Stayed for 3 nights and it has to of been one of the best mini breaks we've been on. Came with my partner to celebrate his birthday (which he had whilst we were there) and had the most amazing experience. The hotel itself is just beautiful inside and out as are the staff. A massive thank you to Marion, at reception. Secondly to her manager for the upgrade - it was completely unexpected and a lovely surprise - what a view of the fireworks!! The breakfast buffet was lovely with so much choice and also a thank you to the lady who was in charge there (I didnt get her name unfortunately). Though all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. We didnt use the spa or swimming pool though we've said next time we will!! All on all this hotel is a gem. The location, the facilities, the rooms and more importantly the staff made this unforgettable. We've stayed at other Fairmont hotels but here is by farthe best. A huge thank you.
This is our second visit to this wonderful hotel and it just gets better. We last stayed here 12 years ago and since then, the rooms and bars have had a revamp and they look wonderful. The MP bar is beautifully plush with soft green velvet sofas, green marble and gold side tables and a cool mirror bar with the best White Russians! The downstairs jazz bar in the lobby now has a round central fireplace with circular seating. Very 70s, very cool. We stayed in a signature suite again and the beds are just fantastic, Huge, soft and set amidst a lovely fresh soft white/grey decor. Better still, unlike most hotels today, you won't find a drop of sunlight creeping in at dawn to wake you up. Or worse still, noise from banging hotel doors or adjoining rooms. The sound-proofing is just amazing. Like the room service and staff. Lovely delicious hot food, beautifully presented, and the staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. Went in the pools this time too. Lovely and warm and very relaxing, apart from when some noisy trainer guy suddenly arrived with his rubbish music and started doing water exercises for people. Could have done without it to be honest but I guess some people are into that sort of thing ... As you'd expect, it's not cheap, but it's definitely worth it. All in all, another great stay. Wish it could have been longer.
Everything is super with this hotel, indoor pool, outdoor pool. We stayed for 4 nights in July and everything perfect - EXCEPT the way internet worked, you were throughn out all the time and had to log in over and over. But apart from this, one of the best hotels I have ever binto and breakfast buffet superb.
We stayed in the Signature Room with Lake View. The bedroom itself was spacious but the bathroom was quite small. The interior design / furnishing of the room did not feel like a five star hotel and in many ways pales in comparison to the Belle Époque exterior of the hotel which was a let down. Overall the service was so-so. However, the location of the hotel was great with the Montreux Jazz Festival taking place literally across the street (though it can get a little noisy especially late into the night). The hotel restaurants (Montreux Jazz Cafe, MP’s Bar & Grill and La Terrasse) are excellent both in terms of food & service and in many ways exceeded our expectations. The indoor pool and gym were both great. The spa facilities were a little rundown but the treatments were very good.
Currently staying at this hotel - overall stay has been okay but could have been better. I’ve asked the hotel staff 3 times now for ice and/or an ice pack to be sent to the room. The front desk apologized when I asked for ice the third time and said he would send it up. Still nothing and it’s been over an hour. My mom hurt her knee and wanted to ice it. Can’t believe such a simple request couldn’t be fulfilled and to think about the amount of money it costs to stay at this hotel. Breakfast has a good selection that was included in the room. Overall, for service alone I would not recommend this hotel for the price you’re paying. Save some money and stay somewhere cheaper along the waterfront.
have been there for thr 6th time, always nice to come back. good food, great views and SPA, very good service! if the weather it nice it is unbeatable, lake mountains and relaxed train ride from Genava to get there. try it, i will come back again with my family.
Just wow. Really nice hotel. Stately, charming chateau overlooking the lake and conveniently just a block or two from the Montreux train station. The hotel has old and new wings, but if no one told you so you might not notice. Common areas have wood panels, high ceilings, elaborate decor, and more. Rooms have comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. Hotel has several restaurants, including upscale steakhouse, jazz cafe, terrace cafe adjacent and overlooking the lake, and more. Best Sunday brunch in Switzerland (expensive though). Indoor and outdoor pools, spa, fitness center. Hotel staff is very well trained and goes out of the way to provide whatever one needs and yet remains very friendly. They even provided a breakfast packaged to go our last morning because we had to depart before the restaurant opened. Security staff on duty 24/7. Among the very nicest hotels we have enjoyed. Expensive, but then the best usually is.
I was very excited to stay at this property before my stay. However my experience was quite disappointing. The service at the property is quite sub standard. There is a some staff at the property who are very accommodating and courteous but we had a lot of encounters which are just unacceptable at such a luxurious property by Fairmont. The housekeeping staff was clumsy, having left a cleaning cloth in the room one time and left a weighing scale on the WC the other time. The concierge was keen to divert me to another member of the staff like the reception or bell desk who did not have enough information. When I spoke to the concierge later, he was arrogant and hasty in his tone and manner. The person who took the in room dining order did not want to take any responsibility for the order time and simply put it on the chefs who will prepare it. He claimed that he is only taking the order and cannot advise regarding its delivery. The staff at MPs bar and grill in the hotel was very nice but the food was average. Would suggest people to look at the relais and Chateux property Victoria in Montreux although location is not great. Or better yet, in case it is an option, go to Vevey instead.
The hotel is magnificent. I am however disappointed at the lack of their ethos of client service and going the extra mile. This morning I went for a training session in their gym, and upon arriving for breakfast at 9:45 was told that it is extra, although breakfast was included yesterday! Explaining this to the lady at the breakfast room was not possible, as she was adamant. It was very disappointing. I suppose the benefit is that my morning exercise will be more effective without extra breakfast calories. Based on this experience and the lady's forceful stance my company will not stay here again.
First time I visited the hotel and it has exceeded all my expectations. The hotel is very luxurious and yet the staff are very friendly and always smiling and ready to help. The rooms are very good sized and beautiful and have all the necessities you need. The food and the restaurants at the hotel is amazing with many options and all very tasty. The spa and gym are also great they have everything you need, very clean and well looked after. Lastly the view from this hotel is what makes it so special. You can view the lake and the mountains and the greenery is beautiful. I would call it a luxury diamond in Montreux that maybe is a bit pricy but it is definitely worth it.
