away from the centre of Montreux. On the positive side, the hotel has a certain faded charm about it, which is nice, and the location is excellent being only seconds away from the lake. On the negative side, we were put in a room in the 'newer' block (from the 60s, I presume) and one floor down from the ground-floor. The balcony was pleasant, looking out to the lake and a beautiful garden. The rooms have connecting doors to the neighbouring rooms on both sides and also have extremely thin walls just to make sure you hear everything. The small group having a little drinks get-together in the neighbouring room was very loud, but even when the party was over you could hear the person the other side snoring, the toilet being flushed, something being placed on the table ... not a very good night's sleep. Bring ear plugs, because they don't have any on reception. The breakfast the next day was average - the staff were nice enough, the food was eatable, the atmosphere slightly depressing, and the electricity kept cutting off. It seemed that the owners/managers were busy around the hotel during our stay and we passed them a few times in the garden - don't expect a friendly greeting. I would definitely come back to Montreux, but would probably not stay again at this hotel.
The view from My lakeside Room was Fantastic. Bon port Bus stop is 2 mins walk from the Hotel. Rivera card is free of charge. WIFI works great everywhere. Bathrooms are neat and Clean. Beds are spacious. Fans provided on Demand. Helpful Front office and Lobby members. Directions on Google map very wonky. The floor is old and Super Creaky. The Vegetarian options are breakfast are sparse . Very Strict Check-in Times. A little far from City Centre.
Lakeside hotel. staff very helpful, traditional hotel. Good continental breakfast with lovely breads, fresh fruit and yogurts. Some hot dishes as well. Our room was a good size, but due to being located at the side of the hotel a lot of train noise experienced. Set evening meal, with Inghams very good value, but would have been good to have just a couple of choices for the main course. Can't fault the quality of the food. If you get a Riviera card then you get half price entry to local attractions as well as free local transport. Saved a lot of money . Would recommend
This place could not be more comfortable! Starting with the breakfast in a beautiful hall, the selection is perfect, the staff is very helpful, fast, and responsive.I was alone and they always tried to make me comfortable. I like to have my tea in the room and they immediately found a kettle for me. The view from the terrace, where you can have your dinner, is a breathtaking! You see a beautiful panorama of the lake and an Alps. Dinner was also perfect and the dessert (meringue with wild berries) is to die for... Location was perfect for me. Direct access to the lake from the breakfast hall, through the beautiful roses garden. I was walking by the lake to the Chateau Chillon and to the other side, and just couldn't get enough of this beautiful place. You are also close to the city centre. If i am to return to Montreux I would definitely choose this place again.
This is our second hotel in Montreux ,,we checked out of the other one yesterday , upon checkin I couldn't help notice the lake , well view of the beautiful lake from this hotel is rather small yes you see the alps also Chtateau Chilion dwarfed in the distance ,,The right hand side the lake is blocked by a headland ,, other hotels have had a better view , floor boards creek , you can hear others walking past your room and access to the lake is almost missed ,Price bought me here ,,won't be coming back ,
Originally booked a hotel near the Casino and changed to this hotel at the last minute, so glad we did. Staff, location, views and food were fantastic. Fell in love with the place and will be back in the future. Nothing too much trouble for the staff
This is an older building with character, very comfortable rooms, and the breakfasts were excellent. We were able to check in after a short wait in the comfortable lounge overlooking the lake. We had requested a quiet room and we were on the ground floor with a view of the garden and lake. The staff were helpful, and having a Montreux Visitors Card enabled us to use the frequent buses into the town and to visit Vevey. The hotel is right on the lake and there is a lovely flower decked walk.
This hotel is not cheap, but it was just as i expected it to be. We booked a room with a balcony and lake view and thats what we got. We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our APR trek so a little bt a luxury didnt go a miss. The room was large enough and was well enough equipped for a short stay. The balcony and the view over the garden to lake just 20 metres or so away was stunning. The building itself is beautiful and must have a lot of history. The check in was efficeint, the lounge area stunning and breakfasts were very well stocked with everything you could need. This hotel is a little walk out of the town centre though if you have mobility issues - perhaps about 10 minutes. WiFi in the room was good.
The women on the reception desk was very unfriendly. She said we would have to wait for our room to be ready, which wasn't the end of the world, but I sat and watched several other people check in and get their rooms immediately. We than went to lunch in the hotel which was over 120 Swiss francs and because the women never took our information to contact us when our room was ready, we had to wait in line again. Our room was old and not what we expected at all. We paid a premium for a room with a view and wound up with a room (and the only one in the hotel) with a broken awning and an umbrella in its place ubstructing our view. Also, the ceiling in the bathroom looked like it was about to fall down on us from water damage, the towels are paper thin and rough not the normal towels, we know this because we took two from the maids cart the next morning because we opted out of room cleaning due to the fact we were leaving the next morning and they were much thicker and more what you would find in a room that cost over $300 a night. Funny thing is we met another couple who were starting st the Golf Hotel and they said the same thing. I would NOT recommend this hotel.
